Dear Kathy.Hold fast that which is good.Hope the baking is going well and the pups are getting some treats!! Marty is a Christmas Angel(new photo cover) and he still loves his chocolate.Have you seen him on cuteness overload?I forgot about the sales on Friday,we already have some pre-Christmas but our big sales start on Boxing day and into the New Year. Those gorgeous puppies it is so sad so many animals are unwanted in this world but Charlie found a home after a complete makeover!I hate to see an animal shiver with fright,
Such a touching pic on Joey with the boy crying and the angel cat laying by his side. Our pets always watch over us.Grumpy cat is even grumpier(if that’s possible) there’s another sourpuss called Garfi who lives in Turkey he’s an orange Persian has become an internet sensation!!Fubu is enjoying his holidays he’s the King of the castle!Have a great day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly, Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.
Baking is going well. The sugar cookies are all baked and decorated. Got the Snickerdoodle dough ready yesterday and I’m getting ready to bake that today. Also will do the peanut butter cookies if I don’t run out of energy. The pups ALWAYS get some treats. That adorable pic of Marty is bittersweet. Feeling so bad for his mom and dad. They must miss him so much. When the time is right I hope they will adopt a new rat. I will be staying far away from the stores. The only buying I will be doing might be online. I’ll have to see. So glad for Charlie’s makeover and rejoicing that he got a home. The pic on Joey of the little boy crying and the angel cat reaching out to him brought tears to my eyes. I imagine all our furbabies who have crossed Rainbow Bridge reaching out to us like that. Grumpy Cat is pretty funny. Poor baby with that expression on his face all the time. Will look for Garfi. Continues happy holidays to Fubu. Have a wonderful day. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy.
Dear friends,
I wanted to clarify that El Vino, who had been retired to Florida by his owner, left us after a tragic paddock accident back in January of this year. There were several posts here at the time about his death. It has been a long year with many losses, and I’m sorry if some people are just learning about this now. Cynthia Holt maintains his FB page and provides loads of interesting information about some of his contemporaries as well as great horses from the past. It is well worth a read.
Sandy
The death has been announced of Lady Herries, daughter of the 16th Duke of Norfok and wife of the late cricketer Colin Cowdrey,Trainer of 1994 champion juvenile Celtic Swing and many fine horses.Typically British.RIP.Sheena.
Also in my thoughts and prayers Australian cricketer Phil Hughes critically injured when a ball hit his head.Hugs Sheena.
Dear Judy Thank You so much for posting. So Happy about this.
Now, we just got to get Charismatic back. I know Michael has said he wants to get him back.
So glad Silver Charm is coming home, little SC must be bubbling over to see his namesake across the fence. I too will be so happy when Michael gets Charismatic back too.
I voted today for California Chrome for the Vox Populi award. Mainly because of one of the qualifications being a horse that brought “increased excitement and attention to the sport” and also I just love that goofball. I like Dan too but not sure he brought increased interest to the occasional fan type. JMO of course. Either horse would be a worthy recipient.
No question. It’s Dan all the way. He’s the most interesting horse in the world. That horse can do anything. He survived two career threatening illnesses, one a life threatening one. All of his races showed his true courage and heart, and a will to win against all odds. Thrilling every single time. Dan brings it. He represents what a racehorse should be.
Great peeps too. Morton Fink has done a lot for racing over 40 years. He also deserves to accept the award for Dan.
Max,
I just went to the site and voted for Dan The Man. All of the others are worthy but none as enduring and exciting as him. Pretty sure he will win it.

The most interesting horse in the world (after Zenyatta of course) got my vote. Wise Dan the man.
I too voted for Dan the Man, he is just so amazing. So many good ones to chose from though, love Chromey, Ben’ s Cat, just a bunch of great horses, but I can’t pass up Dan.
A special shout out to all my beloved sisters here on the blog!

