Zenyatta will not be bred this year. She continues to do well and is looking great with her new paddock buddy—even sharing her cookies. We’ll post more photos of them soon!
We appreciate all of the love and support her fans have shown. While we understand the concern the public has for Zenyatta’s well-being, we ask that you do not contact Lane’s End Farm to inquire about Zenyatta or her foals. We do our best to be generous with information and to share Zenyatta’s life with her fans through this website. Zenyatta.com will continue to be the source of official updates on all things Zenyatta.

Lady, so sad for your hard luck. There’s always next year.
Stay heathy.

I cannot believe some people would be so rude and intrusive as to contact Lane’s End directly. Zenny certainly deserves a little break and time to hang with her pasturemate and just be a horse for a bit!
Rosemary McCauley
Wendy, agreed. None of her connections has any obligation whatsoever to provide us intimate details of of the lives of any of their horses. If no public announcement of the incident with her pregnancy until a month later is their business and no one else’s. It was heartbreaking to them and I’m sure they needed time to grieve before telling the world and the inevitable resultant criticisms. Land’s End is a professional facility and they would no more give out medical information about those in their care than if someone contacted our doctor’s office and asked about our health. We are blessed to have this unprecedented access and we have to be very careful not to push the patience of these good people or I fear the site will be shut down.
Ann
Thank you for the update and remember Something Royal didn’t throw her best baby until she was 18. She had 18 named foals and lived to the ripe old age of 31.
shirleeinindy
And wasn’t he Something Royal! Let’s leave it to the professionals to decide when and if she is bred again.

Daria, I agree with what you wrote. I just posted a reply to Wendy above with my thoughts. I’m happy the Queen is doing well.
Julie Laskey
It’s unfortunate what happened but as with any pregnancy whether horse or human things just happen. Have you ever considered breeding her to Curlin as he crosses well with Street Cry daughters and granddaughters?
Bluegrass Girl
Beautiful Zenyatta-you look amazing.
Thank you Team Z for the update.
Looking forward to more photos and updates soon.
Each one is so appreciated.
Daria Bigblock
I’m sorry, but WHO are the idiots calling the farm office about her? Do they not have many, many other horses that are just as important to them? Probably the same ones that do not understand a mare having issues carrying a foal, and God forbid if something eventually happens to Zenny because of “another issue” trying to birth a foal, the same people bothering Lane’s End will be the ones jumping off a cliff or having massive panic attacks when something happens to Zeny. Glad to see that Rachels owners could easily and early recognize a problem and not breed her. And SHE had 2 foals, 2 immediate winners. I’m just happy Zenny is happy in the pasture with her buddy and is not still in the vet or worse. You all should be happy for her as well. She has done enough on the track where she need not do another thing on the farm, including being constantly bred only to lose them for one reason or another. Geesh!
Barbara Brayton
Bless her heart. Hope Zenyatta enjoys her time off.
Kim
Thank you for the info and I respect your privacy!
Delrene from Carlsbad
Thank you for this recent update on Zenyatta well being. She will have a wonderful summer with her paddock pal. Carefree and happy in the bluegrass.
We all appreciate the continuation of her website.
We all look forward to hearing news of our Queen and her babies.
Look forward to more news when available and especially the naming of her princess.
Have a safe and pleasant Memorial Day weekend. ??

Please read my comments under Roberta Gonzalez. I did not, and would not post what was written under Roberta. In fact, that was the post that made me want to do my post. The Roberta post is not mine, mine is Roberta Gonzalez. Thank-you for reading mine, and knowing I’m not that other person!!
Brenda
So happy to see this precious lafy getting some time off.

Thank you for letting us know how she is doing. Zenyatta looks gorgeous as usual!

Everybody realizes that picture is from 2016, yes?

