Today’s post is dedicated to the memory of Tasty Temptation, who passed away in late 2013. Tasty was by Zenyatta’s side during her early days at Lane’s End Farm. They carried their foals together and shared a special bond. Tasty will always be remembered fondly by the Zenyatta community.
Further information about Tasty’s passing has been released by Lane’d End. Statement
Lane’s End has been very generous opening their doors to Zenyatta.com and her passionate fans. Their experts have shared with us the inner workings of the farm and granted unprecedented access to the breeding and foaling process. We ask that our fans respect the privacy of Lane’s End and the privately owned horses they care for. All information that Team Zenyatta and Lane’s End Farm wishes to release to the public will be available here or at Lanesend.com.

To Max if you’re reading this. You will be greatly missed! You are such an important contributor here.

Thank you so much for sharing this very sad news with us. We realize how fortunate we are that Team Z continues to treat all of us with such kindness and respect as fans of our Queen. I understand you have no obligation to provide any information at all yet you continue to give us so many inside glimpses into the life of the wondermare we love so much, as well as giving us knowledge of the life on the farm and training centers. We are blessed. I am so sorry for the loss of the beautiful Tasty Temptation and my heart goes out to all her connections.

UK Armed Forces Day.Thinking of all the sailors, soldiers and airmen past and present who have given their lives so our little Island remains FREE.On this day in 1914 Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated in Sarajevo. His death set in motion a chain of events that, ultimately, led to the outbreak of World War 1.RIP God bless our Forces always,Sheena.
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Sheena,
Very well said! Thoughts and prayers to those who have given their all so that the free- world can remain free. A century since the beginning of the Great War — the war to end all wars, and yet the wars continue. Maybe one day we will get there; we must not lose hope.
Lest we forget

Dear Kathy. So sad our worst fears were confirmed last night about Tasty.I do pray Max will return soon, she needs time to heal.My last word on the subject,I just felt it could have been handled more sensitively we live in a 24hr media world now so we were bound to have found out sooner or later.
Thunderstorms at Newmarket today, torrential rain also rain at Wimbledon so far dry in Wales! The chicks are growing so fast now, they will be ringed in about 2and 1/2 weeks.Lovely video of them but I didn’t feel it right to post the link last night.
So glad to see Joey back on TV they still haven’t found out what went wrong but he’s looking so much better.Dolly is off on a break and thinking of closing down her public page!I will miss her and Harry and life in Tripoli we’ll see.Zoe had a wonderful post about meeting Mr Morrie she is such a beautiful dog.Safe trip for Australia at the Curragh later today!Have a great day.Hugs to you,Kisses for Holly, Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
I’m heartbroken at the loss of Tasty. She was such a beauty and will be missed so much. It won’t be the same without Max, but I understand. Glad to hear the chicks are doing well. They grow incredibly fast. Joey seems to be returning to normal. Playing with cat toys, and everything. Sorry to see that Dolly might be closing her page. I saw Zoe’s post about Mr. Morrie. She’s such a precious little girl. Absolutely, safe trip for Australia at the Curragh. Safe trip for all horses running today, and their jockeys, too. Have a good day and a good weekend. Hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy.

when I posted last night…I forgot to Thank Team Z and Lands End for getting his information for us….even though it is devastatingly sad….they must have had to secure permission from “who knows how many” to post the news…
RIP Tasty…we will do our best to try to keep track of your boy for you…

Carol, On a happier note, have you any news of Rivers?

Well dear friends I must share a personal loss. My puppydoodle, White Lightning, has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. He was only 18 months old but it was a happy 18 months. He was the first dog of my very own. I was always a cat person. When my Mom passed away I found the loneliness difficult. My cat Cotton not withstanding. So I picked my puppydoodle to share my life. He was a weird looking dog with a long stubby body, big shoulders, short legs and a beautiful head. He was white with a black spot just over his tail and two black ears. He was scared of the dark, thunder, gunfire, rain and Cotton. Though Cotton in her cat way is grieving, too. RIP dear doodle. And RIP Tasty.
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Dear Vicki
So sorry to hear of your loss. So glad you had the happy time with him.
Barbara Wood (Texas)
@Vicki–I am so very sorry for your loss. Loss compounding loss. That must mean there is another somewhere who needs you. Hugs.
Kathy
Dear Vicki,
My condolences on the loss of White Lightning. 18 months is not nearly long enough time. Praying for your grieving heart.
Hugs, Kathy
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Vicki, I’m so sorry for the loss of your puppy doodle. Hugs to you and Cotton.

