I have already signed the petition for Zenyatta for Horse of the Year 2010. She is the most amazing, beautiful, talented and affectionate creature I have ever had the good fortunate to see in my 70 years. She has done more for the sport of horse racing at a time when it needed it the most. She is a true gift from God and without question should be Horse of the Year.
Love her with all my heart and am so thankful that I have been alive to witness her incredible performances, her great heart and her majesty.
Kudos to John Sherriff and the Moss’s
for sharing her with us. She has blessed us all.
ZENYATTA THE QUEEN I signed the petition for you. You should be horse of a LIFETIME. You deserve this award. You are FIRST CLASS all the way! I LOVE YOU. Love Lori XOXO.
Already signed the petition on November 10th. Zenyatta is the most beautiful, courageous, talented, affectionate creature to come to the sport of horse racing this year and all the years she has thrilled us with her majesty. She is a wonderful ambassador for the sport and a true gift from God. If she is not voted Horse of the Year then the Eclipse Awards should be discontinued.
I’ve already signed and so has my sister and my son. I am alerting other fans to the petition as well. I notice that Zenyatta’s pony is being retired-I hope that doesn’t mean Zenny is too. I still am hoping for a return to the track to retire with a victory!!!!
Please do not retire yet just yet. We love her too much & it will be so sad when she ends her career so prematurely. She has so much more to give to her fans, the industry & most of all, she loves what she is doing right now. Please, please reconsider not retiring her so soon. I really enjoy the news & updates on Zenyatta. I can never get enough of her! Thank you so much for sharing her with us. We are so privileged to have her in our lifetime!!
Zenyatta is truly the greatest horse ever! She deserves HOY in every way. What she has done for the sport of horse racing is unbelievable. Lady Z has raised the bar that no other horse can step over as far as I am concerned.
Zenyatta is the best thing that has happened to horse racing since Secretariat! We love you kiddo and send you a big hug. Stay healthy and very happy. You have the greatest team to accomplish these things for you.
As said by so many others…you start and end my day…with a mixture of happiness & tears ( not sure why the latter, but you make me sooo emotional!!!). I have Never, in my 67 yrs. of life, felt so drawn to something with 4 legs; &, actually, very few 2 legged species either. Thank you.
Dear team Zanyetta…Where did i read that Zanyetta can be ‘viewed’ between 10-11am; then 3-4pm? And where, exactly, wld. that be…we’d be coming from Laguna Beach ( with my VERY spry 97 yr. old mother)? Sue
Dear Zenyatta, Thank you for your loving, beautiful presence in our lives. You deserve to win many times over. One of the entries said you’d been jogging a little. Is there a time when some of your admirers can come and watch you?
Zenyatta has woke up the world to horse racing again. People who never been to horse race grew to love her. As the song
said–Hail to the Queen of the Sport of KIngs. If she is not selected to be horse of the year-somthings are wrong.
Zenyatta is a gift, the likes of which we will never see again. She is an amazing athletic animal, she is that California “polytrack specialist” that transcended all racing and proved a true champion can run on any surface. She has the athleticism of an Afleet Alex, the awareness and physicality of Curlin, and the fighting “you’ll never get me” attitude of Ruffian, all rolled into one horse! We will never see this again in our lifetime. I have loved her and supported her for 3 yrs. Look at her running prowess in the Classic and all she had to overcome to reach the inches of Blame’s nose. She was the better runner in that race. Zenyatta deserves to be Horse Of The Decade as well. Kudos to the Mosses, John, Mike, and her caretakers who will miss her most of all, you all put “horse first” the way it should be in this industry. Ann Moss said Zenyatta is a “gift” who I quoted above, and my friend Steve Haskin agrees. New Jersey loves you Zenyatta. The website is a great idea and the Zenyatta song and video should be played on CMT, it’s great. Zenyatta belongs with the greats in the Hall of Fame, she brings tears to the eyes of strangers never mind racing die-hard fans like myself, she is truly one of God’s remarkable animals. I have signed her petition.
Just signed. It is so important to recognize Zenyatta for her talent and achievements as well as her charisma and all that she has done for us. It IS the least that all of us can do to recognize her amazing heart. We love you, Queen Z! Keep us posted with updates and pictures too!
i’ve already voted for zenyatta for horse of the year. she is soooooo deserving of this award. i also feel that she may not be ready to be put out to pasture yet. it would be cool if she could do a farewell tour, i don’t mean racing because she is sound and healthy, maybe just a stop at many tracks so the public can see her in person and she can wean off of the life she has been used to. so many fans would love the chance to meet her and have their picture taken with her. she is really going to be let down if she doesn’t have that interaction with people. i love her so much, she has made a huge impression on me and my family. zenyatta forever!!!!
I will say it again–I can’t believe we even have to have this discussion or sign a petition (whichI did). She should be unanimous choice this year, and she should have had it last year. She is one of the all-time greats!
there isn’t much to say that hasn’t been said already. Why does winning the breeders cup classic this year automatically make blame the hoy? Based on last years results that’s not necessarily true. What guidelines are there when making such a decision? Are fillies/mares not looked upon with the same athleticism as their male counterparts? Who decided males were the dominant of the two sexes? Zenyatta has proven she can run magnificently on more than one surface, has won at several race tracks, and has racked up more grade 1’s than any other horse this year. Blame has won all for the exception of one race at his home track, so technically speaking, he’s traveled just as much as Zenyatta has. Besides winning so many grade 1’s, Zenyatta has done something even more miraculous- she’s made horse racing popular again and also introduced this sport to thousands of people who never showed any interest prior. Come on people, bias aside, we all know who was the best horse that day. To come from as far back as she did, thru all that traffic and to have been beaten by a nose. Would Blame have still won if he didn’t have a good trip or was that far back? Highly unlikely. So when they go to cast their vote for hoy, and look at all the accomplishments each horse has tallied up, doesn’t Zenyatta stand out far above the rest?
I will sure miss all of this when she retires from public life! Now when I watch a race it is always underwhelming comparing everyones performance to hers! She is simply stunning!
she earned more than any award a racing industry can give her …… as the best period …… glad can retire now & have some babies – and thank god she finished
her racing career without injuries.
LOVE HER – ONLY THE BEST FOR YOU ZENYATTA !
Ms. Zenyatta, check with non racing horse fans and yes, they have signed (sent them the link). Kind of sad, my cousin has fallen madly in love you since seeing you on 60 Minutes and she actually watched the race, but then again, it is never too late to fall in love with Queen Zenyatta. Have a wonderful day, and please let us know how you are loving it. Any beer or flowers lately? Talk with you later, and tell your owners and your team THANK YOU for letting us love you. Hugs and love, Lisa g.
Quenn Zenyatta your the BEST and an inspiration to all of us. Thank you for just being you. My class and I read your log everyday. We all want you to keep writing to us so we can continue to follow you. We ALL love you. Shari
Zenny honey, you don’t have to ask me twice. I tried yesterday and couldn’t find the right place to give my opinion on the subject. You are so deserving of HORSE OF THE YEAR.
She was robbed of the award in 2009. More than deserves it for 2010. Beginning to believe the Z team is not on the inside of the politics for this honor.
Zenyatta is certinally deserving of the HOY award. She is something really fantastic and should be honored by this award. What an amazing athletic animal. Thank you for the website.
