Happy Wednesday!
Zenyatta and 13Z are settling into their summer routine. As you can see, Zenyatta spends her days grazing and rolling in the grass. Her colt is acclimating well to his new paddock mate. The boys can’t resist a nip & tug of the halter.
Also, at the end of this post, see a short clip Alys took of Zenyatta and her colt a few days after the birth.
Check back later in the week for updates to the Video and Photo sections along with new print additions to the Zenyatta Shop.
Enjoy!

Dear Lane’s End Team and Z Team:
Thank you so very much for these latest gorgeous photos and video of Z and Little Red.
Alys, another wonderful group of photos. Little Red reminds me so much of his brother in the one where he is bending his front legs to graze. There was a very similar pose taken of COZ at that age. Little Red gets more beautiful every new photo. Thank you again. Love and Hugs, JB

Great pictures Alys. Glad they are doing well.

What a wonderful mid-week treat! Z13 was so inquisitive at just a few days old. That surely must indicate a very intelligent foal. Like mother like son! Thank you so much, Team Z!
Zenyen
What an absolutely gorgeous colt! He just keeps looking better and better and I love his independent, forward nature.
Cannot wait to see him further develop, thank you again Lane’s End for the pictures!

Apparently the little red haired kid was born knowing what to do in front of a camera. That’s our boy!!! Thank you so much for the pics and video!!!
Rhonda

Diana Stuart - How Fun!
Dear Team Z and LE: Thank you so much! These are such fun photos and video. A real cheer up after somewhat of a downer week or so. How could anyone’s frown not turn to a smile at beautiful Zenyatta and her little red cutie? The 5th photo down is just TOO CUTE!!! Little kissy faces!!!

Nice pictures..thank you much…this colt is built different that the first one…I see better confirmation in him already…but that could change…guess we shall see when the running starts….

That is one boss baby!
Mom looks great with dapples on top of dapples.
Looks to me like they are both in heaven.

Team Z – what a difference a few weeks will make! Everyone is looking great and I see that fly mask season is in swing!
With new foals having such long legs, it is so cute the way then bend down to graze! WE are so impressed with 13Z’s confirmation and substantial muscular structure – a real contender in the making!!
We hope to see some updates on Coz soon as well – he is so special and I am sure looking very much like a more mature horse.
We love you and look forward to the next updates soon!

Wow! What a great way to greet Wednesday evening — with Zenny and the little Redhead! And I’m beginning to think he’ll stay a chestnut, but am I too early on that?
And hello to my favourite tribe — the Zen-sters!
It’s been a wet yucchy day here, but sun flows in my heart as I look at these fabulous new photos and watch the video. Thank you so much Alys and Lane’s End. I do appreciate all the work you do to keep Zenny’s virtual family close and up-to-date.
I’ve been toiling on a new article for THE VAULT about an almost-forgotten champion most of yesterday and today. I had decided to take a time-out during the Triple Crown racing, since this is what interests most readers (understandably) and finding a new angle to write about it is almost impossible. So I decided to go back to THE VAULT’s signature pieces with an article that celebrates our proud racing history. Naturally, I’ll let everyone know just as soon as its up — probably Thursday or Friday.
Happy Birthday, Peggy!
It’s so nice to see so many friends.
Love & hugs to all and peppermint kisses to my Big Girl and her boys.
P.S. I wonder if Coz has left for the Mayberry’s yet. If not, I’d love to see a recent photo next time!

Geez. This computer is ALWAYS second-guessing me. Sorry for the blunder at the beginning of the second paragraph. Glad I haven’t poured myself a glass of wine yet –LOL!

Can’t wait to hear about the article!!

Abigail,
He is not two years old yet until January 2014, he will then go to two year old training.

DeniseC, we have discussed the timeline many times when you used to post as Sign. The Mayberrys generally take in the youngsters as yearlings. The horses generally LEAVE the Mayberrys’ when they turn two. Zenyatta for instance turned two (biologically) on April 1, 2006 and LEFT the Mayberrys’ for John Shirreffs’s barn later that month.
Trina Nagele in So Cal
Small Correction: Zenyatta left the Mayberrys’ at the beginning of May 2006, not the end of April 2006.
Michele
Beautiful. I love the video. That is a good protective mama! I like how she subtly told her baby to move away from the camera. So sweet.

Big thanks Team Z and Lane’s end. It was just wonderful to check in and see new photos and video of Zenyatta and red prince. He looks so handsome and has quite the air of a prince. Reminds me…how is Coz doing? Need to see some new photos of that boy. He must be getting as big as his momma.
Love you Zenyatta, Coz and red prince.
Gloria
It’s always a joy to see new pics of all that is Zenyatta! Love it that she still mugs for the camera! Thank you for the pictures and update!
Ronni
Wonderful pictures and update!! They both look fabulous!!!
