Happy Wednesday!
Last week was a special one for the web team. We packed our cameras and muck boots and headed to Lane’s End to catch up with Zenyatta and her boys.
We roamed around the paddock with Zenny and 13Z (with pockets full of peppermints), spent a day with Coz to observe his new routine, and took a lot of photos. In the coming weeks we’ll put up photo galleries and add new prints to the Zenyatta Shop. Also in the works is a video interview with Assistant Yearling Manager Cooper Sawyer—he’ll explain how Coz is being prepped for the next stage in his career.
Since it’s that time of year where we begin to make plans for the Breeders’ Cup, we’d like to announce that there will not be an official Zenyatta Celebration at the Breeders’ Cup this year. Instead, we’ll hold a special event online that everyone can take part in, from the races or from home. Details will be announced at a later date.
Enjoy!

Amanda- thanks so much for this picture!! He is handsome, that’s for sure!! Can’t wait to hear about him… Could we see a 13Z vs. 13V match race sometime in the future?? Wouldn’t that be amazing! Here’s hoping both lads grow up healthy and happy!
Jan S. / Houston
Thanks for the pic. They are sure keeping it all in the family! They both look great.

Forgot to mention the adorable cats. They look happy and healthy, as do the other four-legged residents of Lane’s End.
Eveline / Maryland.
Mr. Scraggles looks like he belongs in the yearling barn! He’s got that “don’t mess with me” look.

So funny, Eveline. I was thinking the same thing.
Lucky kitty cats.

Zenyatta and her boys make my day! Coz is looking more like his mom and that red prince he’s just a doll!

Thank you so very much for these pictures of Zenyatta and her boys. A special day indeed as it coincides with opening day at Del Mar!!!! What a special, special treat to open up Z’s website and enjoy these photos. The boys are stunning, but of course, why not, look at their Mom and respective Dads.
As a long-time Zenyatta fan, I can’t express the joy these photos bring to my day. I will look at them often. Thank you for the kitty photos too. I look forward to hearing about Coz’s new life preparing for the future and watching Z and baby 13.
Thank you Lane’s End and all who contribute to this journal of Zenny’s life.
Ann Maree / Tennessee

Jan S. / Houston
Thanks for the lovely pictures. Coz looks marvelous. Besides his ears, he really looks like his daddy. WHOA! 13Z is really big. Looks like he’s eating his three meals a day, and then some! Mama Z looks as gorgeous as ever. She is so Zen like. Lucky Mr. Scraggles and Linda to get to hang out with Z & Coz. Sending lots of hugs and kisses to the whole family. xoxo.

Queen Z and her boys look fantastic. Thanks for sharing. Too bad you are not having the Zenyatta Celebration at the Breeders Cup. I went last year and had a great time. You all will be missed this year.
Mary Margaret in Georgia
Thank you so much for the wonderfule updates. Everyone looks fantastic.

Whenever you post photos of Z and her boys, I get a warm, satisfied feeling inside. It’s going to be grand watching them develop. Hope the racing goddess keeps them healthy and safe.

Agree completely with that comment, tbpartner43!

