News of Pink Lloyd and his trainer. Lloyd is turned out for the winter. If he’s in Toronto or anywhere in Ontario, he had better bundle up. Hope that he’s in Palm Meadow. I wouldn’t mind being there myself.

RIP Lessons in Milan who died after a horrible fall at Haydock this afternoon.Trained by Nicky Henderson and owned by Trevor Hemmings he last won in in 2015.Also much sympathy to AP McCoy his mum died surrounded by her family on boxing day.
Ziconic is due to run on Monday at Santa Anita race 2.
No news of Faugheen but he has been introduced back into the betting for the Champion Hurdle so we live in hope.

Just getting over the most lovely service for my brother-in-law Ron. My heart just breaks for my sis. But with Ron serving 21 yrs. in the Air Force, the ceremony at the grave site was just awesome. Such a tribute!!

Killultagh Vic puts a smile back on Mullins face as he wins after an absence of 714 days through injury.His hurdling was a bit rusty but who cares?Congratulations to Vic and all his connections.
Also congratulations to Daddy’s Lil Darling and Mike for winning the American Oaks yesterday.I remember how frightened she got at Epsom when Enable won the Oaks in a thunderstorm.

Mullins says that Vic is unlikely to improve his hurdling style. Hurdling is just not his thing. They are thinking of moving him on to fences. Agree with you however that the win was important in itself regardless of technique for the Mullins team.

Biscuits: So are you. Chestnuts must dress for the occasion. I wanted a red tie but it clashes with the old cashmere. Are you doing anything special to celebrate?
Gun: I’m staying put. In training. But I did order in loads of carrots, oats and peppermints if other horses drop by, especially charming fillies.
Biscuits: Speaking of fillies. I see that you still have that big print of Zenyatta on your stall wall. It’s looking a little worn. Have you been kissing her photo again, Gun?
Gun: Mind Your Biscuits! That’s personal. What are you doing for New Years Eve?
Biscuits: Going to visit a faraway friend. He needs the excitement which is Biscuits.

The 2 chestnuts together what a rockin New Years Eve! Best of luck to dear Gunny in his next race. If he is feeling romantic, we might have a problem since a beautiful chestnut named Stellar Wind is rumored to be in the race.
Just saw that The Red Prince had pp 7 in his race tomorrow in a field of 7. Hollywood Strike is in the field and Mike is riding the #1. Praying for Ziconic’s safety and a good trip.

Happy Birthday to John Denver! Born in Roswell, NM in 1943, the same city that
Zenny’s Mike Smith was. You left us way too soon; it’s been over 20 years now.
As we make the transition into 2018, I am hoping and praying for more good and less bad in the year to come and beyond. May we make progress toward a better world with less destruction and more happiness like the love and happiness that this blog spreads.
May we make progress toward preventing injuries in race horses and better treatments toward the injuries that do happen. I would also like to see better laws and stiffer penalties for those who do not have the best interest of their animals at heart.
May God bless each and person and all animals, especially Zenyatta and Ann and their team as well as everyone who contributes to this blog. May Ziconic win his first race, may Z17 blossom in her upcoming training and may you, dear Zenyatta have another healthy foal for all to admire and love.
