Happy Friday!
As you all know, Zenyatta delivered her first filly on Easter Sunday. She was born at 12:03 am, weighing in at 151 lbs! Zenyatta’s lifetime friend and current paddock mate, Life Is Sweet, delivered an adorable colt not an hour before, just as across the aisle from Zenyatta.
Earlier this month we held a contest asking fans to guess 14Z’s birthday, and we received over 2,500 entries. As usual, we couldn’t pick just one winner! Serena Riecken of Ashland, Nebraska is the official winner, guessing April 19 at 11:53 pm. Don Krueger entered April 20 at 12:04 am. He went over by just one minute, so we think he’s a winner too.
Serena and Don will each receive an 11″ x 14″ print of the above photo signed by the photographer and Zenyatta’s owners, Jerry and Ann Moss. If you would like to order a print of this image for yourself, it is now available here at the Zenyatta Shop.
In the coming days we will share more images from the night of the foaling, our trip, and Zenyatta with her darling filly. For now, we’ll leave you with just a few new photos.
Enjoy!

Hi Zenny and Hello to Princess 14Z:
Oh my goodness, is she not precious or what!!! She is beautiful. Wow, what long legs.
You know what I think is so cute: her mane appears to be curly. She does give the impression that she is a little lively one.
Love,
Linda

She’s a beauty just like her Mom. I think “ZenEaster” is a terric name. Fill me in on Zenyatta’s first 2 colts. Where are they, who owns them, & what are their names? Will her first colt begin his racing career this fall?
Thanks!
Kim
All of Zen’s offspring are owned by Ann and Jerry Moss. Cozmic One (12Z)is training in Florida and Ziconic (13Z) is still at Lane’s End.

She’s adorable! Princess Z!

How beautiful. I think Ameerah should be her name–it is princess in arabic I think.

Zenny ….you continue to be breath taking….Princess Z is truly lovely….just like you to make sure all was well with your bff LIS before producing this darling “little” girl….
I was calling her PrinZess but will go with Princess Z now…
…..
I have trying to keep up but have fallen way behind ….being a canine nurse is time consuming ….Roxy continues to astound her vet….she just is amazing…so because its getting hot here she got her summer cut today….no longer white and fluffy….the fluffy is gone….she loves anything “spa” related….
….
kisses for all soft noses everywhere

What a little beauty! Wonderful pictures. I’m a mare person; I can already see a little attitude in her stance! Love it!

Congratulations to all and thank you for sharing these wonderful photos. This Easter princess will be a delight for all to watch her grow. My thought for a name following in the “Z” tradition you’ve established is Zephyranthes, name for a Zephyr Lily. It is derived from Zephyrus, the Greek god of the ~west~ wind. This lily (or filly), I think, will ride like the wind……Best Wishes!

Team Z, thank you so much for these absolutely precious pictures. 14Z is adorable and Zenyatta looks so happy and healthy. Wow, I am speechless at how beautiful she is.
Thank you again.

Love them ALL!!!! Thanks so much team Z…you made my day :-)
Dona
Warrior Princess or Princess Warrior !!! What a cutie, I love her.
Our beautiful Champion and her adorable foal are so fortunate to have such a good life
with much love and the best of care but others are not so lucky and I have a plea for
such a family. In the Huffington Post. I just read an article that will bring you to tears
no matter who you are. It’s a story of a pony that litterally stood in the way of an oncoming fire to save her new born foal. Bella and Butterscoth were found by firefighters in a burning barn , where Bella had backed her baby in a corner to save her. The Humane Society of North Texas needs funds to help pay for the care of this heroic mother and her tiny baby.

Please help with whatever you can.

Dona–Trina posted this earlier too. Hopefully, many will help. I pray so. Hugs.

Thank you so much for your post, Dona! I don’t think many people saw my post on the previous Blog entry. Since I got an error message (“Something’s Missing”) when I clicked on your link, I’ll help out here with another link. http://www.azcentral.com/story/news/nation/2014/04/22/texas-heroic-pony-saves-foal-fire/8013233/
I’ve sent a donation to help Bella and her precious foal Butterscotch in honor of Zenyatta and her Princess, and I hope many Z-sters will join in the cause. I think Zenyatta would find it a very suitable way to honor her and 14Z. Many thanks to all who can help Bella and her precious foal Butterscotch! Love and hugZ, Trina

She’s lovely! Glad both mum and foal are doing well. When the time comes, I think Zephyr would be a lovely name for her.

Zephyr is a great name.

Oh my goodness, Princess Z is just the cutest thing ever! What a sweet little face she has. It’s hard to believe she weighs 151 lbs. It’s a good thing that her mom is so big! And it warms my heart so much to hear that Z’s buddy Life is Sweet was right across from her having her colt. I can’t thank you enough for sharing these sweet pictures, Team Z. This truly made my day.

Never get tired of the lovely photos of Zenyatta and her beautiful “children.” Thanks for posting these pics and I, along with all the other Zillion-Zenyatta-Fans, will look forward to more as Z14 grows.

FIRST OF ALL, THANK YOU TEAM Z!!! I just can’t express enough appreciation for your generosity to me (and all of Z’s thousands of fans) in sharing these special moments in your life and in my Big Girl’s with such sensitivity. My hope is that the racing world will listen — and watch — how you have decided to support all things thoroughbred. To have lost Zenny to retirement, as happens so often, would have been a lifelong heartbreak for me. Now, while respecting your decisions and privacy, I feel bonded to Zenny, her family and her BFF, Life Is Sweet, in a way that is unprecedented in my life.
Secondly, I’m elated to know a Princess who’s a BIG, STRONG GIRL. If I had a daughter or a niece I’d be burning up telecommunications to tell her that Princesses don’t need to be fragile to fulfill their futures and that feminine can be BIG & STRONG. Because here’s our Princess and just look at her!
Like everyone else, I’ve got to add just how exquisite she is. I love her dark, expressive eyes, her poise and her wide, intelligent brow. She radiates poise and confidence already. What a presence she has for a baby who’s only a little shy of 5 days old!!!! And I actually see a facial resemblance between her and baby Ziconic.
So Big Girl, you DID REAL GOOD again. The melting look in your eyes as you nuzzle her kind of says it all.
As a celebration of my love for you, Zenny, my love for Coz & Ziconic, my respect for Team Z and the arrival of your Princess, I’m off to the Humane Society of North Texas to make a donation to Bella and Butterscotch.
Love to all and butterfly kisses to you, Zenny.

Thanks for mentioning the pictures on the Lane’s End Website. The 1st one you get to is Anne and Z and the very last picture at the very end is Z and Princess Z. Just gorgeous, thanks so much for pointing those out, I would of never known they were there. All of the pictures are gorgeous, this filly is something special but would we expect anything less of Z…I think not! Thanks so much for sharing the pictures with us. I cannot wait to see pics of LIS and her beautiful colt, I think he is a Tapit, right? I am so glad that these two lifelong friends are together. That is so important for their mental health, the support that they give one another is great!
Jeanie
She is the spitting image! I am so happy!!!!! At 151 pounds, she is the largest of the three!

Zenyatta, you must be so proud. Your girl is bringing down the house already.
Literally-crashed the site again.
Everyone has used up; the adjectives to describe her.
And, I agree to every one of them.
She has that very special Z factor of beauty and assurance.
Thank you Ann & Jerry Moss for sharing your treasured filly with us.
Thank you Team Z especially Kyle for her great pics. & to all for the work to maintain this site for us.
What a joyous way to start the weekend!
