Love waking up to this video this morning. Thank you so much Ann Maree for posting this. Will watch again and again. Many of God’s blessings to you. with love, Elizabeth
Hi Ann Maree:
I am so happy you posted this beautiful tribute to Zenyatta once again. I missed it the first time around. I really enjoyed watching all her races. The video of her was just beautiful.
My Dear Dear Whiraway, Please forgive me I missed your birthday yesterday.
You were born April 2, l938 I believe.
You know I love you always and forever.
Remembering You
Happy Birthday to my dear Pride, my beautiful sorrel Quarter Horse. I had her for 19 great years; she has been in heaven for almost 11 now. Ziconic’s color is very close to hers. Watch over Z Princess for us, Pride!
Dr. Mike, Amy’s surgeon was very happy with her progress when he removed her stitches on Wednesday. She is bearing weight on her left hind leg more time than not now. Dr. Mike also said that she has good range of motion when he manually moved her leg in different directions.
Thank you to everyone who has been keeping Amy in their prayers!
Donna, Will keep you and your Amy in my prayers. So glad you have such fond memories of Pride. Wish we had our animal family back too, but I’m glad we have the memories. I’m looking forward to seeing them all again in heaven. God many blessings to you, Donna with love, Elizabeth
Judy, Praying the same – safe and healthy horses today especially. Love seeing them all, and relieved (as I know we all are) when they and the jockeys all come out safe and sound. We’re watching the moon eclipse this morning (in and out of the house – a bit chilly, but amazing). Right now it’s almost half-covered. I think this is the last blood moon until September. God to run out and peek again. Hope you have a blessed Sunday.
with love, Elizabeth
Zenny, Hope you and your colts have a wonderful day today. Loved watching the replays of your races yesterday. Such a wonder girl you are! Thank you Team Z and Mayberry for taking such good care of Zenyatta. with love, Elizabeth
Melancholy is a stray cat you once let in-now you have to fight to get it out. It is not impossible but very unpleasant.
Never look at that dark grieving attitude as a permanent fixture. See it as an outside force trying to control you. You would never let the cat take over your home-so don’t let sadness monopolize your mind and spirit. Keep telling it to be gone. Say it again and again. Speaking the word is a powerful ally-and you’ve been doing it with dark words.

Dear Kathy. It’s a lovely day here but no signs of any ospreys yet. They are getting concerned about Maya almost 3 weeks late now.One of the Glaslyn males is back in Scotland for his 7th breeding season.I heard on Sky news last night about your dreadful drought!Seems a lack of snow on the Sierra Nevada won’t help either. That’s why I love our climate such variety!Zoe looked gorgeous in her dress and is going to be busy today! It’s also World Rat day good to see Marty back with his cake he is getting near to 20,000 “likes” now.I went on my pom pals Dexter is getting huge!Wookie is very cute.Freyja has still got an upset tummy and won’t take her meds! It’s grey and cold there so they are going to spend the day in the closet.Off to visit the rest now.Oh,Nay and Judy have been busy cleaning the pool it’s 85F there now Mango is supervising.Grand National a week today Yay!Have a great Saturday.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.
Hope Maya makes it back. 3 weeks late is a long time. Yes, our drought is very serious. The governor announced a mandatory water usage cutback of 25%. You are lucky to get so much rain. I can’t get enough of Zoe in her Easter dress. She is such a beautiful and personable little dog. World Rat Day…Marty’s mom is a very talented woman to make rats seem so appealing! Dexter is going to be so big. According to the AKC standard French Mastiffs will weigh about 150 pounds!!! Such a contrast to the Poms. Hope Dexter never gets mad at any of his Pom siblings! Fingers crossed Freyja improves. Sounds like Mango will be catching rays poolside very soon. Hope we get lots of pics! Have a wonderful Saturday. Get geared up for Grand National! Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy.
Dear Anne Maree
What a beautiful tribute to Zenyatta, lovely way to start my day and brought tears to my eyes. She brings so much joy to the world.Thank-you so much.
Dear Donna
Happy Birthday Pride! She sounds so beautiful and I can feel the deep love you shared.
Glad Amy is making good progress and wish her a perfect recovery.
Good luck and safe trips to all the beauties running today, the derby picture will start to become a little clearer.
Zenny I took the beautiful twitter picture titled “the birthday girl” and put it on my desktop and OMG it is so beautiful, every time I turn on the computer there is your gorgeous face staring back at me…..what a treat.
Just have to add a “GOOD LUCK” to my “BADGERS” who are playing the Wildcats tonight, it should be a good game.
Thanks Marshall,
Yes I especially love it when all the sports “authorities” picked against them…..good thing we play the games and run the races isn’t it. Hope they beat Duke now, all good teams or they wouldn’t be there. hugs

