Dear Ann, Marshall and Z Fans:
This is another video from Twitter on the episode with Rich Strike after the Derby. Hard to watch. I didn’t realize the Outrider struck RS repeatedly. I thought he got him cool and calmed down by just walking him out. Guess the Outrider reacted as he saw fit.
I hope the Outrider recovers from the bites he sustained and I hope Rich Strike is OK too.
Never saw a horse behave that aggressively after a race before. Upsetting. What do all of you think?

Judy,
Guess the outrider did what he needed to do. Richie could have really injured him and the pony. I think perhaps Richie was scared and a bit confused. From what his trainer said, he is not a mean horse.

Another big THANK YOU to all for that and I do agree heartily with everything posted. I do love it when the underdog/ dark horse wins and Rich Strike fit both those categories perfectly. On to the Preakness and Belmont. We’re expecting SNOW! tonight and a bit more Wednesday (That’s tonight) and perhaps on into Thursday, so will go out to tuck some things in.
