I never had much hope for Cozmic One. My hopes are pinned on Ziconic to carry on the tradition that Zenyatta set – maybe not unbeaten (until that bitter end for her) but he will carry the torch in my opinion. I never did understand why they bred her to Bernardini in the first place. I can’t wait for Ziconic to run!!
I totally agree with you. Am so waiting for Ziconic to bloom. He is one handsome guy. And so is Coz. But never saw a spark with him. Give such kudos to John S for having the patience with Coz and also with Eblouissante. I feel she just really did not want to be a race horse. She wants to be a “show horse”. Ziconic seems to be a teeny bit less problematic. Hope so. And can’t wait for Z to maybe have another filly by War Front.
It is sad that we are quick to jump ship when things don’t go right. Yes, Coz has not found his stride but he will and all will be well with him, Ride or die am a Coz fan all the way no matter what his brother does. If indeed we love the Queen, we will encourage and support her off spring to the bitter end. A little compassion will be nice. I still believe in him and God will help him to put to shame his nay sayers. It is still well at Z Nation, and first Prince will be fine. Bernie was a fine horse in his own right. Enough said.
Maybe that’s why the first Prince is not running well with you and others not believing in him. What if someone had told you when you were young they did not believe in you and that you would not amount to much how would you feel. Yes, he is a horse but some faith and some Blessings going his way would be nice. So, how long will it take you to jump ship when second prince does not live up to your expectations?. It’s called patience and nurturing. With or without your faith and belief in him, he will do well IJHN. Enough said. It is still well at Z Nation, Have a Blessed night.
I will admit to absolutely adoring Ziconic and feeling that he is something extremely special and rare from the first pictures I saw of him, but I also think it’s way too early to throw in the towel on Coz. He reminds me of a horse who had a terrible beginning during his debut 3 year old season but went on to become a legend. His name was Seabiscuit. Let’s cut Cozzy a break; I think he’ll get the gist of racing eventually, but I also think he’d do better on grass.
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Deb E:
Great example, the beloved Seabiscuit. Love and Hugs, JB
I thought so too; maybe he was not quite ready at the jump and it was very fast fractions for the quarter and the half, I think. Not making excuses, just what I observed. Also, he was positioned on the inside to the outside and back again. Just glad he got through it. Here’s the replay. Love and Hugs, JB
JudyB. Thank you for posting this. See what you mean. Wish that Coz had done better but he was not alone. Most of these horses were not really sure what to do. Takes time to learn. Gotta love all of them. They are babies.
Thank you dear Max, for the kind words, it will be well with first Prince, am sure of it. He was born to run, at the age he is now his mother had no clue what to do too and they had to give her more time. Maybe we are rushing this a little, but he will be fine, keep the faith. It is always well at Z Nation, Good night and God’s Blessings always.
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Max:
Absolutely. I too believe COZ is still learning and growing and will figure it out. What a beautiful sight it is to see him in motion, tail flying. He’s going to put it all together with JS guiding him. Way too soon to count him out as a racehorse. He’s had impressive works, he was calm and collected in the paddock and in the gate. He’s coming along nicely. Pray he stays safe and sound; that above all else. Love and Hugs, JB
Thank you Ingrid, let the few of us who still believe in him keep the faith and encourage him to understand what he has to do. It will be well with first Prince, God’s Blessings is wished you always. Good night.

I agree Ingrid! Come on guys! He beat a couple horses this time! Next time it will be better. Have faith! Love you Coz!
Dear Judy,
I am not sure he is competative. You are right the pace was very fast. Indian Trail
full brother to uncle mo is naturally fast and two others were fast as well. Glad JS is patient, too.

Tizgood, keep the faith with me please, First Prince will be fine and we will all be there to cheer him on.. It will come if we keep the faith. Have a good night.
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Tizgood:
As we know, not all TBs have that competitive edge, but we’ll have to wait and see. JS is patient and kind and he’ll sense what Cozzie’s telling him. Love and Hugs, JB
Judy,
Thank you for posting replay. I like studying what is going on by watching several times.
