Thanks to JAG for the update on the arrangements for our Karen. Santa Anita certainly is THE perfect place for her friends and family to gather. It is sad that so many of us will not be able to attend in person, but we will certainly be there in spirit. Our Sue R (Florida) has also arranged for flowers to be delivered from Zenny’s Dumplings Family. Mega thanks to her for including us all in this special way. ????❤️
Thank you for letting us know about our Sue R’s lovely floral tribute to Karen from Zenny’s Dumplings. I join you in thanking Sue for including us. If there is any fund for contributions, please let me know.
Update on the Player. He has some rough days due an infection and swelling in the tendo but he is holding his own and on antibiotics. He does need our love and prayers.
Ebby is on foal watch due april 30th.She was covered by Dubawi.
BGG,
Thanks for the post. Glad to see he does not have my fav GM at number one. Want to make some money on him Derby day. Do you think either Magnum Moon or Justify will be the favorite on Derby day?
Shirlee, here’s a sample of six handicappers opinions on the Derby. One of them has your GM on top. The majority chose Mendelssohn. I believe with twenty going and depending on PPs and track conditions, it’s anybody’s guess. As usual, I’m looking for the right long shot.
Judy,
I agree that it is anyone’s race depending on how the race develops. Just some horse with good racing luck will win. Still feel that 20 is too big a field.
As you know, my heart rules my head when it comes to picking horses. Love Curlin, Stonestreet, Barbara and the chestnuts.
Judy Berube
Dear Shirlee:
Me too. Will always love them for doing the right thing for RA. Others may have risked her welfare.
I think there are at least two Curlin’s in the lineup. Scat Daddy has a good chance with at least three sons going. Love and Hugs, JB
A race that will go down in history as one of the strangest we have seen in NH took place at Punchestown today.Paul Townend has been given a 21 day ban for dangerous riding and everyone is staying silent. He was riding Al Boum Photo and looked to be winning a horse fell at the last fence and then Paul suddenly looked back and veered to the right taking out poor Finian’s Oscar with him and crashing into the rail TheStoryteller with Davy Russell won for Gordon Elliot.I am sure you can imagine the comments on social media thousands of them.An incident like this does not portray our sport in a good manner. This is a professional jockey who should’nt really make such a stupid error he could easily have killed the horse or himself. This is the horse who broke the short guy’s leg.He is getting famous for all the wrong reasons.
Dear Judy.Strange goings on at Punchestown today.LS is down I cannot see if 3J is on the nest tonight.A young Rutland born Male 6K has made his home on3J’s old nest on the lagoon at Rutland a 2nd egg is due with 3J today.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX

Leslie’s Lady, already a star broodmare, seeks her first Derby winner
By Nicole Russo DRF 04/26/2018
The Kentucky Derby is not only a test of speed and stamina – it is a test of mental fortitude for a young horse, with the pressure cooker culminating in the “wall of sound” as the field turns for home in front of more than 160,000 at Churchill Downs. Mendelssohn has shown the speed and stamina, and his breeders think he has the mental fortitude to handle the stress of the May 5 Derby.
Mendelssohn and his half-sister Beholder, a four-time Eclipse Award winner, were bred by the Clarkland Farm owned by Fred Mitchell and his mother, Nancy Mitchell. http://www.drf.com/news/leslies-lady-already-star-broodmare-seeks-her-first-derby-winner
Thanks for this interesting article on Mendelssohn’s and Beholder’s Mama. What a beauty she is. I was delighted to read that her first filly’s name is Judy B. Love and Hugs, JB
Thanks from me, too! Leslie’s Lady is lovely and has a sweet face. She definitely has impressive offspring! LL and AP sound like a wonderful combination — all the best to that little American Pharoah filly.
Good luck and good health to her and to her outstanding family.
@Judy B.,
I picked up on that filly’s name, too! Yay, Judy B.!!
I have loved Zenyatta the whole time and try to keep tabs on her. Some how I missed it – is she carrying a foal this year? Who is the sire? There are some commenters mentioning she is due in May? That’s great!!
Please fill me in on the details! I am so delighted that Coz is being trained for his post-track career. I bet he will be an excellent hunter/jumper!
What is happening with Ziconic? There are no recent workouts posted on the Equibase site. And the filly born last year – please give updates – I would SO appreciate it!
I love them all so much (and all the good people in Zenyatta’s life)
Lovely pic of none other than Snoopy Loopy on FB tonight celebrating his 20th birthday.Snoopy won the betfair in 2008 the year Kauto fell at the final fence.Still enjoying life.

Footpad is an exceptional horse. I have been closely following his races. He’s brilliant. Glad to see the Hill brothers in the money after Faugheen. Apparently Faugheen’s last workout for Mullins was very lacklustre. Mullins decided to enter him in the race anyway. 13 length win. Bravo. Mullins is on a roll.
RIP Cantlow a JP McManus owned horse who collapsed and died after the XC at Punchestown. Many ask if this 4 mile race was too much for him. There is no answer really a 13yr old came 3rd in the GN this year. But I am not the sort of person who says they died doing something they love.It was obviously too much for him today.Nos Dda cariad bach
