To be victorious we have to fall a few times. Though falling is not necessary to winning, most of us do it before we learn to avoid the things that make us fail. But when we begin to progress, even in little ways, we feel the flush of success and it urges us to make another try. As children, we fell many times before we learned to balance our legs to support us in whatever way we leaned. Nothing equals thinking big and doing big, but little victories lay the groundwork for winning to be so natural we don’t even question that we can do it. Work first for the little wins, and then move to bigger things. Just a little honest success under our belts can make such a difference.
Give unto us that wisdom, which will guide us in the path of Truth.

Happy Saturday! Busy weekend for me. I’ll be in the mountains today, resting tomorrow, and going out to the desert for lunch on Monday. The ratties are all ready for their BBQ. Zoe has a new stuffed toy. I recommended they name her Cowabunga. We’ll see…Have a great Saturday. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO
Dear Kathy.Hope you are having a great Independence weekend. We are still on a high over here after the fantastic match last night who knows we may go all the way!Wales is,of course, more well known for rugby. It’s another cool day here I remember this time last year we had pretty hot weather.Djokovic is fighting back but the rain has arrived again passing showers.Very disrupting for the players but this is the UK and it’s summer! The chicks are doing well I love the Posh Pete video on how to pronounce the Welsh names. We have had some peace from politics the last couple of days but there is talk the EU may break up eventually. Her Majesty has been opening the Scottish parliament she always spends the first week in July at Holyrood.Mr Fibbs is getting prepared for the 4th and his BBQ I told him not to forget his doughnuts.Judy and family visited the Grand Canyon.I remember we had a neighbour back in the 60’s who always went abroad on his holidays(they weren’t so popular over here at that time)and he always wanted to see the Grand Canyon. He retired and moved then so we never knew whether he got his wish. It’s not a place I would visit(terrified of heights)Mattie and Cody have been very naughty.Fantastic news about Coneygree hopefully back late October. Hope you have a great weekend.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO
Happy Fourth of July weekend to all Zsters!
Haven’t posted for a long time but I do check in periodically. Feels good to be back and see our lovely Queen getting a pedicure and new shoes. I haven’t seen anything saying she’s expecting although I could have missed it. Maybe the fact that they are putting shoes on gives us a clue…..I remember them saying they shoe some mares because of the added weight they will gain during pregnancy……I hope so.
Has anyone heard any news of a race for CoZ coming up, he seems to have fallen off the radar.
Sending love and kisses to Zenny and the boys, angels Princess and Prince 3, and of course my beloved Indy. hugs to all
Congratulations to Hawkbill and William Buick for winning the Eclipse in courageous style.By Kitten’s Joy out of a Giant’s Causeway mare Trensa he is owned by Godolphin. Now William begins his “enforced holiday”Sheena
Max,
That big white blaze seems to show up on so many Kitten’s Joys. Always fun to go on the Ramsey Farm FB during foaling season and see all those foals with that telltale white blaze.
Max
If the Kitten and Hawkbill were standing side by side, you’d think that they were twins. They’ve both got the big blaze, the cashmere coat and the knee socks. Hawk’s momma comes from the impressive US family of the sire Cozzene.
According to Bloodhorse, this is the Kitten’s first grade 1 win by an offspring in the UK. It won’t be the last.
New shoes are always exciting for a girl, especially if they’re more comfortable! Love being included in seeing your new hoof-wear, Zenny! Hope you are having a wonderful day. with love, Elizabeth
Wow a shock defeat for Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon.Beaten in 4 sets 7-6 6-1 3-6 7-6 by Sam Querrey.Djokovic just didn’t bring his ‘A’ game to the match but refused to make excuses.Maybe a mental rather than physical problem.Take nothing away from Sam who played a superb game of tennis.Andy Murray is now favourite to win I just he while he is still a UK citizen! But as we saw today anything can happen.Sheena
3 American students and 17 others have been slaughtered by ISIS terrorists during a siege at a café in Dhaka,Bangladesh. They failed to recite the Koran so they had to die?? What are these”people”.Totally, utterly inhumane.RIP the innocents Sheena
I’m chiming in a bit late on the shoe issue, but Thoroughbreds have notoriously thin hoof walls and she is probably no exception. So if you leave shoes off for a period of time, the pressure of their weight on the hood could cause damage to the hood wall. As a kid, we had horses that we didn’t show, but they were other breeds that had thicker hoof walls, like quarter horses, Welsh ponies, etc. I have never seen shoes that color before. I’d like to know what they are made of.
On this day last year, after 40 hours of suffering, Cecil the lion left this world and Walter J Palmer became infamous.Cecil’s cubs live on and so does his brother Jericho.May his death not be in vain.Rest in peace Cecil.Your legacy is secure.Sheena
Thank you for these beautiful photos of Z and her new shoes. All the photos of her are beautiful, but I just love the head shot and her glorious, kind eye. Love and Hugs, JB
Just watched the video of Ceri and Tegid that you posted. They’re just beautiful. Wishing them all the best. Goodnight. Love and Hugs, JB, LM, PC, HT, Cap, Herc, Frank, Bentley and all the Sweeties
Thanks for the wonderful pictures that allow us to share another facet of our Zenny’s life. Thanks also to those who offered explanations that we “non-horse people” could understand. Belated good wishes to our Canadian friends ?? and Hapy Independence Day to all our American friends ????