I wonder what John Shiriffs thought of Coz’s race; I wonder what John wanted in this race after working with him after the first race.
I trained a bloodhound to a first and third placement in obedience; Many people made remarks like I hear from some here. It took us longer; many others got their cd’s long before we did. It took us many more training hours; And it took serendipity to finding the ‘right’ motivator. For our bloodhound it happened to be oatmeal–he would do anything for oatmeal.
Our results were not perfect but watching him ‘enjoy’ retrieving, heeling, etc. was worth the time and work.
I am giving Coz time to mature; John time to find the motivator; and all Zfans time to enjoy the journey (as kindly shared by team Coz).
Thank you again for posting. I am enjoying watching it many times.
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear lin:
You’re so welcome. Good for you; patience is so important and congrats on your success with your dog. I think you’re spot on about COZ. Love and Hugs, JB
Dear Shirleeinindy, thank you so much for that. God’s Blessings is wished you always. It is well at Z Nation and first Prince will be just fine. I believe.
The changes CC’s been through lately no doubt have effected his holding weight. Hopefully, he will settle in and eat well and gain some weight before the Arlington Million on 8/15/15. Hope his foot is healed. Love and Hugs, JB
Sheena from Wales, you really should be more respectful of The Mosses who own Zenny and her boys, part of Team Z who financially support this site and provide us with the honor and privilege to comment here freely, even if not about Zenyatta which is often the case with you. I have been coming here since it began years ago as others have, and appreciate what Team Z has sacrificed in terms of their contribution to the industry and the needy public. The Mosses put a lot of thought into breeding with Z and expand on her great legacy which is their right as owners. They have also trusted John and Dottie to make the best training and management decisions for them. Enough said. Sure others agree.
Coz is beautiful and so loved by everyone. We all want him to do well. Hopefully, he is just a late bloomer; however, it may be time to try something different with him.
Perhaps Coz does not, as yet, “have his head in the gane”. The power is there, he just needs more time to decide to use it…Let him mature – he is still very young…
Didn’t see the race because I have access to HRTV and they switched to TVG for his race. John needs to read you the story of John Henry. People didn’t think he’d make it. We still believe in you, Coz. Hang in there. YOU ARE A WINNER!!!
Dear Donna H, thank you so very much, for that. It breaks my heart when I read some of the comments, I totally believe in the first Prince’s abilities, he will figure it out and we will be there to cheer him home. If we love Queen Zenyatta then we should be supporting her off springs instead of all the negativity thats drowning even me.
Again, thank you and lets keep the Faith in our First Prince. Have you a restful night. God’s Blessings always. It is always well at Z Nation.
Coz came in 7th. However this time he ran a much, much better race and passed a couple of other horses. Also, on his way to the post, it almost looked like he was trying out a few of his mom’s dance steps. If everybody will just rest their packs and stand at ease, I’m sure they will continue to see this boy improve.
Thank you Zowie starr, thank you. It is well with First Prince and I thank you for keeping the faith. God’s Blessings is wished you always and it is well at Z Nation,
Thank you dear Dan, my sentiments exactly. In one of my posts, I said the same thing. Thank you for keeping the faith and as the trumpet rolls one day, we will be there to cheer home our First Prince as he crosses the finish line first. I still Believe. God’s Blessings is wished you always. It is still well at Z Nation.
Amen to that Linda, let us keep the faith and cheer on our very own first Prince to victory. If we keep the faith, it will come. All the negative talk helps nothing. Thank you for still believing in our Boy, and we will be there to cheer him home when he wins his first race.
God’s Blessings are wished you always. It is still well at Z Nation and First Prince will be just fine.
Darn, was hoping for more, but one thing is for sure he’s beautiful and was best looking horse in the race. Maybe with more maturity the light bulb will go on. If not, I’m sure his royal bloodlines will be utilized.
Thank you Andeline. Thank you for keeping the faith in our first prince. Like Max stated, all around him started racing late. He is a big boy and needs to grow into his own and mature. He was born to run, and will put to shame all those nay sayer’s when that day comes. It is well with our First Prince and always well at Z Nation.
