got my sticker last week and thinking about who will be the lucky group that gets to visit Queen Zenyatta. I always hope!
The news has been so terrible in France I have not looked at the blog for awhile. The world has such craziness in it. It really is comforting to come and see photos and articles about Zenyatta and remember all the good feelings of excitement and joy she brought to so many. Good luck to all who want to come visit our beautiful Queen Zenyatta . I’m sure many want to go as much as I do.

Things have a way of growing out of bounds in the dark of thought. But we can control them by easing them out gently, the way steam escapes the kettle. The worst thing is to feed more fuel into our emotions than we can handle. Turn off the heat and the pressure will ease.
Lay blame aside-especially self-blame. You can’t do any good if you are dwelling on what went wrong. Forgive yourself and others. Nothing removes the blocks like forgiving. This is survival time and no injustice should be harbored. Make a new beginning and don’t stop until it is done. You will know when that is.
The Great Spirit has heard me, and he knows I have spoken the truth.

Dear Kathy,
Wonderful devotional on forgiveness. Forgiveness heals the spirit of the forgiver, even when the person we’re forgiving doesn’t choose to change. Forgiveness is not ‘justice’, not saying bad behavior is OK. But it is agreeing to let God to heal the wounded heart of the forgiver and the forgiven. Even if the person we’re forgiving doesn’t let God change their heart, it’s not up to us to do that. It’s between them and God. On both sides – it is a gift offered by God. It is each person’s choice to accept the gift. Part of that acceptance is allowing Him to work to change our hearts. Without him, we can do nothing. Forgiveness accepted changes and frees the heart. When I learned this, it changed my life. No longer do I have to carry baggage from past hurts.
Hope you and everyone has a great day today. with love, Elizabeth
Kathy
Dear Elizabeth,
Unforgiveness eats away just as surely as a cancer. Thank God for His wondrous gift so freely given.

Dear Kathy.Yet more wise words from the Native Americans. As humans we all have to learn to forgive no matter how difficult. How on earth would a war end or even a domestic disagreement?Forgiveness is a great healer.
Wow it was an emotional day at Cheltenham yesterday with Sprinter back to his best. It’s been such a difficult 2yrs for him and I was so happy for Nico too. He’s always been his work rider and Barry got the glory in SS’s races.Yesterday it was his turn.Sprinter enjoyed the attention.Shock loss for Faugheen the Machine!Fubu is doing well.Mango has her paws full with Mattie but she didn’t like her being put in the playpen.I was just watching a video of Andy Crook a Middleham trainer (only 5ft 2ins)rescuing some horses from the floods. The services just left them there. We are expecting more heavy rain tonight but’s it’s still mild.
There was a minute’s silence this morning across Europe and Paris is slowly returning to normal. Our PM said the security services have foiled 7 planned attacks in the UK this year.A lot of muslims are travelling out to Syria from Belguim. The mastermind of the Paris attacks lives there. So sad.
The offices are closed today with the ratties!I will be turtling as usual.Have a great day.Love and hugs to you, kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO

Dear Sheena,
Yes, forgiveness benefits the forgiver as well as the forgiven. Wonderful news about Sprinter. Congratulations to all his connections, too. Too bad about Faugheen. Wonderful that Fubu is doing well. Mango and Mattie are just so cute together. Good for Andy Crook! You have to feel sorry for those working most closely to foil the terrorists. Talk about stress! The ratties are so smart to turtle-turtle on Mondays. Have a wonderful day. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

@kathy- loved ur devo today.?
Today’s devo:
. . . casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)
When I am anxious about being sick, I battle unbelief with the promise, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all” (Psalm 34:19). And I take the promise with trembling, “knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us” (Romans 5:3–5).
When I am anxious about getting old, I battle unbelief with the promise: “Even to your old age I am he, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save” (Isaiah 46:4).
When I am anxious about dying, I battle unbelief with the promise that “none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living” (Romans 14:7–9).
When I am anxious that I may make shipwreck of faith and fall away from God, I battle unbelief with the promises, “He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6); and, “He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7:25).
Let us make war, not with other people, but with our own unbelief. It is the root of anxiety, which, in turn, is the root of so many other sins.
So let us turn our eyes fixed on the precious and very great promises of God. Take up the Bible, ask the Holy Spirit for help, lay the promises up in your heart, and fight the good fight — to live by faith in future grace.

After the news from Paris I wasn’t in the mood for football or racing and couldn’t settle to read so I watched a favorite old movie All About Eve. Love Bette Davis and Gary Merrill. Logging on this morning and reading all the thoughts about the terrorist attack I couldn’t help but think back to Veteran Day. Now it seems we are all combatants in a war I can’t comprehend. Prayers for the victims, prayers for France and prayers for the delusional minds that don’t see the evil they do.

