I hope that you are staying warm, Zenyatta! My best friend, who lives in FL, not far from Ocala where Zellda is, emailed me that she has been blanketing her horses for the past few nights.
Our temps here have been similar to Judy B’s, just a few degrees colder. It’s supposed to warm up to the 30s this weekend, though. Amy & Cappy do not like the cold and will be glad when it warms up to the 30s for highs this weekend.
To everyone following Amy, she has not improved. Dr. Mike is going to look further into things and Amy is scheduled for an x-ray next week. He’s looking to see if she has a tumor. He is almost as worried about her as I am.

Hello everyone — I have been out of the loop for quite some time now and I was wondering if someone could tell me if Zenny is expecting a 2019 foal.
I didn’t know if she “took the year off” or not.

Rather than repeat condolences for those who have left us, I would like to suggest that all Zsters go into “Hurry up and wait mode. For instance, now that she has a pretty new official name,and her very own page, when will Zellda get to use them. Although I’m pretty sure all or you are also eagerly waiting for the news of when and where she will debut, personally I hope its not until later in the year when she chronologically becomes two and perhaps goes through a bit of a growth spurt which I understand sometimes happens between two and three. Secondly, since it might come a bit sooner we can also turn our attention to Ziconic and wait to hear if he will be racing or starting a new career like brother Coz. Speaking of Coz, we can also wait to hear what’s next in his new career. Last but by no means least, we can be listening and looking to see if when and to whom Zenyatta will be bred this year. While all of you are waiting I hope you’re also staying warm. Where I live here in Oregon, its just cold enough to have ice skating rink that was once the main road into town. In fact, our driveway has been in the news twice now. Once due to traffic accident, and once due to a wind storm that knocked down two trees. Luckily no people or pets were hurt in either case except for our power pole in the first instance, and a bit of a dent and loss of a shingle or two in the second. Phew! Let our hurry up and wait time begin.

A tearful farewell to all those both horse and human who are no longer with us. Now I declare it time to officially begin what could be called the “Wait and Watch season.” Why so you may ask? Well first, now that Zellda has her new official grown-up, pretty name, plus a page to record her journey as a racehorse, when and where will she use these things in her debut? Also, we can be waiting for news of Ziconic and whether he will race at all or begin a new career as Coz did. Speaking of Coz, we can be on the lookout for news of what adventure he will embark on in that new career. Lastly, and by no means least, what about Zenyatta? Will she be bred? If so, when and to who? While we’re hurrying and waiting may all of you be safe and warm. We can also be waiting for an early, warm spring. May everyone stay safe!

A sad farewell to both horses and humans have left us not only from the old year and since the start of this new one. Now, it’s officially “Hurry up and wait time”. What is that you may ask? First of all there’s “Zellda”. Now that she has a brand new, grown-up pretty name as well as a page to record her adventures as a racehorse, the question changes and becomes when and where will she debut? Will Ziconic race again? Yay! not only does the once called Z17 have her own page, but the lovely grown-up official name Zellda. Hopefully this means we may get to see her run sometime after her chronological 2nd birthday in May. Perhaps we’ll also hear something about Ziconic and Coz as well. Speaking about new careers, what about Coz and his What adventure will he be involved in next? Finally, what about Zenyatta? Will she be bred and if so, when and to whom? Zellda is a pretty name. I’m very glad our girl now has an official, grown up name as well as an official page on Equibase. Looking forward to seeing her racing debut. I’m also looking forward to reading about Ziconic and Cosmic One and what’s in store for them. Also, I’m eagerly awaiting word on whether Zenyatta will be bred and if so when and to whom, I’m also looking forward to the Hovis/Stanley relationship. Hopefully, given some time and lots and lots of attention, Hovis will change his tune concerning the little guy. Glad Zenyatta’s little girl finally has a name. With that late birthday I am so happy to see them taking it slow and easy with her. But my goodness, what a pedigree. Talk about royalty on the hoof! Good health and happiness to this little girl. I do still have thoughts of Z Princess and what might have been.
Finally have some sunshine and a forecast for warmer weather. Wednesday was brutal. Thankfully, almost all of the area shut down. Thursday wasn’t much better and we woke up Friday morning to between 3 and 5 inches of snow! Spring Hurry!