Dubai Sky, winner of the Spiral Stakes and a late nominee to the Triple Crown, suffered a fractured hind leg galloping this morning at Churchill Downs and is off the Triple Crown trail, trainer Bill Mott confirmed just now. http://live.drf.com/nuggets/12563
Sorry to hear this. Sounds serious but may not be a career ender. Have to see how he recovers. Mott seems optimistic.
Frosted took the Wood today. Nice horse.
More bad news. Beastie got boxed in and came in 4th in the Carter. I blame it all on cruel fate and Javier because the Beast himself can do no wrong. $20K prize money will keep him in oats and some new shoes. Beastie might also want to think about for going longer races. He’s got the power and stamina for it. Roll on, Beastie to the next one.
Max,
I agree that Beastie looks as if he could go further. He really was boxed in with no where to go until the very end. In spite of that he finished well.
Carol, Rivers will do better next time.
Saw Dortmond for the first time on TV and was blown away by what a handsome animal he is. Sure is a big guy but very well behaved.
Thanks goodness they all seemed to come home safely today.
Max
The Beast is better on the rail or with a clear path from the front. Had some bad luck today. Dads is a speed horse. He’s got Forrestry on the sire line. Kind of like Dads. He’s a trooper. Beastie will regroup for next time.
Rivers will bounce back with a win and our Beastie had a rough trip today. Maybe they will try longer distance for him. As you said Max, both of them got a share of the purse. That’s good. Love and Hugs, JB

Have you tried the bread pudding at Keeneland. In Southern Living Magazine back a few years it had in there the l0 best things people should see when coming to the South. My Branch Manager showed it to me. Keeneland was in the l0. And it told you to be sure to try the Bread Pudding when visiting. I did and I loved it. You all were talking about the spring meet weather. I haven’t been to the spring meet. But every single time I went in the fall, it was really cool. One time they had a record cold for fall. Just my luck….It was cold, but I loved every minute of my visit. Everyone should go to Keeneland. It’s wonderful
Peggy,
Thanks for the tip on the Bread Pudding. I didn’t even know they has such a thing. My experiences with the weather in the fall have been pretty good. Mostly nice days. Can’t really pick a favorite between Churchill and Keeneland. Just depends on the mood. Love both of them. Nothing like sitting on the finish line at Churchill and to feel and hear the thunder with a big field as they come down that stretch!
Congrats to Carpe Diem and Johnny V in the Bluegrass, to Frosted and Joel Rosario in the Wood Memorial and to Dortmund and Martin Garcia in the SA Derby. Mike and Bolo finished a close 3rd. Mr. Commons was scratched out of the 11th Race at SA today. Hope he is OK.

Regarding Dortmund, 3 horses — Big Brown (3-0), Barbaro (5-0) & Smarty Jones (6-0) —
have brought unbeaten records into #Derby since 2004.
Congratulations to all winners today. And, such heartfelt congrats to Fortune Pearl, Graham Motions Filly running in the 1st race at Keeneland today. After, the unkind comments by one of the commentators about this Filly before the race. I know its just their comments. I guess I just never like any unkind remarks about the horses. Thanks Simon Bray for saying on TV, its not a Beauty Contest. She can run.
She won. Congrats Pretty Girl.
Dear Judy, Thank You so much for the race replays and the picture of Fortune Pearl. She’s a pretty girl.
Ann NC
Congrats to F Pearl! Love her!
Many great fillies showing their strut yesterday. Princess Violet, Stellar Wind, wow! Way to go girls. The KY Oaks will be thrilling, too.
Some say that Hastings was not the most beautiful horse in the world, but that did not stop him from winning the Belmont or siring great horses. His grandson Man o’ War did him proud. Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder. Pearl looks pretty nice to me, especially winning.
Riva Ridge wasn’t particularly good looking, either, especially compared to his stablemate Secretariat. Penny Chenery was very fond of him, though. IIRC, she felt a little badly for him.

Dear Linda:
When Karen posted the recent confirmation photo of CC above and noted that he looks good, but thin, I looked for a photo of him from 2014 to compare his weight.
I inadvertently posted a confirmation photo of his daddy, Lucky Pulpit, and identified it as CC. When I realized my mistake, I posted a photo of CC taken as he arrived in Baltimore for the 2014 Preakness. Sorry for the confusion.
He does look thinner in the more recent photo Karen posted. The trip to Dubai, the DWC race; then the trip to the UK and getting acclimated to his new surroundings no doubt could play a big part in this. Hoping he will gain the weight back soon. Love and Hugs, JB

He does look thinner in the more recent photo Karen posted. The trip to Dubai, the DWC race; then the trip to the UK and getting acclimated to his new surroundings no doubt could play a big part in this. Hoping he will gain the weight back soon. Love and Hugs, JB

OOPS: Linda and Z Fans, that should be “CONFORMATION” photo. Wow, I used the wrong spelling three times. I think I’m losing it. Love and Hugs, JB

Judy:
The pic I posted of Chrome shows it was posted to twitter two days ago. While he looks gorgeous I hope he puts on some weight. You’re right, the pic you first posted was of daddy, Lucky Pulpit. Handsome guy too.

Dear Karen:
Yes, he definitely has lost weight. Hope he gains it back.
I don’t know how I mixed the photos up; sorry about that. LP is a very handsome boy too.