November 17 Cherokee Devotional
Once we have been afraid of something it is never hard to be afraid of it again. The memory hangs in the back of the mind the way an insect can get caught in a swinging fragment of spider web. Although the same experience may not come again, even its possibility is terrorizing.
Fear is our most common emotion. It is the magician’s stick that stirs the bubbling brew of all our negative feelings. Somewhere in our growing up years we learned to hide our deepest fears-but now and again we find them all over again.
Action, doing something constructive, meets fear on the darkest path and does not flinch. We give life a quiet balance when we say to fear, “You are not acceptable. I am in control and I choose freedom.”
It behooves you to learn well what you are taught here.

Dear Kathy. It’s a pity Sitting Bull wasn’t still around in these difficult times. We all have to try and go about our normal routine and not live in fear.I am grateful to live in a quietish town.I can’t imagine what it must be like for city dwellers. Some sad stories coming out of Paris a family were celebrating a birthday and 11 were killed. The pregnant woman hanging on to the window ledge was rescued.
Storm Barney has arrived today very wet and windy again! So it’s Charlie Sheen who has HIV!I thought it might be someone more well-known! Excited Vautour is running at Ascot on Saturday. He was brilliant at the festival this year but then so was Faugheen!!
Mango’s helping 2 more doggies with her carts. They were missing Katybug last night.Poor Shortie’s family are in trouble and are staying in a motel. The rats have said starbation is imminent and they need help! Ray looked cute dreaming. Not so much news from Boo lately hope all is well.Have a great day.Love and hugs to you, kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Sometimes it’s easier said than done to not live in fear. Stay safe and dry today. Can’t say I’m surprised that Charlie Sheen has tested HIV positive. Very best wishes for Vautour. Mango is to be commended for her very noble mission. The loss of Katybug is still so fresh, but I know they are comforted with their new sissy Mattie. I say the story about Shortie. Surprised they found a motel that would allow so many dogs. Somehow I think the ratties will survive, and Thanksgiving is next week! Ray was adorable dreaming he was running. Maybe we’ll hear something from Boo, Buddy and Blue soon. Happy Tuesday. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

@Sheena- thats good news about William. PUW
Today’s devo:
Put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. (Ephesians 4:24)
Christianity means change is possible. Deep, fundamental change. It is possible to become tenderhearted when once you were callous and insensitive. It is possible to stop being dominated by bitterness and anger. It is possible to become a loving person no matter what your background has been.
The Bible assumes that God is the decisive factor in making us what we should be. With wonderful bluntness, the Bible says, “Put away malice and be tenderhearted.” It does not say, “If you can…” Or: “If your parents were tender-hearted to you…” Or: “If you weren’t terribly wronged…” It says, “Be tender-hearted.”
This is wonderfully freeing. It frees us from the terrible fatalism that says change is impossible for me. It frees me from mechanistic views that make my background my destiny.
And God’s commands always come with freeing, life-changing truth to believe. For example,
God adopted us as his children. We have a new Father and a new family. This breaks the fatalistic forces of our “family-of-origin.” “Do not call anyone on earth your father; for one is your Father, He who is in heaven” (Matthew 23:9).God loves us as his children. We are “loved children.” The command to imitate the love of God does not hang in the air, it comes with power: “Be imitators of God as loved children .” “Love!” is the command and being loved is the power.God has forgiven us in Christ. Be tender-hearted and forgiving just as God in Christ forgave you. What God did is power to change. The command to be tender-hearted has more to do with what God did for you than what your mother did to you. This kind of command means you can change.Christ loved you and gave himself up for you. “Walk in love just as Christ loved you.” The command comes with life-changing truth. “Christ loved you.” At the moment when there is a chance to love and some voice says, “You are not a loving person,” you can say, “Christ’s love for me makes me a new kind of person. His command to love is just as surely possible for me as his promise of love is true for me.

Thanks bunches for this article. Everything stated in it is absolutely correct, IMHO. I do so hope that American Pharoah wins this, because, quite simply, he IS the athlete of the year! Skip Smith (Sue Robinson) named him ..he was a 4month old tb colt with a broken knee that we rescued. He is also growing like a weed and so far his knee is not bugging him …keep him in your prayers. You can keep updated with us on our Facebook page called Skip Over Trouble Equine Rescue..I would like to thank Harriet Hudson for her recent donation to our rescue ! We are now a 501c3 also .
