Dear Sheena,

The victory parade was amazing! They were hoping for 200,000 fans and ended up with 500,000! It was a sea of blue! The players were great when they spoke to the huge crowd. There was a master of ceremonies and he did a super job until he got to Salvy. That is where he lost control and it was hilarious from then on. Perez is such a character! Everybody loves him!

Dear Judy B; I can not find where you placed the link for video of Bentley. I must be losing it after a very long day of traveling! hah
While going back to 2, and 3 I saw your post about Hudson and Charlie. So happy for Hudson! Charlie, Charlie, Charlie, I guess some horse told him not to pester and go after the tail! Hope things heal for Charlie quickly. I am sure he felt so much better with your special treats Judy!
love and hugs, Sally B
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Sally:
I’m always so upset when I see a cut on Charlie. He’s like the Class Clown of the herd; just keeps pestering everyone. One time, a while ago, I really was upset. One of the horses bit him hard under his neck, near the jugular. That one took some time to heal. Charlie, just being Charlie.
How’s Fancy doing?
Here’s the video of Bentley and Alex. That’s Angela you hear in the background. Love and Hugs, JB

Shirlieinindy; Thanks for your input. Yes the goats are great companions to what is remaining of our horses at the sanctuary. They are a hoot at times. Blackie wanted a treat from me so he stood close looking up at me and actually put his hoof upon my knee as if he was begging for a treat! I find them in Fancy’s stall rather than their own most of the time I am there.
I guess we will just keep repairing the hay nets or buying new ones. ha We just don’t want the goats to get their heads stuck as they go in for the hay because no one may be around.
hugs, Sally B
Elizabeth in NM
Dear Sally,
Love goats! We used to have a dog named ‘Ben’ – we were driving down our road – which was in the middle of the desert at the time, and found him abandoned on one of the roads. He was a baby and quite the ‘mutt’ – so cute! But we of course brought him home, cleaned him and fed him and kept him. He would put his foot on top of one of our feet if we were outside and standing in one place for anymore than a few seconds. He was the sweetest soul. That was a long time ago, but we still think of him and miss him. thanks for your post today. Have a blessed Sunday. with love, Elizabeth

Listen, if you do not care about yourself, who is going to? If you are not acquainted with your own spirit, who will be?
Listen, there are secrets in your heart that you have refused to hear. There is strength in your mind and in your soul that you have not used.
Who told you that you would never amount to anything? Did you say it, or did you hear it said? It is a lie. You see, Spirit is the only One that knows you. Has He said you won’t make it? Never, because He knows you can. If you will only believe in yourself, if you will only take the initiative and move one step, He will move two. All you have to do is to care about yourself and your Creator.
I have nothing bad in my breast at all; everything is all right there.

The great and the good gathered at the Cenotaph this morning and held a 2minute silence to honour the dead of 2 World wars and present conflicts. Her Majesty the Queen, members of our royal family, King Willem-Alexander of Holland and Prime minister David Cameron led the nation in tribute to the fallen. The best generation gave their lives so we can live in peace.Inscribed on the cenotaph are the words “the Glorious dead” and, indeed, they are.I,also, remember the animals horses in particular who gave their lives in a conflicts not of their making. It’s a sad occasion but also a celebration of the freedom many of us cherish today. For that I am eternally grateful.RIP Sheena.
They shall not grow old
As we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them
Nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun
And in the morning
We will remember them.

Dear Sheena,
Thank you for posting part of “The Fallen” by R.L. Binyon. It is indeed a lovely poem and very poignant. It reminds me of “In Flanders Fields” by John McCrae, MD. Both are worthy tributes to all those who gave their all for the safety of the world. RIP

To be ready for new life, we must still our bodies and quiet our minds. We must lean in close to hear Him speak as we read His Word.
And when we least expect it, the ice melts and the cold gives way. The waters flow. All at His command.
New life begins as He turns our winter into spring.

The land has taken on the look of Thanksgiving time, of fallen acorns and pecans and walnuts. Now we see the bare branches of oaks like muscled arms lifted toward the sky, and fragrant smoke settles in the valley and hangs like gauzy curtains along the river.
Southbound geese, called by the Cherokee sa sa-u ni go di, still put down in the open fields to feed, to flap their huge wings, and to honk. They are not the least startled by passersby. It was a time like this when Wolf George came to my grandmother’s bearing a beautiful turkey for dinner. E li si said, “A fine turkey, good tasting. Did you raise it?” In his gruff full-blood tones he told the truth as he saw it, “No, ma’am. Saw it roosting. Got it before someone stole it.”
If any white man steal our stock, I will report it openly.

