    News of three time Breeders cup winner Goldikova.She is to visit Galileo again next year.Their colt Goldikovic is set to start his stallion career in Brazil.Goldie has a yearling filly Goldika and a filly half sister to Terrakova called Alikova.Terrakova is to visit Lope de Vega and Goldie’s half sister Galikova is to visit War Front.

    Horse racing, like most sports and businesses, has issues it must deal with and work out. And we are all aware of the criticism the sport often gets, especially from uninformed entities such as PETA, who never take the time to scrape off the hardened crust they see and look beneath it to discover the soul and the love of the horse that has driven the sport for centuries and formed its core.
    People as a whole can be depended on to come through during times of crisis, but never in memory have so many horse lovers sacrificed so much and worked so diligently as did those assisting the horses at San Luis Rey Downs through their horrible and frightening ordeal. To see how social media has exploded with offers of assistance and continued prayers and updates truly warms the heart and makes you proud of the fan base that binds this sport together with its passion and caring.

    Oh wow, I really thought the first picture was a slightly slimmer, younger picture of Zenyatta. They look so much alike, you can tell by the shape of 17Z’s legs and hips :)

      That were at Santa Anita last time I went. In barn #47, John Shirreffs barn Will call bobby Troeger today. He manages all the barns at Santa Anita and is always connected to the Del MAr Person who runs Del Mar Stables.Film at 11 :).

      Well ,is that pink message still sitting above my message or can you remove it. If not for me, Zenyatta’s international bloggers would be woefully unaware of all the dangers our west coast horses are in. This is a reality not a nightmare. Worse, it is not over and these fires can squirrel around and return to previously charred areas. And still many horses are missing. They surmise that they ran off up into the hills above San Luis Rey downs. No water. Very hidden hills and canyons.Little food. These thoroughbreds have never had to forage for themselves. We must all pray.

    A superb round of jumping from little Blaklion giving Nigel TD a record 6th Becher chase.Congratulations to all connections and Sceau Royal wins the Henry VIII at sandown.He is best priced at 6-1 for the Arkle at the festival in march.Brain Power unseated David Mullins at the last.

    A 10th Tingle Creek for Paul Nicholls as the grey Politologue wins under Harry Cobden.John Hales owned One of the best around owned the famous grey One Man.Sir Valentino is still being treated by vets after a fall at the final fence.Prayers for him and Gasline Boy has won the Grand Sefton in atrocious conditions at Aintree.Happy for trainer Ian Williams as he lost London Prize a few weeks ago.

    We tend to think of jump jockeys as being tough but Adrian Heskin is still with his horse Sir Valentino after his final flight fall.There are no obvious injuries so we all hope he is just winded.Janet and Brian visited Hettie today and she is recovering well now.Much more comfortable than last week.PU Hettie

    Sadly Sir Valentino didn’t make it.Adrian gave up his last ride to stay with his horse.The vets there did everything in their power to save him.Much sympathy to Tom George Adrian and Valentino’s connections.A sad prologue to otherwise a great afternoon of jumps.RIP sweetheart.

    There are a small number of horses unaccounted for, according to the CHRB.

    First of all RIP to all the horses caught in the San Luis Rey . A very, very sad day.

    A CHRISTMAS TOAST -Here’s to all Zsters one and all and to trimming trees and decking halls. AND here’s to Zenyatta our beautiful Queen and to the sweet one she’s carrying Z18. And to Coz and Ziconic may they see their first win And to Z17 who’s schooling begins.

    UPDATE: And to all of those who have left us this year, they are not lost as we still hold them near.

    “It’s a Wonderful Life” is on USA tonight at 8 PM!!
    It is my very favorite movie of all time, and it arrives just when we need a lift in spirits. :-)

        It has been snowing off and on here since yesterday — beautiful big flakes at times. If the ground had been cold, this would have been a doozy of a “marshmallow world”! We had a little dusting here and there which really didn’t stay very long.

    What can you say about Highland Reel as one of the toughest bows out with a win in Hong Kong Vase.The globe trotting horse is now the highest earner in Europe with prize money of more than £7 million.Also a 28th group one win for Aidan who called Reel ‘irreplacable’Thank you for the memories as you embark on your new life.

    Sizing John is clear favourite to regain his Gold Cup crown as he fends off old rival Djakadam in the John Durkan.Plus Un De Sceaux is a scintillating all the way winner giving Willie his 5th consecutive Hilly Way.Un won by25 lengths.
