Team Z is proud to announce that Zenyatta’s chestnut colt by Tapit has been named.

Inspired by the iconic Zenyatta herself, Jerry Moss has chosen the name Ziconic for her second colt.

Ziconic = Iconic with a Z! (zīˈkänik)

    ZICONIC…….YES!

    I so wanted this colt to get a classic-sounding name, something as classy as The Icon herself.

    As a teacher, I never compared my students, even when they were siblings. I believe that every being is unique and has his/her own gifts. So what follows is NOT a comparison of Zenny’s two boys.

    Ziconic has always sent me very strong intuitive vibes. I can tell he’s like Zenny (today, not as a foal) in personality although photos don’t tell you how exactly. But he has the same look in those deep eyes that Zen has, as though he’s an old soul just like her.

    “Ziconic” captures his essence for me beautifully.

    GREAT NAME, MR. MOSS!!!! May Ziconic prosper in every dimension of his being.

      I also had vibes about Ziconic, at 4:00 am on April 1, 2013, It was unsettling how I felt when I saw his beautiful face. CoZZy, I feel is the gentle side of Zenyatta where I think Ziconic is the fierce side of Zenyatta. I feel both will do great things. Lisag

        Judy I won’t pay for ANOTHER carpet! I’ve already paid for two of ’em!

        Not really but every year seems like Judy is absolutely frazzled and to worn out to experience the utter joy of Z having safely delivered another awesome foal.

        No more coffee Aunt Judy! You’ll get blisters on your feet from all the pacing!

    Perfect! Like everything Team Z! Beautiful name for a beautiful boy. Can’t wait for the 2014 “edition”. Thank you all for sharing with us each special moment.     Perfect, perfect, perfect! What a great name for a colt who I predict will become a future icon (or Zicon!) in his sport.
