Dear fans,
Zenyatta has been enjoying Kentucky summer. Bath time is her favorite, and she’s pampered regularly by her friends at Lane’s End Farm.
We have a special announcement that we’re so pleased to share—Zenyatta is currently in foal, carrying a Candy Ride filly. Over the years we’ve seen how happy she is with a foal by her side, and we can’t wait to share this journey with you.
Scroll down for more new photos and videos from Alys.

Dear Sheena,
So sad about Roaring Lion — what a loss. He was such a brave warrior, but alas, that evil colic prevailed. I was so hoping he had turned the corner. RIP Roaring Lion :-(
Also, Espoir D’Allen, RIP. Another premature death, so young and so sad. Condolences to all connections.
Oh no, this is very worrisome news about Hovis. Everything seemed to be healing well and now the foot is oozing again. Extra prayers for our dear Hovis — please get well.

If we can meet with triumph and disaster and treat those 2 imposters just the same.
Roaring Lion and Stradivarius in Newmarket one become a multi millionaire yesterday and the other lost his life.
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Sheena,
Appropriate Kipling reference — triumph and disaster indeed.
Mourning for the loss and cheering for the victory; the sadness and the happiness that is life. Rest in Peace beautiful Lion.

Very sad about the loss of Roaring Lion. It is equally sad that his dam Vionnet lost her fight against laminitis February of 2018 with only 2 foals, Roaring Lion and Fran the Man ( a 3yo colt x MDO) that has not raced yet, that I can see.
I can only pray that Roaring Lion has some promising offspring from his one and only crop due next year.
Prayers for a safe pregnancy and delivery of our Queen Zenyatta.

Hearty Congratulations to Code of Honor, Johnny V. and Shug M. on winning the Travers!
Congrats and cheers to Mr. Farish of Lane’s End on his first Travers win, too! That was an exciting “come from behind” race. Well done COH and all connections.
I had to be content to watch the replay since I forgot to tune in yesterday. It is great that Fox Sports (FS2) is carrying the Saratoga races this weekend. Johnny V just won the 9th race today aboard Extraordinary Jerry — Congrats to them, Todd Pletcher, Nice Guy Stables and all connections! (I like the name of the horse and the owners)
Hope everyone has a fine week!

Dear Sheena:
We have finally had two days in a row of Fall like weather; I’m doing a happy dance.
Safe travel for Battaash if he comes for the BC. I’m waiting for the final series of Poldark to begin. Who knows; maybe they’ll reconsider and do a series 6. Goodnight. Love and Hugs, JB, LM and all the Sweeties
Donna Z
Hi, fellow Z Fans,
I was at Saratoga yesterday for Travers Day and the weather was much better than most of the previous week. We had severe thunderstorms most of the week with high winds and very heavy rain. These caused trees & power lines down as well as flooding & washed out roads. We even had two tornadoes-one in Johnstown & one in Saratoga a couple of miles from the track on Wednesday. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
I was rooting for either Code of Honor or Mucho Gusto to win the Travers. I had hoped that either Mucho Gusto would win because I love Mucho Macho Man or Code of Honor to win because Mr. Farish’s team at Lanes End take such wonderful care of Zenyatta & her foals. Code of Honor’s win was really impressive & his gallop out was impressive as well. He is one of the horses to watch for the Breeders Cup Classic.
I spent most of my time at the track in front of the Jockey’s Room so that I could see Mike Smith. I was very happy to see that Cynthia, his wife came with him. Cynthia is just as nice as Mike is and they posed for me to take a picture of the two of them.
I asked Mike if Zellda is with John S yet and he told me that he hadn’t seen her yet. I thought that she would be with John by now but maybe the Mosses want her to have a little more time at the Mayberrys because she was born in May.
Midnight Bisou’s & Mike’s win in the Personal Ensign was thrilling to watch. They won by barely a nose. I got a sore throat from cheering them on in the home stretch!
I do feel sorry for Elate because she comes in 2nd every time she races against a horse that Mike was riding. Mike also beat Elate with Abel Tasman a couple of years ago.
My only disappointment of the day was that I did not get to meet Gary Stevens. I checked out two of the broadcasters’ booths, but he was at the one in the clubhouse at the clubhouse turn yesterday and I needed to buy clubhouse tickets to get access. I believe that you had to buy those tickets ahead of time.
I can’t believe that there is only one more week left to the Saratoga meet this year. It always goes by so fast!
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Donna Z.,
What an exciting time you had! Thanks for sharing your adventure with us. Glad you got a photo of Mike and his wife. I do hope you will be able to see Gary Stevens before the meet is over.
I agree with you about Elate; she always tries so hard. Too bad it wasn’t a dead heat finish. Both deserved the win.
No more severe weather, please!
Hugs and Love
judith Berube
Dear Donna Z:
Sounds like a perfect day at the Spa, except for not getting to meet Gary S. I was rooting for Code of Honor too; love his Daddy, Noble Mission. I think Mucho Gusto ran a fine race; love his Daddy too. Thanks for sharing your wonderful day with us. Saratoga is my very favorite. Love and Hugs, JB
shirleeinindy
Donna Z,
Thanks for sharing your time at Saratoga with us. I was pulling for Mucho Gusto too. I am a horrible nutty fan of Mucho Macho Man. He finished a good 3rd which wasn’t bad. Could not be sad about Code of Honor and his team winning. Shug has always been a favorite.
Hope you get to meet Gary and have winners in the races. It has been great to have the Saratoga meet on FoxSports 2. And I am happy to see all the turf races.