Dear Vicki:
So sorry for your loss. Always heartbreaking to lose one. Rest In Peace beautiful White Lightning. Love and Hugs, JB
Marshall (NC Broad)
Vicki,
So sorry about the loss of your puppydoodle, White Lightning. He sounds like a wonderful doggie. No matter the length of the trail we share with our beloved, whether short or long, it is never long enough.
I agree with Barbara Wood, though, that there must be someone else out there who needs some happiness and love.
Lots of Love and Hugs to you and Cotton. RIP White Lightning, dear boy.
shirleeinindy
So sorry for your loss of your beloved dog. 18 months is just not enough but perhaps he left to make room for another who needs your love and care.

Vicki-So sorry to read of your loss. I can only hope that time heals you. I have been off the blog for awhile working on an old time radio project involving the Lone Ranger. Sandy gave me a heads-up about Tasty. I was going to post a joke today but it would be inappropriate. Sorry to see that Max is taking a leave of absence. I am going to take a different tack than most of you. I did not see the need for the secrecy in this case. The news was available from other sources and has actually been hinted at in previous threads. Hugs to all of my friends here on the blog who keenly felt this loss. You are correct, Max. Tasty has returned to her owner.
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Dear Terry, Oh My Gosh, You have made this day a lot better. So glad to see you back. So many of us are so heartbroken about Tasty. We’ve lost so many. She was such a beauty. You and Max are so right she’s gone home to her owner. That makes me happy.
Love and Hugs sent to Ya.
Kathy
So good to see you back, Terry!
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Welcome back TC. We missed you and it’s good to have a family member back (especially when we’re missing some others).

Dear Terry C.,
I am so happy that you are back, dear friend! Look forward to hearing about your radio project. Your reappearance on the blog is the good news today! Hugs and Love
Terry Crow
Marshall and Ann-Thanks so much.
Ann NC
Who was that maked man?
Don’t be a stranger, TC GP.
Abigail_1849
Terry! So pleased to see you back. The Lone Ranger???? Be still my heart. One of my hugest childhood memories is my Dad taking my sister & I to see “The Lone Ranger And The Lost City of Gold” and there was Silver — one of my equine idols — big as life just inches from the tip of my nose! (I hope you mean the original Lone Ranger and not the latest one, which I finally watched because I adore The Depp but found not nearly as much fun!)
Terry Crow
Abigail-The last two reincarnations of the Ranger, The ones “starring” Klinton Spilsbury and Armie Hammer as the Ranger, are not fit to be mentioned here. There is only one Lone Ranger, Clayton Moore, although Brace Beemer, the radio Ranger, was an impressive man who really knew how to ride.
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Terry So glad to see you back.I am missing Max so much.I saw no need for secrecy either!Hugs Sheena.
Terry Crow
Peggy-Can’t remember the last time somebody stated that I made a day a lot better. Thank you. Sheena-Agree with you completely. The blog is just not the same without one of our most admired and prolific posters. Max-we will miss you however long you are away.
Terry Crow
@Rosemary-Haven’t seen you here recently. Noted is the fact that Game In Dude is running in the Gold Cup today. You know my opinion on the way this horse has been managed by Baffert. Always appreciate comments from you.

@Shirley…Rivers posted a bullet this past wk….he is at “Churchill training center”….its where he stays between races ….

Dear Carol:

Barbara Wood (Texas)
@TC, GP– welcome back. You have been greatly missed. Want to hear about the Lone Project later when you have time. I want to always keep that picture on the top of the blog in my head of Zenny and Tasty running together.
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Dear Barbara
Me too, I saved that picture too.
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Peggy and Barb W.:
I did too. Love and Hugs, JB
Terry Crow
I used to belong to an old time radio group and we recreated old shows from studios that used to be at the old NBC. We decided to do another Lone Ranger show as sort of a reunion. We are having trouble, however, with the group that still owns the copyright. I have recorded the introduction and I hope it sees the light of day. From out of the past come the hoofbeats of the great horse Silver. The Lone Ranger rides again!
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear TC GP:
When you get it completed, would love if you could post it on the Blog (audio or visual) and share it with us. Love and Hugs, JB
Terry Crow
Judy-It is complete. The only thing stopping me from doing what you suggested is the legal ramifications. As I said, the people that still own the copyright are not friendly types. Clayton Moore had the same problem when he continued to do personal appearances as the Ranger after the series was long gone from TV. The Wrather Corporation sued him in an attempt to keep him from doing appearances dressed as the Ranger. For awhile, he was forced to wear sunglasses instead of his signature mask.
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Dear Judy
Hey, I am beginning to scare myself, I picked another winner today. “Round” at first race at Belmont Park today. He won. I think it was a first win for him. He looked awesome in the post parade. He was just prancing up and down.
Loved # l trained by John Sherriffs (Chestnut) Beautiful. But round was on his toes today.
Didn’t know if I could even watch the horses today. Terry’s showing up here today sure lifted the spirit.
OK, now it’s good luck to Tapible
Good Luck to Game On Dude, Tomorrow.
California Chrome, Wise Dan, Keep on getting better.
Hey, you guys hope you could both race another year, sure would like to see ya in the breeders cup next year.. Maybe in person. At Keeneland Not meaning to skip this year. But I just adore Keeneland. Will it hold everyone though. Lo
They are so nice there in Lexington. Got to make it to California one year too. It’s in my bucket list.
Peggy (N) South Georgia
So want to go back to Ramsey’s Diner in Lexington. Wonderful southern food.
They are so nice in there. Mom & Pop atmoshere. I would give it a 5 star on food.
All the southern dishes. I remember me and Debbie talked about it before too.
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Peggy:
I’m not surprised at all; it’s not the first time your intuition was correct.
Power Up Danny, CC, Beholder, ROC, CDA, Reilly and all who are ill or injured. Beast, Max is watching you; be a good boy. Love and Hugs, JB