Dear Kathy.Hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend. We have tennis today and the weather is good. It’s also quite nice in Wales.Serena had an easy win today.Zoe has named her new toy I can’t remember the whole name but Petunia is one of them and that was a nick name I used for Katie why I will never know!!The ratties posted the pic when the aliens bisited and they were all asleep.I hope they eat lots of doughnuts tomorrow.Theresa May has said if she becomes leader we will not get an immediate election thank God!But she is not hugely popular with the Brexiteers. It’s going to be a long summer.Do you remember that US army general that befriended on FB.Well,he unliked me and I find he is posting now under a completely different name! His old name is still being used by another guy.Such is the world of FB.I hope you have a lovely weekend. It was certainly a shock to lose Djokovic yesterday but he looks extremely tired.Have a blessed Sabbath.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXOCeri and Tegid are practicing their flying skills!
Happy Sunday! We are enjoying ourselves, and we get tomorrow off, too! Enjoy the tennis! Serena is a machine! I’m glad Zoe settled on a name. I’ll bet she was sorry she asked for our help! I wonder why the ratties posted about the aliens. Did they visit again??? Doughnuts will make everything better. Yes, it will be a long summer both sides of the pond! I remember you mentioning the general. What a bummer when we’re unliked on FB! The world of FB is very strange! It was very shocking to lose Djokovic. Poor guy. Blessed Sabbath to you as well. What fun to watch Ceri and Tegid! Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO
It often happens that our respect for an illness is more potent than respect for our own healing powers. We don’t believe we can easily give up what brings us attention, even if that has placed us in difficulty. We certainly don’t want something to be wrong, but the power of too much negative attention is subtle, mean, and seductive. Learn to fight fear and negativity. Nip the talk, the fear, the negativity in the bud right at the beginning before it has time to rule your life. Nobody wants trouble, no one willingly puts a hand to it, but it is easy to be fooled by the fearsome idea that nothing can be done. It can-but not by an outside force.

I was wondering if maybe, since our girl is a little bigger and heavier for a thoroughbred, this type of shoe would help to keep away the dreaded hoof diseases that plague so many? Does anyone have knowledge about this possibility?
Wish they would do a feature/video with the farrier about shoeing.
Wonderful. Thank you for posting about DD and congrats to all. Big D is celebrating.
Yes, crabby got the job done. Love Lexie’s determination today. Stay crabby beautiful girl.
Saratoga will be full of exciting races. Go Tepin.
Casse was at Woodbine with her. Said she was “crabby” today. Crabby wins.
Other news is that Tepin is back in the US and going to Saratoga to train for the Ricoh Woodbine Mile in September. Dan owned this race, but since he retired Euro horses have been winning. Time for Tepin to take back that race.
