A great afternoon for Gordon Elliott at Fairyhouse winning all 3 grade 1’sApple’s Jade was awesome in the Hatton’s Grace beating Nichol’s Canyon by 9 lengths.She is 100% for the mares hurdle at the festival and will rest now before her prep race.

Thanks for the link to the Cigar Mile, also. I couldn’t get the video, but got the results. The window for the replay was just a blank white square. I had the OS upgraded on my laptop so maybe something has changed with access.

Biscuits: Snore! snore! snore!
Gun: Wake up, Biscuits. Wake up. Rise and shine.
Biscuits: Yawn. Oh it’s you, Gun. Hello. I was just getting a few zzz after my race.
Gun: Congrats bro. You did well especially after those neigh sayers said that you could not make a mile.
Biscuits: Just like they said that you’d fold before getting a mile and a quarter. Yeah, right. Next time I’m going to get first. It’s the only way ahead for a chestnut.
Gun: No argument from me on that goal. What’s with those suitcases in your stall?
Biscuits: I’m heading this week to Palm Meadows for a rest. Going to stand in the sun and soak up some rays. Might grow a beard. Definitely will admire the fillies.
Gun: I’m on the work tab until the Pegasus. Hope that we can meet up at Gulfstream in the new year.
Biscuits: Me too. In the meantime, I guess that you are not giving up on the quest to meet Zenyatta?

Question for those of you who know horses more than I do – if our princess should end up in a race against one of these paddock mates – will they remember each other? I would expect so, but don’t really know.

The southern Ca. fire , called the “Creek” fire is close to us. The sky is black and grey. It’s a disaster out there and major highways closed because Sylmar and Lakeview Terrace, Pacoima are all on fire. My husband is trying to get over the top of the mountain to go to Lancaster to pick up my daughter’s friend at the train station. There is a huge Fire in Ventura county as well. This is the 2nd big one for us this season. The other that came so close was the La Tuna Canyon fire. in September. We were camping and had to rush home as our cats were in a kennel in La Tuna Cyn. Our neighbor went and got them from the evacuation site. We left camp at 4 AM and got home to the cats at 11 AM. This one is the Creek Fire. Skies are full of smoke and fire whatever direction you look. Very Scary/Dangerous!!!??????

This is a second hand report, but the Ventura fire has had an impact on our Dumpling friend, Trina. She has had to evacuate, but she and all of her animals are safe for now. I’m sure she would appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

Marsha sets a new European record as she sells for £6 million.MV Magnier signed on behalf of Coolmore and then bought Quiet Reflection for £2.1 milliongns.Sad to see the dispersal of Ballymacoll stud and Islington was worth more than the 270,000gns she sold for. The mother of 11 fillies she is in foal to Kingman.

Update. Freeways are closed and some horse owners cannot get th the stables due to blockages by fire control. I have just seen that horses on shadow hills are in danger and being evacuated. Owners cannot get in. My husband and his friend are headed there as we have our gelding and our open broodmare there. Skip will get there somehow. I can see flames from every window. OMG! Please pray for us. Melody and I are packed and ready to evacuate.

Fires still burning alll over- all escaped horses have been rescued and taken to sanctuaries. My horses are fine. Their stables not impacted. Other stables in shadow hill were impacted and those horses evacuated to HANSEN DAM equestrian center. Our cats were taken there in September when they had to be evacuated from a kennel in La Tuna Can. We were camping in wilderness. Our neighbors went and got the.. IT’s a safe place. All animals, large and small are being taken there. My husband, Skip is with our horses right now. I took a valium and am VERY calm. I never do that but all this fire and smoke- all freeways around me closed.Can’t go anywhere. Air unbreathable. all bags are packed to flee and are in car.All schools closed and on and on!! Thanks from the bottom of my heart for your prayers and pls pray for the Wildlife Way station which is in the middle of the whole thing.
