Here is one from Hew Haw, telecast on RFD TV yesterday, It was originally aired in 1976. Two hicks lounging on hay bales, man and a woman. Man to woman “How come you like to read National Geographic?” Woman to man–“Same reason you like to look at the pictures in Playboy Magazine. I like to dream about places I will never go.”

Yay! I see that our boy Coz is set to run at Belmont. I hope this means he figured out that if he’s in front he won’t have to eat dirt. Also, just because the other horses may have been slowing down, he didn’t have to. Anyway, its a learning process and I’m thinking he wouldn’t be entered if his peeps didn’t think he had a chance. Even if he didn’t , I know he will continue to learn and will get better each time he runs. I’m looking forward to seeing him. Also Hi to Ziconic. Here’s hoping that perhaps somewhere towards the end of this season he can run at least once and get his hooves wet.

    Dear Coz,
I find myself worrying about you. As I always have baby princess Z always in my prayers as I seek great comfort from that. Because in praying for her to be with Christ as my eyes are closed I always see her and know she is alright. This morning my prayers were about you too as have been many times. Our pastors sermon this morning was titled. “Don’t you care if we’re Drowning.” In Mark 4 35-40. There was a storm the wind and the waves beat against the ship. They went to where Christ was in the ship and asked him Master carest thou not that we perish. And he arose and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, Be still. And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are you so fearful. How is it that thou have no faith. And they feared exceedingly and said to one another. What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him.
Coz, God is giving me the faith to call on him first. I pray so hard that you will be fine and come out of the race safely on Wednesday. I am a work in progress, but I surely am calling on him these days to take care of you. As I know how dangerous it is when any horse or jockey steps on the race track. Coz, I am praying so hard that God will be riding with you Wednesday and always take care of you. Love, Peggy

Peggy – I too pray every single night for the blessings God has given to Zenny, Cozmic One and Ziconic thanking Him for their safety and for giving them good owners. Glad to hear that I am not the only one praying for these magnificent animals. God Bless you!

Christine I do pray so hard for them. It’s so important. So glad you do too.
I always love to see some of the jockeys looking up with I know their prayers. You can tell with some of them. Brings tears to my eyes.

Dear Shirlee, I was very proud of Texas Red yesterday. I think he might have needed the race. Next time. I was pulling for Speightster and him. Speightster was just talking to me I think. Just a huge huge fan of his family, his Papa, Mama, Gone West Danzig, Northern Dancer. Both sides. I have seen Speightstown so it was sort of sentimental for me.

Dear Max.As country folk my mother and her cousin used to collect the “useful gifts” for the garden. My grandparents were wonderful gardeners.I haven’t looked at the racing results yet.I left you a message on previous blog about Clive returning to Scotland on the Friday after the accident and not coming back until the Monday.I always thought one of the main purposes of Kauto moving was to be nearer to Clive’s home. When he needed him most he wasn’t even there.
I’d love to have seen your horse guest tucking in.You have peeps and a gardener Wow!!!Hugs Sheena.

I would have liked to see the pies disappear too. Our backs were turned when it happened. I was told later by his owner that the horse especially likes strawberries, chilled big strawberries as treats. I guess that when he saw his chance, he took it and looked all innocent after the deed was done. When asked if he ate those pies, the horse nodded his head and replied – neigh! We all laughed.
From what I’ve read, Smith came to see Kauto when he heard about the accident and only left when they appeared to have things under control. When Kauto went to the hospital, Smith returned and was with him at the end. The whole thing is heartbreaking. Kauto deserved a lot more time in retirement.

smile joke Terry, i think Coz is quick 1 1/16 mile horse, heavy in control and he choose pilots and grooms, Coz, as always, im lil afraid of, when you are going in real race, first think is, in days before race breeze lightly not long time on soft course, rest energy to race, i will see weather on belmont race course on july 8, and what horses will breeze with you, Coz dont say to Zi to be quick with racing, i think Zi like you liked Mayberry race course because it was clean from stones and branches of trees, soft and short, beautyfull Zenny Zi Coz and mates stay safe, kiss your soft noses

    July 6 Cherokee Devotional

He was the storyteller relating tribal feats and conflicts with brave men and women overcoming every foe, climbing the highest mountains and swimming the swiftest streams. Some of the listeners were very young and aware of technological advances they were being taught in school. One asked respectfully but knowingly, “Grandfather, tell us about computers.”
“I am a computer,” the old man answered. “My body is a place of business where the work of circulation goes on all the time. The brain is in charge of all workings with more storage than a block-size building. It directs the entire business-but it is nothing if it is not connected to the Mainframe. If it has nothing but the worldly knowledge, it is no better than a mere human being. Connected to the Mainframe, it is unlimited.”

I am but one man. I am the voice of my people. Whatever their hearts are, that I talk.

Tomorrow is my birthday. 63!!! Still can’t figure out how I got to be that age! All I want for my birthday is my darling boy to come home safe and sound on Wednesday. Love for Zenny, Coz, Zic and my forever Z Princess fill my heart with gladness everyday. Such great races Saturday. Lady Ely was stupendous. Many surprises though. Hope Bolo is okay. Spent Thursday getting my drivers license renewed. Couldn’t wait to get a new photo since I weighed fifty lbs. more in my old one. In my new one I look like I’ve been dead a week. The sweet young lady said maybe it would look better when it was in color. I inherited that pale complexion from my Dutch ancestors. The Lord has blessed us with rain, rain and more rain. Every afternoon we have a nice shower. Blueberries have run amok. So far I have picked 30 gallons and I have dreams about them. I hope everyone is feeling well. I sure do appreciate your kind good wishes for my health. I am feeling a lot more optimistic and know that the Lord won’t give me more than I can handle.
