    Best of Luck sent out to Dean and Patti Reeves . Thank You so much for your efforts to bring horse racing to Georgia. Wow is that a beautiful track proposal. With many shops and areas of entertainment.. I am sure hoping the legislation will pass and we get a chance to vote on it. Thank You again for everything you do for horseracing. I have to ask if the new track gets built you just have to bring your “Mucho Macho Man” down to do a parade around visit. You know you just have to bring him for a visit.

    Dear Max, Shirlee and Z Fans:

    Tiznoble was scratched from the LeComte by his trainer and Dolphus was scratched by the stewards. Hoping they’re both alright. Will have to watch to see when they’re entered to race again.

    The race was won by, Mo Tom, a son of Uncle Mo. Congrats Mo Tom and Uncle Mo. Love and Hugs, JB

      Wow, congrats to, Mexi and JV. Brave boy. No stoppin’ him! Glad all came home in good order, too.
      Have never seen so many grays race in one day. Everytime glancing at the TV, the fields were loaded with them. Gorgeous!

    It’s hard to be a role model. No matter how hard we try to avoid it, each of us is a role model whether we want to be or not. One person said she could serve as a role model for what not to do, but does that help anyone-herself included? Why is it so easy for us to tell others-especially children “do as I say and not as I do?” When children sort through experiences looking for guidance to embrace the good, what happens if that guidance isn’t there? Some complain that sports figures should be good role models. That may be true-but it’s even more important for us to be good role models in our own, close families. When we are, the world around us cannot break down the standard we raise.

    It is for you to make something of yourselves and this can only be done while you are young.

      You’re right, no surprises at the Eclipse Awards. Congratulations to American Pharoah, at any rate. Zoe was so happy that the Cardinals won, and yes. she looked wonderful in her beautiful little dress. I did see the pic of poor Ava.     Some superb horsemanship from Shorty today at Leopardstown when Killultagh Vic (who had the race at his mercy)pecked on landing and slid.He recovered beautifully and went on to win.The slide reminded me of Devon Loch in the 56’Grand National.I love jumps!!!Sheena

        Dear Max.Shorty said that Vic is the “forgotten” member of Mullins team.He really hopes he’s not entered in the Arkle against Douvan.It was an amazing recovery.Did you see the pic of Mullins with all the ladies?Sheena

        • It is hard to believe that this horse is rated on the third string of the Mullins army. K Vic has a huge will to win. It even looked like a hand rude at the end. I couldn’t believe it. I noticed that two of Vic’s three owners are women. I will check out spoof Mullins.

        Max,
        When you see the photos of this, the horse is down
        He gets up and wins the race from a standing start.
        Killultagh Vic must be well conditioned & strong to get off
        the ground with Ruby Walsh on his back and continue on.
        Ruby did his job-but I give a lot of credit to KV.

        • I think the same thing. Amazing horse. He’s not even considered to be one of Mullins’ best. Mullins as a trainer puts everything that he’s got heart and soul into training these horses. He’s training about 150 horses, but he knows each one of them individually and in depth. He carries around a notebook when he’s training. He trains mainly for jumps, but he’s got good flat horses too. Ryan Moore often rides the flat horses. In 2012 Moore won two races at Ascot within four days for Mullins on the same horse. It’s incredible conditioning.

    Congratulations to all the Eclipse award winners, there was never any doubt magnificent AP would win!! And special congrats to “Indy” on Codey’s Older Dirt Male win https://www.facebook.com/162609087279650/photos/np.1453059737583228.100000171611666/454501504757072/?type=3&notif_t=notify_me_page. I read his first season is all booked up……so great.
    So sorry to hear that OF’s Gulch was put to sleep because of cancer. RIP great one I was privledged to see you when I visited there 2 years ago.
    Judy The Beauty I just read your stories of Charlie, he is hilarious, just love those horses with a sense of humor. Maybe he would enjoy a jolly ball to chew on and would leave those dangerous tails alone. Too funny.

    Huge thanks to Xpressbet who streamed the Eclipse Awards live.
    There were so many great moments and speeches.
    Bob Baffert’s Trainer of the Year speech was humble and heartfelt
    He brought his wife Jill & son Bode with him to the stage.
    American Pharoah accepting his Horse of the Year was special.
    He wanted to keep the trophy-he did earn it.
    Vote was unanimous for Horse of the Year & Champion 3-year-old male
    Ahmed Zayat won Breeder of the Year, Owner of the Year and, in an incredibly gracious gesture, had his wife Joanne accept the Horse of The Year award.
    She gave a powerful and moving speech.
    It was a dual watching night-the Arizona Cardinal vs Green Bay Packers game was on television at the same time. Muted A crazy game the Cards won in OT.
    Chris McCarron was a presenter in his Cheese Hat.
    So, I was able to see both events

    One of the highlights of the Eclipse Awards was the presentation of the Award of Merrit. Leonard Lavin accepted by video. His grandson who now heads Glen Hill accepted in person.
    Mr. Lavin’s contributions in the horse world, in business, and philanthropy are