On the day the trumpet rolls, we will be at the finish line to cheer our prince to victory when he crosses the finish line first. I believe.
God’s Blessings is wished you always, have a good nights rest.
It is my understanding that Street Cry, Coz’s grand-sire, did not start performing until he was four. Anyone else on this site have that understanding?
Street Cry had not race more than once as a 3 year old because he was ill. He did well in his 4th year, winning the Stephen Foster and the Whitney, prestige races.
I looked up Street Cry’s race record. He was never out of the money. In his first race as a two year old he ran 2nd and broke his maiden next time out. He probably won most his money as a four year old, but he did well as a two and three year old as well.
Every dog has his day and we all have different paces. In my culture there is this sayings that goes like this, ‘Whenever one wakes up, that is his morning’. So true, because they understand that we all have different paces, some bloom early and are trail blazers and some later. All I ask is allow first Prince to grow into his own at his own pace while we keep the faith in him. There can only be one Queen Zenyatta, one Secretariate.
God’s Blessings is wished you alway and it is still well at Z Nation. Our First Prince will be just fine IJHN. Amen.
I felt sick that I missed seeing the race….thank you Judy for the replay link….each race
is a learning experience for sure. Perhaps blinkers might help Coz focus and ignore what’s going on around him? Hang in there Coz…..you are magnificent and everyone
believes in you.
Kisses and hugs to beautiful Queen Z, Coz, Zi, and Z Princess “on wings of a butterfly”
Thank you, thank you, thank you for keeping the faith in our First Prince and still believing in him. I always feel saddened by some of the negative comments, where is the good will and Blessings flowing to him?. He will be fine though if those of us who believe in him continue to keep the faith. If we believe, it will come, ie the wins and we will be there to cheer him home as he crosses the finish line first.
God’s Blessings always is wished you. It is always well at Z Nation. Have a good nights rest.
It looked to me as if Coz hated having dirt hitting him. The announcers on TVG commented that it might be a good idea to try him on the grass. That was my thought during the race.
So true, that was the same thing with seabiscuit, he initially did not understand that he had to pass the rest of the horses and when he did with the help of a horse whisperer, the rest was history. Thank you for keeping the faith in our very own First Prince, he was born to run and IJHN he will do just that.
God’s Blessings are wished you always. It is still well at Z Nation, Have a good night.
Perhaps Coz could watch some videos of racing while talking with an animal communicator (and his favorite people?) about the ideas of competition and winning that are behind it, and that his humans would enjoy him being the horse in front at the end of the race. Horses are very good at observing what’s going on around them, but maybe a view with more perspective would clue him in about the point of what’s happening in a race. So far, he’s just down there on the track with the other horses, so maybe can’t see the “forest” for the “trees,” and may think it’s just about running around in a group with the others.
While they are at it, and considering the links to women in his birth date (Purim, International Women’s Day), he could be asked about his gender preferences in jockeys…lol!
Thank You Dear Lord. Coz so happy you got back to the Barn safely. Have been so worried. But Coz I can smile now. Just to share with you. I just watched an old episode of the Andy Griffis show. A goat had swallowed some Dynamite and Andy and Barney were trying to get it out of town safely. They had put it in Otis’s Cell till they could figure out how to do this. Otis came in drunk and went in the cell and laid down. Later he woke up and saw the goat and asked Andy and Barney what in the world was that goat doing there. They told him the goat had eaten some Dynamite. Otis said you mean that is a “loaded” goat. He flew back in the cell and went under the hay in the cell.
Coz I’m laughing and so happy. Your safe. You know how me and you talked. Had to share this funny with you. Yeah we could use some of Terry’s jokes now.
Coz, this day is OK now. So happy your safe, but will still pray everything is OK tomorrow. And, I bet you will get better and better. But, if you in time don’t like racing I just bet you will tell John.
Smiling now, and love you always Coz.
Love, Peggy
Coz let me clarify, I was laughing about the Goat. I thought this is great I am smiling and able to laugh tonight because you made it back OK. That show is so funny.
