Thanks so much for the link to the video of Zi’s race. It never is completely satisfactory just to know the result. I want so much to see how he ran the race. Still think he needs Gary Stevens but who am I to say anything?
You’re so welcome. I think there is merit in our Max’s suggestion that a change in venue and class may do the trick. An MSW at Golden Gate may bring our Red Prince his first win.
God Bless him and his brother and little sis. Love and Hugs, JB
Ann Moss I hope you see this message. I sent a message a month or so ago. One day I happen to see how curlin and zenyattas markings we so much alike only difference was zenyattas goes to the left and curlins goes to the right. I did more study on it and and another astrology search and horoscopes (I know u must think I am a nut) But ann after much much digging.. the markings on them put together is a perfect Secretariat marking and their maps I have done predict only great things that would come from them being bred even a possible foal that would be as great as secretariat.. please ann check it out. I don’t know any other way to try and get this to you. and if anyone else knows how o get this to ann please pass it along.
Hovis is a bit late today.Poor mother has had a difficult week with backache,a hospital visit and nerve block. The wuss!!!Hovis’s words not mine.Safe trips to all horses and jockeys this weekend.Another Royal baby on the way Her Majesty’s granddaughter Zaea Tindall is pregnant. http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/blog/hovis-friday-diary-mother-hard-brie-641349
I am in stitches with laughter! Honestly, the comedy team of Hovis & Karen is superb!
Love all those hilarious images created by colorful narratives. :-)
Thanks for posting our Hovis’ adventures of the week!
Just checked out what you think are Arctic conditions in Wales. Man, if it was 34 F in my coordinates, it would be balmy. Stay outside in the NE for longer than 10 minutes and you are a goner. I hope that Biscuits is in Florida, but it’s even cold there.
Oh, poor mother. Just when she could relax with Hovis’ recovery, a health issue of her own. Wishing her well soon. Congrats to Zara Tindall and family. Love and Hugs, JB
Do you think that Zenyatta looks heavy? I thought that she looked fairly slim in the above photos. I might be missing something because you are usually right.
Z13Rulz
Looking at her picture from the December 1 blog, yes I do think she is carrying extra weight.
Keep in mind in that December 1st picture she’s not due for 6 months, which means the foal is just a little larger than a cat. From 6 months to birth is when the foal will develop to the approximately 130+lbs ( average ) and it’s full foal size.
So go back and look at her in December 1 and realize that none of her barrel size is foal, since the foal is just the size of a cat. She looks like a mare on track to foal in late February or early March, from size, but she’s going to go till mid May!
Max
Thanks. I understand what you are saying. Seems correct.
Z13Rulz
You’re welcome.
Also that fits with how they went with her the first time.
2012 foal
2013 foal
2014 foal
2015 deliberately left open to reset schedule and reduce weight.
2016 foal
2017 foal
2018 foal
2019 suspect she’ll be left open to reset schedule and reduce weight.
So a cycle of 3 years in foal/foal at heel and then 1 year off, which is kind of like 2 years because once Z18 is weaned, she won’t have a foal at heel until 2020.

Dear Z13Rulz and Max:

Mystery still surrounds the poor performances from Sizing John and Faugheen over the festive period. All tests have returned negative and both horses are fine.CCTV has been studied thoroughly and no unauthorised personnel were seen at the stables.Faugheen has been out cantering.
Dear Sweet Zenyatta; I am sure hoping that you have not gotten bigger than you should be in your term according to what I have read here as you are my forever love and I want the best for you and your baby to be. You will shine my Love.

Marshall. Horses are God’s own creatures. I used to follow Simonsig when he was racing, but I had no idea about this tender back story. There may be many such stories from which we could learn to appreciate horses even more. Glad that you enjoyed it
I remember Nicky in tears when Simonsig died that day saying ‘How are we going to tell Triolo’He fractured his pelvis in a race later on but recovered well and I think is with Tracy Vigors along with Bob’s Worth.
Our beloved horses do indeed form strong bonds with each other. These two were a unique example of how strong the bond can be. Thank you so much for sharing.
The paragraph in the article about mares being given time to be with their foals who did not survive, made me think of little Baby Z16 and Mama Z. Bonds not easily broken. Love and Hugs, JB

I also scrolled down to stories about “Grandpa Waffles” (~30yr old Belgian Draft horse) and a super-sweet Lexy (11 yr old pitbull). I am smiling with both my face and heart! So much love to share.

We’re having a heat wave here, too; 24 degrees this afternoon after a low of 9 below 0 on Sunday morning! We may even reach 50 on Thurs. before going back to highs in the 20s by next weekend.
Does anyone know how cold it got in KY? I know that the far below normal temps reached all the way from the North Pole to the US Gulf Coast.
We got to -4 degrees overnight last week. Yup, supposed to be in the 50s here too later this week.
I checked the forecast for Kentucky and although it’s in the 40s and 50s during the day, it goes down to the 20s and even the teens overnight there. Z and BBG and all the horses stay comfy, cozy and warm! Love and Hugs, JB

She is in foal to Into Mischief for a late May 2018 foal.
She will probably be left open for 2019 to reset her schedule and reduce her weight, like they did after Z Princess in 2014/2015.
