We will be raising funds for our favorite Thoroughbred charities over the Breeders’ Cup weekend. Look out for upcoming posts detailing the 2020 Zenyatta Celebration.

    Thanks to Alys for the pictures of Zenny and her girl. That little girl is growing up fast and she has Mom’s Roberto ears. What a nice gift to find on a rainy Sunday morning.

    Watching her races never gets old, I often bring the dvds out, the classic will always go down in the history of the sport, the race call will go down in the history of the sport. While still miss seeing Z on the track and it is still hard to think over 10 years now since we said farewell to her life on the track, we celebrate now through her foals. Z has always been a bright spot for me through out with the loss of my husband, and now with my own health issues, she has always brought that smile to my face, and a tear or two to this day. She will forever be loved, even though she is not ours but we all hold that special place in are hearts when it comes to her. Thanks to all the connections for still sharing her with us.

    Also so glad to see Zenny and 20Z. They both look terrific and glad to hear how they are loved and appreciated for the wonders that they are. Our Queen is definitely carrying a little one, is she not?

        I just watched the replay of that amazing Breeders Cup Classic win at Belmont Park in 2001. Tiznow was brilliant! What an exciting run to the wire — great call, too. The USA needed the uplifting win that fall, and Tiznow brought it home to his wounded country. Something to be happy about!

        • Now we have Tiz The Law.
          Incredible looking back at the bloodlines there.
          Tiznow was up against the incredible Albert The Great. His sire is Go for Gin.
          Go For Gin sired mare Gin Running who was bred with Tiznow and produced mare, TizFiz. Go For Gin also rolled and was upside down the entire time we met him, ha!
          Tiz Fiz is Mom of Tiz the Law.
          Tiznow line is great! Greatness meets again off track.

      I will never forget meeting Tiznow at Winstar! I wasn’t walking well enough to do the rest of the tour – Debbie and my friend Carol took pictures for me – but I DID get to see him!! Happy Retirement to a great horse!

    Happy Friday everyone! Our boy Hovis is doing a tad better but still seems to have a long way to go. Mini Mum has been quite attentive, and he had a visit from a massage therapist that was all kinds of interesting. You’ll see :-)

      Thank you for our weekly Hovis report. Astonishing how he and Mum can keep their wonderful sense of humor. So glad that Hovis is a bit less hoppy and hoping he will continue to improve. Sending more prayers for healing to our Hoverine Hero. More prayers to St. Francis to keep watch over him and to protect him.

    Thanks to everyone for the pics of Tiznow and the bloodline lesson. Glad he is retired healthy and happy.

    Be sure to read Bloodhorse.com today. An interesting article on Gamine and Bob Baffert. I am beginning to wonder about some of these reports. Always thought he was a good guy, but have heard rumors to the contrary.

      This is disturbing news about Gamine’s positive test for betamethasone. I certainly hope it can be cleared up successfully and truthfully.

      Congrats to Van Gogh, American Pharoah’s first European Group 1 winner — trained by Aidan O’Brian. He won on turf. Congrats to all connections.

        Hi again,

        The article about Van Gogh is in BloodHorse today, and there is a replay video with it. The race was the Criterium International at St. Cloud, and AP’s colt won by at least 4 lengths. Great race, Van Gogh!!