Dear Peggy, thank you so much for keeping the faith in first Prince and thank you for the goat joke. Of cause, he understood you were laughing about the goat as his fav aunty will never laugh at him. Thank you and have a good nights rest. It is always well at Z Nation.
Thank you dear Ingrid for keeping the faith. Have a good nights rest and very soon we will cheer as he crosses the finish line first. It will happen if we continue to keep the faith and believe. God’s Blessings are wished you always. It is still well at Z Nation,
Sheena, your comment was that you did not feel bad for the Mosses at all, just the horse Coz. These horses are not household pets, though respected and loved as demonstrated by Jerry and Ann’s visits with treats and photos. This is a business like any other industry. The purpose is to make a living as either an owner, trainer, jockey, and for others connected who enjoy this sport. That is the reality of it all.The Mosses, as other horse owners, breed their mares hoping to produce a successful winning offspring. Lots goes into boarding and caring. Perhaps Coz does not have the instinct and drive to race. No guarantees in any mating. This is the point I am trying to make. This site had educated us over the years on so much of what goes into the commitment of owning a racehorse and I am so grateful and learned a lot.
Maybe they will try Coz on the grass next, as I watch his work outs he has a beautiful long stride. As big as he is he may need time to grow into himself and to mature mentally. He is not the first race horse that maybe a late bloomer. I am just happy that he can back in good shape and ready to run another day.
I saw the picture of CC on facebook and I felt it was either a very bad picture of CC or it looked like his time overseas had taken a toll on him. Hopefully they will give him some time and groceries to bring him back to his old beautiful self.
I think CC is very thin and has lost quite a bit of muscle. When you look at his workouts before “all of this”, he was very muscular and just wonderful looking. His neck looks so thin and it was always one of his strongest features. This horse needs to rest and rebuild.
Coz was absolutely the best looking horse. I’m hoping he is a late bloomer like his mom.
As for Chrome, the Dumb Ass Partners are just that. All I’ve heard is he is Americas horse. Well he’s been out of America since March, and sadly he looks like a stray. I just cried when I saw how thin he is. What a shame. And they expect him to run soon??? He needs to be at home at Los Al, around people who love him and with some serious groceries. Poor guy. Just breaks my heart.
Dear Team Z.Thank you and Mr&Moss for allowing me to post here about all our 4 legged friends even the 2 legged feathered variety!Of course racing is a business but if I always thought that way all the pleasure I get out of horse racing would disappear! We often say in the UK “flat is for the head and jumps are for the heart”I am a jumps girl through and through! Many wet, cold winter days watching a chaser and jockey as one flying over those fences brings such joy to my heart. No amount of money can buy that feeling!Wishing Coz all the best!I may not always be PC but I mean well.Love and hugs SheenaX
You are one of the sweetest, kindest Z’sters who shares a love of Zenyatta, her babies, horses, dogs and all animals. Always enjoy your posts and your enthusiasm for the “jumpers”. I have learned so much from you and Max about racing in the UK. Love and Hugs, JB
Like Penny Chenery said-don’t blame the horse!!!!! (paraphrased)
I’m not a fair weather fan. While some here never saw ‘win’ in Coz, I always did and still do. But he’s not a baby anymore and it’s clear that some ppl changes need to be made.
Hey Coz, I caught you dancing like mama before the race*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*++*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*++*++*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+***+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+**+*+*+*+*+*+*+**++*+*+*+*+*+*+**+*+*+*+*+**++*+*+*+*+*+*+**+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*++*+***++*+*+*+*+*+*+*+**+*+**+**++*+*+*+*++**+*+*+*++*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*What handsome footwork !!!!!

to Coz
So sorry, Jerry and Ann. We’re all a lil discouraged, but don’t give up. We’re with you.
Thanks for the video, Judy Berube! I look at it this way – Coz wasn’t last, so he’s improving! Maybe he’s not a miler, maybe he’s a sprinter….maybe try Mike Smith in the saddle? Or Victor Espinoza – he seems to have the magic (Triple C!) touch…. as long as Coz is healthy and happy, that’s all that matters to me – we the fans have put a big legacy onto the first-born. Let’s give him time to grow into it! But I love him no matter what!