Have to buy my vegetables to roast today after work. We get off early…3:00! 2 hours Administratvie leave so I won’t have to use vacation time. Yay! Finished baking my 2 other kinds of cookies yesterday. I’m feeling very accomplished! Loved Joey so much.Missing him terribly. It was amazing to see the pic of Marty in his little cage. As someone else commented, she never remembered seeing him caged. He was certainly a free spirit and brought so much joy. Mango is a dear…always thinking of others. You mentioned COD…I remember it well! A very popular way to buy things in yesteryear. Sorry for Zoe’s mom with all that loss and sickness they talked about yesterday. The dog going to the park was adorable. So many reported they would rather meet Boo over Liam. I’m with them, there. I also was a Beatles fan. Good times! Have a great day, my beloved sister. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy.

I hope everyone has a blessed and peaceful thanksgiving. May everyone have a peaceful day. Prayers for those suffering illness, loss and loneliness.
I voted for California Chrome. Here’s this $10,000 rags-to-riches colt owned by a couple of old farts who took the world by storm. He gave us a chance at the Triple Crown & got the whole world talking about US horse racing. I think the other horses are great, too, but Chromie has star quality & he should win.
Dear Sandy (NE Ohio)
Thank-you for recommending the facebook page Cynthia Holt has so lovingly put together for El Vino.I read about present and past posts and it touched my heart and helped me to learn about this wonderful horse who played an important part in the legacy of Zenyatta.
Dear Sheena
Fingers crossed that Albert will win the Hero Award, such a great story!!
Most of all, warm wishes to allr Z friends in the U.S. for a Happy Thanksgiving and best wishes for a lovely celebration with family and friends tomorrow.!!
Hmmn, I wonder if Coz will be getting yams like his mother used to get from John. I want to wish everyone a very blessed, happy and safe Thanksgiving. And, the same for Black Friday if any are participants. Love to all.
Marty R–I did not know about the yams. They are a bona fide health food, though.
Happy Thanksgiving to all, and hoping you all have a blessed day, whether you have a big crowd or you are alone. We are practically alone–just the 3 of us, but you wouldn’t know it from the goings on in the kitchen!
Thanks again to all at Team Z, Lane’s End, and the Mosses and Sherriffs! We are so thankful for our Z-family
Oh, Barbara, I wish I remembered better, but it seems there was a video back in the Diary days of John with chunks or slices of raw yams for the horses. Zenyatta, being our star, was shown getting her yam treats and she was enloying them. She was getting them by hand, not a tub full, as I recollect.

Dear Marty:

Will remind Branaby about just what Thanksgiving IS and tell him how very thankful I am to have HIM!
Hi all my special Zsters, I have missed reading posts for the past few days and I hope all is well with each one of you. Have a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving!!!
hugs, Sally B
p.s.
I just spent almost 3 hours out at our horse sanctuary as others had to leave town for the holiday. I really love hanging out with the horses, but my back with the work does not. When I left, however, I know they will have a pleasant evening and less for those who volunteered to come and feed am and pm on Thanksgiving Day. I only have to make a dish and bring a dessert tomorrow; my Thanksgiving is this Saturday when I’ll be stressed out for the big feast.
Zenyatta, I love you and all of your young. I am so thankful for knowing you, for team Z because of the graciousness of Ann & Jerry, sharing you and your young with me (us Zsters here) I am grateful for your wonderful care and I know deep in my heart that it is because God has blessed you too. I pray he will continue to bless you and your young because he has one sweetheart above working for him and he should not need another.
Happy Thanksgiving Z and all
Love n hugs forever, stay warm

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. One of the blessings I am happy for is Zenyatta & all she has done to bring her fans together on this blog where we have formed friendships. Thank you to the Ann & Jerry, Team Z & Land’s End for sharing Z with us & keeping us informed of her & her offspring with news & pictures.
On a sad note, I do have a request for prayers for my dog, Amy. I brought her to the vet today for what was supposed to be minor surgery to remove a clip from the site of her ACL surgery earlier this year & it turned into major surgery. The vet found out that Amy had fractured one of the little bones that are part of the knee & he had to re-stabilize the knee again. We are starting from scratch again with another 6 week rehab. Poor Amy is on three legs again for awhile until the injury heals. thank you, everyone.
Donna,
Sending healing prayers for you dear Amy, so sad she has to go thru this all over again but dogs are resilient and I’m sure she will be back to normal soon. PUA. Hugs