Zenyatta never fails to impress us. Her boys are beautiful and our queen looks, well, ‘Queenly’…she makes me smile. Love all photos and especially love the ones with Zenny with her baby at her side.
Brandi
13Z is SPECTACULAR!!! Hugs to Zeny & Coz.
suew/Va
Oh my! Zenny has some awesome boyz …I swear Coz just takes my breath away and 13Z…no way does he look like a 4 month old! Isn’t she just the most amazing mother?
I cannot wait to see how these young colts mature as they proceed with the next steps of their lives. It would be awesome to have access to Coz as he heads off for training.
To the Mosses and LE, every picture is pure delight. Thank You.
sue and tony
We LOVE the entire Z family. Beauty lives in each of these magnificient creatures and it all started with the Queen herself. These pictures are gorgeous. Can you tell we like them?
Joanna from TX
Thanks Team Z for the new pictures, equine and feline alike! Everyone looks healthy and happy.
The boys…what can one say but they are both developing SO well! Coz has taken on an elegant quality about him and lilRed is getting so big and looks to be very well balanced. Still love so much about this colt.
Zenny seems to be taking everything in stride as she always has and most likely will.
Have a great day all!
Gloria
Great pics of Big Mama Z and her babies. Thank you for keeping us in the loop!!
Hailey
Both boys are absolutely beautiful ! Hugs to Zenny, Coz, and 13Z :)
Sandy Whidden
Thank you so much for this, made my day. What beautiful colts she has !! Almost as beautiful as the Queen herself !!!!
Bobbie --- Elkhorn WI
Kyle, you are really a talented photographer! Great pictures. So much fun to see Zenny happy and healthy in her new role as MOM and watch the boys mature so beautifully. If Darley is breeding V to Tapit they must think Red is pretty special too. Look forward to more updates!
Sue Fredrick Happy as a lark
Bobbie,
I bet they do, look what they got when V was bred to Bernie……….the magnificent Ebby. hugs
carol in arkansas
Love updates…
Zenny ….you look amazing ..as always
The boys are spectacular …
Last blog…all I could see in Coz was Zenny….can not believe how much he looks like Bernie from this other angle….
Red’s socks …hmmmmm …absolutely has three…but think there could be a little white on that other front also…
thanks to all at LE and the wonderful Mosses for continuing to let us peek into S’s world
Jo Anne Yuhnke
I got chills looking at the pictures of 13Z. His hindquarters are gorgeous!
Allen
Thanks for the wonderful pictures. Coz and 13Z just look awesome and Zenny is in a league of her own, she is “The Queen”. Does anyone know what the plans are for Rachel? I know she has had a difficult time with her first two foals, didn’t know if they plan on breeding her again this year or giving her sometime off.
LauraJ (Cincinnati OH)
She is not going to be bred this year. Even if she were up to it physically, it’s too late in the year. As for next year, who knows? I expect whether she is bred in 2014 will depend on what her veterinarians think.
Mary Lou
Thank you so much for posting pics of both babies and our beautiful girl…Give them all hugs and kisses for me, they are now and will always be precious…;=)))
Ann NC
Thank you,Team Z.
Beautiful photos of Z, the boys, kitty cats and the farm.
Nice treat for us, thanks!
Terry Crow
I went to see the Lone Ranger movie last night and I have hesitated to post this as I have not read a similar review. I guess I am old school, but to me The Lone Ranger character was always heroic and steadfast. I have no argument with raising Tonto’s stature to equal partner, but the Ranger himself does not have to look like a dweeb to achieve this. It looked like the studio did not know what kind of picture it wanted to make. Either play it straight or do a complete parody, much like Batman was on TV. I think Disney will lose its shirt on this one. Just my opinion.
LauraJ (Cincinnati OH)
But the horses are purrrrty. :-)
Terry Crow
I agree about the horses. But, in this case, the equines are playing the front end of the horse while the humans are playing the back end, with apologies to Ann in NC, for whom I expressed this opinion before I saw the film. Now, I know I’m right.
Barbara Wood (Texas)
Thanks for the heads up, TC. We’ve not seen it and probably will anyway for the horses, but at least we’ll be prepared.
Ann NC
Maybe I was confused and actually enjoyed the beautiful silhoettes being cast beside me more than the actual movie? Delightful company does that sometimes. I did like the lady on the crescent moon!
Now this, Sharknado…..?????
Terry Crow
Ann-You must have missed the part where Butch Cavendish eats a heart.
Maryp NY
Terry,
Haven’t seen it but I’m sure I agree with you, just from the trailers and interviews I’ve seen.
Terry Crow
I should have waited until it came to our local $1 theater. It won’t be long before it gets there.
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear TC GP:
Thanks for your input on this. I would share your thoughts on this movie, I sure. Hugs, JB
Kathy R.
Dear Terry: Local paper here in Canberra (The Chronicle) would agree with everything you said. He was unimpressed to say the least. Cheers, KathyR.
Terry Crow
Kathy R-I used to have a theory that if the critics hated it I would like it. Not this time. But then, maybe somebody as old as I has a different slant on things. I must admit that I do not like most of the shows and the music my daughter likes.
Terry Crow
Judy-I would love to read your opinion after you see it. As I said, this is just the way I felt about it. I’m sure others do not agree.
LauraJ (Cincinnati OH)
BTW, Ebby is entered in the Shuvee Handicap July 20 at Saratoga. It’s a G3, 9f. Race is at 5:12.
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Laura J.:
Thanks for this info.
FYI, Devil Approved It, the gray gelding we were not successful in rescuing because we could not raise the necessary unreasonable asking price, raced again today. He ran 4th in a $4000 Claimer.
Hugs, JB

Is 13Z looking at the camera out of the corner of his eye in the first photo? Very sly boy!!! Two very handsome sons, Zenyatta — well done! Thank you, everyone on Team Zenyatta for allowing us this glimpse of them.
Randy
What a Wonderful Wednesday! That first picture of Coz just took my breath away… what a GORGEOUS face! And Z13 is getting so tall… I can’t believe he’s not even four months old yet. I bet he’s going to be bigger than his mom (who is also looking absolutely wonderful). Mr. Scraggles and Linda are adorable too and I’m sure they’re as well taken care of by the LE folks as all of the equines. The blue herons are lovely as well, standing on the fence posts like little sentinels!
A thousand thank you’s to Lane’s End, the Web Team, Team Z, Kyle for his beautiful photographs, and of course Mr. and Mrs. Moss for allowing us these glimpses into the lives of these gorgeous animals. Your generosity is appreciated more than words can ever express.