I’m glad most of the comments about Coz are supportive and only a few condemning him. He is still a big kid and I don’t think he has totally figured it out yet. How soon we forget how old Zenny was (4) before she even started. And this constant comparison to Zi is pointless, every horse is different and Zi is not as big as CoZ and has matured faster at his age then Coz did. I hope we hear some comments from John this time I would like to hear what he is thinking. Don’t worry mama Zen I still love your first boy and have faith he will get it together.
Thank you for your succinctly worded post. We Believers will stand tall and firm with First Prince who will definitely get it right one day soon and we will all be there to cheer him home. Am sure the Mosses are not discouraged. It is a journey and their belief in first Prince will be rewarded. Like you said, the constant comparison of the 2 princes are pointless as they are different horses with different fathers and personalities. First prince is huge and will figure out how to control him large frame. It is always well at Z Nation and first Prince will be just fine.
Dream dreams and see visions. Not the black ones-but images of plenty, pictures of being totally well, fully secure.
Dream that the horse chestnut tree is in full bloom, that the stone basin is overflowing with pure water, that the flood at its high point is carrying off the debris of life.
If a dream is frightening and wrong, go over it bit by bit and change it. Get rid of the damaging catalysts and reach higher. Build good dreams. Lift out the cobwebs-don’t smash them. Life is putty in your hand-shape it.
I am an Indian and looked upon by the whites as a foolish man-but it must be because I followed their advice.

Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Shirlee:
Yes, was a very competitive field. Looking forward to COZ’s next race. Love and Hugs, JB
Dan
And how old was Z when she started racing!!!!!!!!!!!!
maureen ph[llips
Thank you dear Dan, my sentiments exactly. In one of my posts, I said the same thing. Thank you for keeping the faith and as the trumpet rolls one day, we will be there to cheer home our First Prince as he crosses the finish line first. I still Believe. God’s Blessings is wished you always. It is still well at Z Nation.
Linda in NJ
I agree with those that said Coz needs more time to put this altogether. His workouts seem to show lots of promise.
The most important thing is he came back safe.
Love you Coz!!
maureen ph[llips
Amen to that Linda, let us keep the faith and cheer on our very own first Prince to victory. If we keep the faith, it will come. All the negative talk helps nothing. Thank you for still believing in our Boy, and we will be there to cheer him home when he wins his first race.
God’s Blessings are wished you always. It is still well at Z Nation and First Prince will be just fine.
Karen R.
Darn, was hoping for more, but one thing is for sure he’s beautiful and was best looking horse in the race. Maybe with more maturity the light bulb will go on. If not, I’m sure his royal bloodlines will be utilized.
Andeline
Getting better every step of the way. Hang in there Coz!
maureen ph[llips

Max
Street Cry had not race more than once as a 3 year old because he was ill. He did well in his 4th year, winning the Stephen Foster and the Whitney, prestige races.
Karen R.
I looked up Street Cry’s race record. He was never out of the money. In his first race as a two year old he ran 2nd and broke his maiden next time out. He probably won most his money as a four year old, but he did well as a two and three year old as well.
maureen ph[llips
Every dog has his day and we all have different paces. In my culture there is this sayings that goes like this, ‘Whenever one wakes up, that is his morning’. So true, because they understand that we all have different paces, some bloom early and are trail blazers and some later. All I ask is allow first Prince to grow into his own at his own pace while we keep the faith in him. There can only be one Queen Zenyatta, one Secretariate.
God’s Blessings is wished you alway and it is still well at Z Nation. Our First Prince will be just fine IJHN. Amen.
Lori W. (SoCal)
I felt sick that I missed seeing the race….thank you Judy for the replay link….each race
is a learning experience for sure. Perhaps blinkers might help Coz focus and ignore what’s going on around him? Hang in there Coz…..you are magnificent and everyone
believes in you.
Kisses and hugs to beautiful Queen Z, Coz, Zi, and Z Princess “on wings of a butterfly”
maureen ph[llips
Dear Lori W(So Cal).