Go to Bloodhorse.com and read Steve Haskin’s article, A Day in the Kentucky Sun. A great one about meeting American Pharoah. Sorry that I don’t have the computer skills to post it here.
Does anyone know of somewhere online that I can order some Starlight mints to be shipped to my boy Lea and his buddies? Yeah, I am going to ask him to share with Blame. In the loving peaceful spirit of our sweet Queen, she would not mind.

The Secret to True Peace
via Heart To Heart With Holley
by Holley Gerth
What I’m learning is this: Peace isn’t the absence of chaos; it’s the presence of Christ. He knows as long as we live in a fallen, broken world we will go through challenges, have hard days and face obstacles that seem insurmountable.
So maybe today we pray a little differently: Instead of asking for less of what is troubling us we ask for more of what Jesus wants to give us.
Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you His peace at all times and in every situation. {2 Thess. 3:16}

Dear Kathy.I like Wolf George and his turkey! There’s a wonderful programme on TV sunday evenings called “The Hunt”.It was so sad to see Polar Bears desperately looking for food and so thin.A pack of wolves were hunting too.I always prefer to watch cats though they are quicker and cleaner when killing their prey.Lovely new pics of Treve have posted them to you.Fabulous news about Red’s new home and he is recovering so well.Dodging Bullets has had a setback and doesn’t look as if he can defend his Tingle Creek crown.Oh,Mattie is so sweet isn’t she Mango and the sissy’s adore her.Katybug chose well.Nay is off on her travels again!Poor CNSM had his van stolen yesterday and his life is in there!Even a custom made pair of the big man’s shoes everyone has been sharing the story for him so hooves crossed!Zoe looked so lovely in her patriotic dress didn’t she and Dolly had a special dress for Halloween. She looked lovely.Fubu’s Kimberly posted a pic of her hands and feet showing how badly the RA affects them.I suppose peeps complain she doesn’t visit their FB’s.My father had osteoarthritis and always thanked God he never had RA.Marty is snuggling in his sock and so am I!It’s pouring here again today but still very mild.Remember to turtle.Love and hugs to you, kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO .
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
The pics of starving polar bears are so disturbing and haunting. Thank you for the new pics of Treve, I’ll go and check them out! All good news about Red. Such a shame about Bullets. Mattie is an adorable little dog. She landed in an excellent home! Poor CNSM! I hope his luck turns around soon. Zoe has the most beautiful wardrobe. Lucky girl to have such a talented seamstress for her Mommy. I think I read that Diane has taught sewing classes for people wanting to sew for their furkids. She is one talented lady! I saw Dolly’s Halloween dress. Fancy kitty! I saw the pics of Fubu’s mom. Just looking at the pics hurts! Poor lady. Her arthritis is extreme. People should understand the situation. Marty’s sock looks very inviting. I think I’ll join him! Have a great day. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

They broke the mould when the Moore family were created.Despite 5 broken ribs and a punctured lung Gary was back in work this morning watching his horses school. He said he has to exercise in case he developes pneumonia but is taking thing easy. The horse that kicked him was a new one and doesn’t seem to like him!Sheena

Dear Sheena,
Gary needs to take some tips from JS and give his horses some special treats and
feed them with the grooms. Poor Gary I figured the horse did not like his training methods and he was new. Or the Mandella trick; peppermints after a speedy breeze.
Food is always the way to a horses good side and don’t ever turn your back to them.

Hi All,
Thanks for the links to the great articles. Adds zing to a dreary, wet, cold Monday morning here in Sacramento. I have a small brag of my own:

I am the proud breeder/owner/handler of a new AKC GRAND CHAMPION! At just 14 months old, our sweet little Lhasa Apso, Peekaboo gained her grand championship at the dog shows in Napa this weekend. Also attaining his grand championship was Fu, a handsome boy I bred and co-own. Handled by his owner. Very proud to see our little guys do so well. No vizslas this weekend, just the Lhasa Apsos!
