August 19 Cherokee Devotional
When a person has lived a long time with trouble, it is not hard to recognize it from a great distance. Sometimes it is hidden behind a look of serenity, sometimes behind laughter-but frequently it is hidden behind jokes. When we really understand another person and know why he behaves a certain way, we also frequently sense that person’s pain, even when he tries to cover it up. We desperately need each other to share our heavy loads and to know that, as different as we are, we are uniquely alike. It’s important to remember that living is a two-way street: One day we lean on others when we need help, and the next day we give support to those who need us. We need each other.
He cures the sick by the laying on of hands.

Dear Sheena,
A busy day ahead for me. I have Pilates, have to take Sugar to the groomer, our friend Ray is in the hospital, will visit him, pick up supplies at Petco, plus I have a retirement dinner to attend tonight. Not sure when I can visit everyone. Might have to wait ’til tomorrow! Have a great day. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

I saw it. It was magnificent. That little mare is a wonder. She also has the biggest ears ever.

Sheena,
I saw that ride, too. It was great, and yes, Max, that little mare is mighty fine!
They got the Bronze Medal, too!
Hugs and Love

That little mare is just great. Her one fault for the entire summer season was a from a minor rider mistake on the angle approach. However, she still was magnificent. She has the courage of Hickstead and the same determination. Next time. Great riding by everyone in the competition.

Belatedly, my best to Za Approval on his retirement. He was my first love, and I was so hoping that he would go out on top. Glad that he’s healthy though and can enjoy life just being a horse. My sister lives not far from Ocala – wonder if he will be receiving visitors? Thanks for the memories, beautiful boy ❤️❤️❤️
Max
Sandy. He went into retirement as a millionaire. That’s on top in my view. He’s a truly great horse. I think that he’s got 3 brothers. Two are gray like him. The one who is still racing is a bay. Hope that you can visit him.

What a fabulous jump off! Congrats to Skelton and Big Star.

Big Congratulations to Nick Skelton and Big Star on taking the Gold Medal in individual jumping! Well done, let’s hear it for the “older kid”! Great that both Nick and Big Star made such a wonderful comeback after some health issues, too.
It certainly was an exciting jump-off! I’m proud of Kent/Voyeur and McLain/Azur — they did well. Felt bad for Lucy and Barron, but it was their first Olympics so all is good.
Congrats to the Swedish pair and to Eric Lamaze/Fair Lady 5 for winning the Silver and Bronze, respectively!
Cheers and Hugs
