2 GOOD THINGS: First, So. Cal got much needed rain today. Best, there are new pics out of our darling girl in an “all business” mode. Could it be there’s some peppermints to be had? I think Alys may have captured a little story here. She just has an unfailing “eye,” and all of us can enjoy the moment in our own way. So grateful, Jan Overman

Thank you for the beautiful pictures of a happy healthy Zenny. Sure warmed up this cold Indiana winter day. Ann & Jerry should use one of these photos on their Christmas card.
Sweet Zenny, Silver Charm (the real one) is back in Kentucky at Old Friends. Too bad he is too old for you!
LauraJ (Cincinnati, OH)
LOL! I think that Little Silver Charm would say that he is just as real as the big one.

What beautiful pictures of our Queen!!! Wonder what she thinks about the snow? Does she remember from last year? Thanks for the “heads up” Sheena. I might not have seen these until tomorrow. Thanks to Alys for the photos, Team Z for the post, everyone at Lane’s End for the loving care they provide, and the Mosses for continuing to share this magnificent horse with all of us. <3

Gee – Zenny has more snow to play in than I have in my section of Michigan! We have been having rain and it took all our snow away…She looks gorgeous as always!!!
Rita
Zen will always be a beautiful girl just as her personality is. I can’t wait to get up to Kentucky in hopes of seeing her.

ZENNY!
Just look at that FROSTY NOSE! It takes me back to that day on December 20 where you ran free @ LE for the first time. Such a gorgeous video — it was one of my very BEST Christmas gifts that year.

It’s impossible to forget your beauty, Zen, but when I see new photos of you it still takes my breath away. I can’t help it. I just love you, Big Girl!
FYI: You’ve got MORE SNOW in Kentucky than we have in Montreal!!!! In fact, we have NONE at the moment. We’ve had some snow but then it gets warm and melts away.
Love & hugs to all

Thanks for linking to the video of her first time turned out in the paddock and snow. Always such a treat to watch her flag her tail and run like that with such carefree abandon, but you could see the determined safety measures that were put in place for this special romp – handlers standing along the fence line, handlers in every corner, extra something around the waterer – every thing just so well planned for her safety. She is is such good hands at Lane’s End. So beautiful.
Deb E.
Bless her precious heart. Zenny’s had a rough few months of personal losses, but she looks just as gorgeous and serenely majestic as ever.
Yesterday I received the DVD, Zenyatta: A Living Legend, which I believe was released by TVG just before her very last race in the 2010 BC Classic. Watching all 19 of her victorious races, I was amazed to discover that Zenyatta did a slight sweeping motion with her head when she settled in the back of the field in each race like she’s analyzing her victims…er… (Ahem!)…competitors (Sorry!), and deciding when and by what route she’d methodically pick each one of them off in devastating fashion. She ALWAYS chose when SHE wanted to make her run, and Her Mike just went right along with her. I hardly ever saw any instances where Mike Smith used the crop on Zenyatta; in fact he said in an interview on the DVD if she ever decided to run full out like she was capable of, her margins of victory would be even wider than they were. In his opinion, Zenny had many more gears she could have called upon to run even faster, and during her career she wasn’t even using half of them to win. Wow.
