Happy Tuesday!

Cozmic One has been away at school in sunny Ocala for two and a half weeks now. He and his jolly ball are settled in to a stall with an opening so he can see and say “hi” to fellow students. On October 8, he started learning lessons like wearing a saddle, working on a lunge line, and adjusting to a rider. We’ll keep you updated about his progress.

I would recognize that butt anywhere! Not quite as big and muscular yet, but definitely looks like mom’s hind end. Lots to look forward to over the next several months. Little Red growing up, Mama Z expecting her War Front colt…we are so blessed to be able to be a small part of watching the Zenyatta saga continue. Thanks again for the update. It is so appreciated. Always makes my day for any bit of news. :-)

          Dear Max:

I’m three quarters done with packing and signing the lease on the new apartment today. Moving day is next Wednesday. I am very tired, but looking forward to next week.

Visited Charlie and Hudson on Saturday; they are both doing fine. Won’t see them again now until I’m settled in the new place and then I hope to be more hands on in helping Angela with chores and maybe grooming too. I have a lot to learn.

Thank you so much for asking. Love you and my Z Family. Hugs, JB

Judy, glad your move is coming along. I have always hated it, except it’s good to get rid of stuff I don’t need, but don’t have the motivation to deal with, until I have to — which a move is good for. And nice you’ll be able to be more involved with the horses, once you recover after next week.

    Dear Coz
Hey we really appreciate you asking Mayberry Farms to send us some school pics of you. You look awesome. I bet you are right at othe head of your class. How do you like the other kids. It’s kind of hard to get use to being away from home but then you meet others in the same situation and you begin to have a lot of fun.

I bet your teachers are very strict. That’s good Coz because that teaches you discipline.

Well make sure you get a good night sleep every night. Not too much partying, okay.

Study hard Coz. Every lesson is very valuable. But most important Coz, remember this, we all love you and are cheering you on. You go Coz!!!! You go!!!

Hi my Zster friends and to those who saw message about Mia and wished me the best wishes and prayers for her. I actually teared up to know we all are here for one another! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Wow, sleepless two nights!
Surgery went well, but they could not retrieve one small pipe cleaner and said they hope it will pass. Last night she still did not eat and therfore not poop, she was not drinking either. I so tired with stress fell asleep but awoke at 3 p.m. thinking and praying that she was not eating because she was not at home. Husband & I went there this morning and I brought some bland boiled chicken and rice along as they said I may want to do. She was so happy to see us and eventually ate some of the food. They said they could keep her over for another night if we were uncomfortable with going home with her not quite yet normal, but we brought her home and now she wants to eat all the small portions and more!! But, as with pain meds she is keep quiet like she needs to be and we have been on the floor right next to her. Eventually we will need to put on that cone for the night.
I always viewed Mia as my sons dog but since I was with her during her puppy stages and now a few days every week, some how she snuck into my heart and I could not bare to lose her. I never thought I would chose a german sheperd, I thought it was time for a smaller dog! Hear I am really loving a dog again since I lost my black lab Jessie. So far so good!! I hope that small piece of pipe cleaner passes!! Thank you my dear Zsters friends, hugs
and love in Dumplingland, Sally B

I think that Zenyatta will always take precedence. She is so remarkable that no other horse in recent times comes close to her racing prowess or the strength of her personality. She will probably always be the star power in the breeding equation or in any discussion of her offspring.

Here is a chuckle for everyone.

    THE TINY CABIN

A social worker from a big city in Massachusetts recently transferred to
the mountains of West Virginia and was on the first tour of her new
territory when she came upon the tiniest cabin she had ever seen in her
life. Intrigued, she went up and knocked on the door.

    “Anybody home?” she asked.

“Yep,” came a kid’s voice through the door.

“Is your father there?” asked the social worker.

“Pa? Nope, he left afore Ma came in,” said the kid.

“Well, is your mother there?” persisted the social worker.

“Ma? Nope, she left just afore I got here,” said the kid.

“But,” protested the social worker, (thinking that surely she will need to intervene in this situation) “are you never together as a family?”

“Sure, but not here,” said the kid through the door. “This is the outhouse!”

    Dear all,

Good morning, just saw the article on our own dear Prince CoZmic One, I am blown away with how Handsome he is looking. He looks all so grown up and so, so, handsome.! His posture is fantastic, reminds me of his father when he won the 2006 Travers.

Wishing our dear Prince the very best of school. He looks like he is having fun and it is good to note that he is not throwing tantrums , which is surprising to me giving that he was a handful as a kid. Must have gotten his mama’s calm genes not that his father was a drama queen, he was pretty even headed and did all that was expected of him.!

Wishing all the best day ever, and Mia, continued good health,.

Wow! Coz looks a little uncomfortable to me with having someone on his back. I can’t believe he’s really at school now and can hardly wait to see him on the track. I so appreciate all that the connections do for the Z family here.

Saw a replay of the Queen’s 2009 Clement Hirsch on TVG yesterday. Seen it I can’t even count how may times and I still get the same thrill seeing her race. I do miss that. When Zenyatta was on the track no other horse could come close to her physical appearance. She was perfection itself. She was and still is a champion and always will be my horse of every year.

So very, very sad to hear about Take Control (Valenzeri — born to Azeri on Valentine’s Day). Azeri was the first horse we fell in love with. Visited her often even in her paddock as San Luis Rey Downs where she trained. Take Control was her first foal, the son of two Horses of the Year, and an absolute beauty. We visited him often in Del Mar and also Sta. Anita. While he was nobody’s pet, it was always a pleasure to feed him a few carrots.
Unfortunately he was prone to injuries and probably should have been retired some time ago. Rest in peace, dear Valenzeri.

Novellist sold to stand at Shadai in Japan
    Bloodstock World Staff RacingPost.com 17 OCT 2013
NOVELLIST, who smashed the track record by two seconds when scorching to a
five-length win in this year’s King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, has been bought to stand at Teruya Yoshida’s Shadai operation in Japan and retired from racing.
The four-year-old son of Monsun, who was withdrawn from this month’s Arc at the eleventh hour after contracting a temperature, will be sent a number of mares by his former owner-breeder Dr Christoph Berglar, who has retained breeding rights in the four-time Group 1 winner.
“Since 2011, the centre of my breeding activities has been in Kentucky, where our family is running Stonereath Stud, and we contemplated standing him ourselves in the United States,” said Berglar.

He has a beautiful back side to him. I am so happy to see he has adjusted well in Florida. It is hard to be patient waiting to see his schooling and his first works…..he is going to be loved win, loose or draw. Xoxoxo

Hello Zenyatta, Well we finally got to see your first born son COZ in training and what a great treat. COZ looks so much like you and seems to have your good natured temperament. I want to thank all the connections for sharing COZ in training with all the Zen fans and now Coz fans also. I always love to see what is happening with Zenyatta and her beautiful boys. Zenny I think of you each day that passes and still miss seeing you run like the wind and your most wonderful personality. You have made a permanent picture in my mind of yourself and I can think of you and all the great things you have done for racing and I see you very clearly. I am so happy to be able to have all these wonderful memories of you during your racing career and I always thank Ann and Jerry for all they do for you. Sending you a bunch of love and kisses and also to COZ for doing so good with his training, CONGRATULATIONS big guy.

Thank you so much to Mayberry Farm, Jerry and Ann Moss, Team Z, and Lanes End!! I truly appreciate all that everyone does to keep us informed of what is going on with Queen Z, Coz, and 13z. I love the pictures of Coz, he is growing up so fast and he looks wonderful. Be safe Sweet Cozmic One and learn all the lessons you need to be a wonderful racehorse.