Peggy, Round is a very good looking horse and out of Arch. Claiborne’s boys Arch and First Sam had a winning day and night. First Sam’s kids, Size and Carve took big races in Iowa.
Terry Crow
Del Mar in 2017 for the BC would be a good way to fulfill that part of your list.

To the owners of Tasty Temptation: I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for allowing Lanes End and Team Zenyatta to share this information with us. Tasty was very much loved by all of Zenny’s fans and will always be remembered as Z’s best friend. She was a beautiful mare and so full of love and life.
To Lanes End and Team Zenyatta: Thank you all so much for everything that you do to keep us Z fans in the loop. I appreciate everything that you guys do!
Marshall (NC Broad)
Arieschild,
Very well said! I certainly agree with what you have expressed.
Much appreciation to Lane’s End and Team Z for all they do. Just knowing that TT was still around was comforting, and we will certainly miss her on this side of the Rainbow Bridge.
Big Hugs
Peggy (N) South Georgia
OMG, Can’t skip wishing Good luck to the Japanese runners tomorrow.
Gold Ship and Gentildonna, Can’t choose between you too. Good luck to all.
It will be a late night for me tonight. No telling what time that race will run. I know after l am or after east coast time. I might just have to set my alarm. Good luck to all horse everywhere.
Deb E.
My sincere condolences go out to Tasty’s human family and everyone at Lane’s End who took such excellent care of her. She was such a beautiful lady with those gorgeous silver dapples. Thank you to Team Z for sharing this sad news with us. And to Zenny: I’m so sorry you lost your friend. You must miss her a great deal.
Rest in Peace Tasty Temptation. May you always run free in the fields and meadows of Heaven.
Joy Wilkins
Thank you Team Z for giving us closure on a wonderful mare and companion to Zenyatta. TT was special to all of us. May she will live on through her Candy Ride colt! The site you have created is unique and special and we are so very grateful for your generosity knowing that it is very time consuming and costly.
While it is easier to find out what has become of the colts that race, it is not so easy to track down our favorite fillies, especially when they are sent to farms to be bred and replenish the market. These mares fought hard battles on the track, just like the colts–but then disappear. Zenyatta’s site has allowed us, no matter what our level of equine knowledge, to become a part of her life. We adore her paddock mates and their foals. This site has allowed us to watch her foals grow up and be part of every facet of their life. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could follow the careers of some of our past racing fillies and share pics and info?
Zenyatta’s exciting and charismatic racing brought back my enthusiasm which had faded. The memories of our Sunny’s Halo colt, Sunny Sunrise, trained by Buddy Delp and owned by the Meyerhoffs, and his wire to wire win in the Hawthorne Gold Cup over Marquetry still brings back happy memories of times past.
Ann NC
That is a happy memory, thank you.
Was Chris Antley riding that day?
Was happy to read, Buddy’s son, A. Delp had a winner this week. Yeah!

Tony
I, like many others here, was saddened to hear of the passing of TT. ..how sad that she had problems adjusting to motherhood with her first born then lost her second in a tragic paddock incident. Hopefully the time she spent with Zenny was a happy time for her. Our Zenny seems to take each new aspect of her life with such ease! She is truly heaven sent. On another subject, I don’t know Max but this community ia all about love and support. For that reason I think Max should stay connected to this place. It really is tonic for one’s soul.

Found a colt by Cozi Rosie out of Deep Impact listed in the sale.
Hip 100. If you click on the number, you can see a picture of him.
I remember when Cozi Rosie raced for Jerry and Ann Moss. Our loss
and Japan’s gain. There are a few other names like Azeri, Diamondrella on the list under dams.
