Hello dear Zenyatta. I went to early morning workouts today and got an wonderful opportunity to visit one of my favorite mares, Queen Be To You. She is a very tall girl too with such a kind eye. Her trainer Andrew Lerner and groom Juan were so nice to let us visit her. I saw your John as well working hard.
It was overcast and a bit chilly in the a.m.
a nice morning for me to see all the pretty horses.
I hope you have a great week.

Marshall, congratulations on your new fur baby, Fenn. I’m happy for you & Bailey. Fenn sounds like a little cutie. I’m sure that Sheena is smiling down on you for choosing Fenn as the new dog’s name. I’m so glad that you chose another rescue dog. There are so many of them that deserve a good home like yours.
Dear Zenyatta, I hope that the weather hasn’t been too bad there with all the storms our country has been having. I am looking forward to seeing photos of you and your new filly when she comes. I am also looking forward to seeing Zellda race when John says that she is ready. I have already let your Mike know that I hope he will be her jockey.
Take care, everyone and good blessings to all of you.

Marshall, he is one gorgeous boy. You know his Daddy’s nick name around the barn is Brad Pitt. Our Sheena told me that. He’s got the best features of both his parents.
Thank you for posting these two links! I forgot Sheena told us about “Brad Pitt” — OA is one handsome stallion. I agree with you that FAS got the very best features of OA and Ebby. Best of Luck to him and JS on Thursday! Safe and sound racing, too.
Thank you for remembering brave Barbaro. Hard to believe it has been 13 years. We had him for such a short time, and yet he is lovingly ensconced forever in our hearts. RIP beautiful courageous boy.

Belated congrats to Marshall and her new fur baby, Fenn! Hope things are coming along OK by now – we need an update. Several Derby prep races coming up this weekend. Sounds like the weather in south Florida could be an issue for at least of them. The weather here has been so dreary, it’s just unbelievable. Glad that we haven’t had tons of snow, but just day after day after day of wall to wall clouds. Nothing was supposed to fall from them today, and I just glanced out of the window . . . . arrrrrggh!!!!
Thanks for the congrats and thanks for posting the Hovis diary! Poor Hovis, trouble just seems to seek him out. Yes, terriers can be a challenge, but that is one of their endearing qualities, too. Smudge was a wonderful terrier mix and a huge “smile bringer”. This little guy has similar traits which I love. Whatever name you choose will be right. It’s great you will have time off to be with him for the next couple of weeks. Love and Hugs, JB
I read the race notes on FAS’s Equibase chart. Stated, “pulled and gave way”. That usually means a horse is “pulling” too much too early in the race and the jockey can’t get him/her to rate; thus causing the horse to expend all energy early. As our Ann said, this was his first race and he is green. Should improve with experience. Glad he’s OK. Love and Hugs, JB
