Today’s post is dedicated to the memory of Tasty Temptation, who passed away in late 2013. Tasty was by Zenyatta’s side during her early days at Lane’s End Farm. They carried their foals together and shared a special bond. Tasty will always be remembered fondly by the Zenyatta community.
Further information about Tasty’s passing has been released by Lane’d End. Statement
Lane’s End has been very generous opening their doors to Zenyatta.com and her passionate fans. Their experts have shared with us the inner workings of the farm and granted unprecedented access to the breeding and foaling process. We ask that our fans respect the privacy of Lane’s End and the privately owned horses they care for. All information that Team Zenyatta and Lane’s End Farm wishes to release to the public will be available here or at Lanesend.com.

Remembering Tasty as a stakes winning racehorse. The video has good shots of her as she heads to the winner’s circle.

Dear Max:
What a finish by TT in that one. She looks gorgeous; her coat hadn’t lightened yet and she’s a beautiful steel grey color. Rest In Peace Beautiful Girl. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Lanes End and Tasty’s connections:
This was such very sad news. She was a beautiful mare and gone way too soon. I hope her one surviving foal (the first one?) will do well in her memory. It hurts to learn that her Unbridled’s Song foal died, and I’m guessing she was in foal again when she passed. All so terribly star crossed,
As Zenny’s pal in the early days, we will love her forever. She will run free as Zenny’s guardian angel.
Would Tasty’s owners allow the beautiful photo above to be sold as a print with the proceeds going to equine health research? Maybe the Grayson or Morris Animal research entities? Too often we hear about heart attacks in our wonderful horses. There must be a way to tackle that problem.

Dear Diana:
That’s a lovely idea; a way to honor TT’s memory and help horses. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Lane’s End. Thank you for sharing this news about Zenyatta’s best friend. It is very sad to hear of her passing. We have heavy hearts today. She was such a character in her devotion to Zenyatta. We all loved her and were so pleased you all shared her with us. Please thank her owners too and she will always be one of my favorites.
And Diana – Your comments are just beautiful and it would truly be a photo I would purchase with the proceeds going to a wonderful cause. I do hope TT’s first foal is doing well.

What a depressing start to the weekend. The worst confirmation regarding the elegant and feisty Tasty. And I’m feeling so badly for Max. I join with Sheena and others in looking forward to your return. Best thoughts from Downunder.

Dear Judy.Such a sad night.Tasty gone too soon and Max so upset It is a pity we hadn’t got to hear at the time.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT Little Cap Hercules and all the Sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX I loved this verse when I first heard it.
There’s an open gate at the end of the road,
Through which each must go alone,
And there in a light we cannot see ,our Father claims his own.
Beyond the gate our loved one finds happiness and rest,
And there is comfort in the thought, that a loving God knows best.

My condolenses go out to everyone who cared for Tasty and loved her.
Tasty we will love you forever and will see you one day.
Max, your post was wonderful. And the Truth. Tasty’s gone home to her owner. So glad he shared her with us as long as he did. I don’t think we’ll have to worry about Privacy issues when we get to heaven and that is going to be wonderful.

TT was a blessing to her owners for the time she spent on this earth.
She was a blessing to Zenyatta as close equine buddies and she was a
blessing to those of us who were introduced to her by way of the early
Z diaries. If she had not been with Zenyatta during their first year as broodmares many of us may never have known about Tasty Temptation. I think that made her extra special to the Z nation.
As much as we want to know about every horse we form an attachment for, there
will be many instances where we will not.
RIP Tasty Temptation

Our hearts are heavy learning the news about TT. We Zenyatta fans are passionate about our Queen and all who touch her life and TT was a huge part of her early days at LE. Thank you, Team Z, for sharing this information with us although you had no reason to do so other than a sincere desire to keep the Z family updated on important things that may have affected the Queen and her family of fans. You have ALWAYS gone above and beyond the norm when it comes to keeping us all connected and for that we are eternally grateful. Little did we know when we started this incredible journey in 2007 with our belove Zenny that we would have such a unique bond.
Marshall (NC Broad)
Sue and Tony,
Amen! Couldn’t agree more.
Lots of Hugs and Love

Love to all of Team Z and LE for everything they do to keep us updated on all things that affect the great Zenyatta and her life. This news is especially hard to hear because we loved TT because she was one of Zenny’s BFF. You know, when I hear of these things I am remended how exceptional it is that Zenny raceed until late in her 6th. year and breezed into retirement and motherhood just as she did everything else…with ease. I will say an extra prayer tonight for the lovely and spunky TT and for our Zenyatta and her foals.
Alene
This is unbearably HORRIBLE. All I can say is RIP gorgeous girl. You will be missed! I sit typing with tears running down my cheeks. Why do things like this happen? We cannot ask that question! God bless Tasty, her family, and another angel has wings. Alene

Lane’s End and Team Z, Thank you for sharing the news of a wonderful mare and great friend of Zenyatta’s. It was always so special to see them together and we knew they were both content sharing the pasture with their foals too. It is so very sad to hear.
I am sure that TT lived a super life with super care and so she left us suddenly thinking of tomorrows pasture there. What is awesome is that TT just looked forward for tomorrow just like the rest of the innocent beautiful thoroughbreds and she did not have to suffer. God bless, Sally B

June 28 Cherokee Devotional
Music is the universal language-a link between people who have no other form of communication. It even helps us to understand ourselves when it brings out an emotion that was too deeply buried. Music was meant to be an integral part of our lives. A familiar tune can sweep us back to another time or another place that we thought was lost. It is the harmony that helps us blend the old with the new and dilutes a bitter memory. Few important events are without music. Bands have rallied us to patriotism, hymns have helped us to be reverent, and the sweet song of a small child can cause a tenderness to come on the hardest heart. The Cherokee calls it di ka no gi dv, the music of the spirit-in the turtledove, in the mockingbird, in the gurgling stream.
I take you by the hand with all my heart because you have spoken words of comfort to us.