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Lori:
You’re so welcome. Love and Hugs, JB
Ann Segrest
It looked to me as if Coz hated having dirt hitting him. The announcers on TVG commented that it might be a good idea to try him on the grass. That was my thought during the race.
Deb E.
Mine too.
sue and tony
Time will tell how our Coz progresses from here. Maybe he just doesn’t understand he has to pass those other horses!
maureen ph[llips
Dear Sue and Tony,
So true, that was the same thing with seabiscuit, he initially did not understand that he had to pass the rest of the horses and when he did with the help of a horse whisperer, the rest was history. Thank you for keeping the faith in our very own First Prince, he was born to run and IJHN he will do just that.
God’s Blessings are wished you always. It is still well at Z Nation, Have a good night.
SaraT
Very glad all came home safe! For next time:
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Love, Peggy
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Coz let me clarify, I was laughing about the Goat. I thought this is great I am smiling and able to laugh tonight because you made it back OK. That show is so funny.
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Peggy:
Always loved that show too. You’re so right, JS and COZ will know. Love and Hugs, JB
maureen ph[llips
Dear Peggy, thank you so much for keeping the faith in first Prince and thank you for the goat joke. Of cause, he understood you were laughing about the goat as his fav aunty will never laugh at him. Thank you and have a good nights rest. It is always well at Z Nation.
Ingrid Arnone
Don’t you worry Coz, is always tomorrow.
You look so handsome running, you are beautiful.
I love you.
maureen ph[llips
Thank you dear Ingrid for keeping the faith. Have a good nights rest and very soon we will cheer as he crosses the finish line first. It will happen if we continue to keep the faith and believe. God’s Blessings are wished you always. It is still well at Z Nation,
Faithful Zenyatta Supporter
This site had educated us over the years on so much of what goes into the commitment of owning a racehorse and I am so grateful and learned a lot.
quarterhossgal
Maybe they will try Coz on the grass next, as I watch his work outs he has a beautiful long stride. As big as he is he may need time to grow into himself and to mature mentally. He is not the first race horse that maybe a late bloomer. I am just happy that he can back in good shape and ready to run another day.
I saw the picture of CC on facebook and I felt it was either a very bad picture of CC or it looked like his time overseas had taken a toll on him. Hopefully they will give him some time and groceries to bring him back to his old beautiful self.
Jane Cabrinha
I think CC is very thin and has lost quite a bit of muscle. When you look at his workouts before “all of this”, he was very muscular and just wonderful looking. His neck looks so thin and it was always one of his strongest features. This horse needs to rest and rebuild.
Donna Alsabrook

Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Sheena:
You are one of the sweetest, kindest Z’sters who shares a love of Zenyatta, her babies, horses, dogs and all animals. Always enjoy your posts and your enthusiasm for the “jumpers”. I have learned so much from you and Max about racing in the UK. Love and Hugs, JB
zfansandy

LuvGus
Thanks for the video, Judy Berube! I look at it this way – Coz wasn’t last, so he’s improving! Maybe he’s not a miler, maybe he’s a sprinter….maybe try Mike Smith in the saddle? Or Victor Espinoza – he seems to have the magic (Triple C!) touch…. as long as Coz is healthy and happy, that’s all that matters to me – we the fans have put a big legacy onto the first-born. Let’s give him time to grow into it! But I love him no matter what!
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear LuvGus:
You’re so welcome. Love and Hugs, JB
Sue Fredrick Happy as a lark
I’m glad most of the comments about Coz are supportive and only a few condemning him. He is still a big kid and I don’t think he has totally figured it out yet. How soon we forget how old Zenny was (4) before she even started. And this constant comparison to Zi is pointless, every horse is different and Zi is not as big as CoZ and has matured faster at his age then Coz did. I hope we hear some comments from John this time I would like to hear what he is thinking. Don’t worry mama Zen I still love your first boy and have faith he will get it together.
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Sweet Sue:
Me too. Love and Hugs, JB
maureen ph[llips
Dear Sue Fredrick,
Thank you for your succinctly worded post.
Have you a wonderfully Blessed day.