Dear Z13Rulz:
Do you mean the photos of Z in this recent Blog post are from 2016? If so, no I did not realize that. I am confused as to why photos from 2016 were posted and not present day photos. Please, provide your thoughts. Love and Hugs, JB

Thanks Team Z for the update on Zenny. She is such a big girl, and a wonderful idea to just allow her body to heal. Haha, she will like not carrying around all that extra weight for a change, romping around the paddock and rolling in the mud! Looking forward to more photos too! Happy Memorial Day weekend!
Z Fan
Well wishes to Z ….. May she have a restful year . It’s nice to know she’ll be allowed to rest . Thanks for the updates

Dear Z13Rulz:
I did see the caption under this photo on this Blog post is dated April 2016. But, I’m curious about the three photos from the Blog post entitled Zenyatta’s 2018 Pregnancy, dated May 11th. Those are up to date, aren’t they? Love and Hugs, JB
Z13rulz
The ones on the previous blog are recent. It’s the headshot with this post that is from 2016

Dear Z13Rulz:
Thank you. All clear now. Love and Hugs, JB

Thank-You Team Z for the update. I feel you are doing what is best for Zenyatta which is a break to get her back to good health, and able to have another foal if that is what is desired. She was getting quite heavy and will now be able to get back down to a proper weight. The fans that have been rude and bugging Lanes End are very ignorant and I pray they see the light and quit doing this.
I will wait and watch for updates on Z-17 and Ziconic , and am very thankful we get updates on Coz and that he is proving to be quite a nice show horse.
Take a well deserved rest Zenyatta and Team Z and we will all enjoy being a part of Zenyatta’s life and almost like Family with Team Z.
Brenda Springer
I applaud the decision to give Zenny some time off to recover, I’m sure that the sad experience of losing her foal affected her mentally and well as physically. Enjoy being “just a horse” Zenny.
Ray Lopez
So happy to hear Zenyatta is dong good. I am so glad she will not be bred this year.
Looking forward to hear more about her in the future .
Thank you.

Dear. Judy. Now I saw your posts further down the page about the photo.Did you hear Coolmore have bought the breeding rights to Justify for ‘around $60 million’.A very dull day here after our lovely sunshine.A crowd funding page has raised nearly $70,000 for Graham and Subbie.Subbie went to visit him he has been back in hospital with an infection. The cancer has spread to his ribs and spine.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX

Dear Sheena:
OMG, they wasted no time securing the rights to Justy. Hope he stands at their Ashford Stud in KY. Prayers for Graham. Goodnight. Love and Hugs, JB, LM and all the Sweeties
Max
Coolmore also bought the Green Monkey, at the time at the highest price ever paid for a horse in a bidding war. Look how that turned out. Somehow the racing gods often show no respect at all for prices paid by humans when they bestow the gift of good fortune on a horse. Breeding is particularly magic. It cannot be guaranteed.
sheena.davies(wales)
Winstar have said there have been numerous inquires about Justify but nothing has been finalised. They want to concentrate on the Belmont first. At one end of the scale millions are spent on horses yet at the other end they are saved from slaughter for a few hundred $$$.
Max
News of the deal or no deal on Justify.

Dear Max and Sheena:
Too bad Justy most likely won’t race as a four year old. Especially if he wins the TC. Love this boy and it would be great to see him race on after this year. He’s accomplished so much already and never even raced at two. I think he would have a stellar campaign at four. Hope he wins the Belmont. Rooting for him and Mikey. I love this gorgeous Chestnut boy so much.
Max, in answer to your post on Biscuit going to Japan. You are quite right. Sadly these Beauties give all they have and are too often not rewarded in kind. May St. Francis protect our beloved Biscuit. Love and Hugs, JB
Ann NC
Watch over these precious and very talented boys, St. Francis.
Good luck, Biscuits.

I would NEVER call LE’s about Z or her babies. I’d call them to make a reservation for a tour like I did in 2015. And NO, Z was NOT part of the tour. You get to see the stallion complex. But me…I leave well enough alone.
Zenyatta.com is the place to go for ANY news related to Z.
For those interested Cozmic One has been retired off the track. He is happily retraining for the RRP program with a young lady Isabela Sousa. Look for Sousa Stables in Kentucky. Her dad has done several wonderful videos of Coz. We happily see him slowing down, learning to trot, canter and to even jump low jumps! He’s doing wonderfully!

Wonderful to see Zenyatta looking healthy and happy in her paddock — beautiful as always.

Oh Team Z, thank God you’re doing this for her.
She looks much better now.
love you Zenyatta, big hugs Ingrid.

❤️❤️❤️ Love you, Zenyatta! ❤️❤️❤️

I would never even think of contacting the stables directly, they have alot to do and they have been doing a tremendous job of letting fans know what is going on when the time is right. I love Zenyatta so much, she did such a tremendous act of dancing every time she raced and then some, bringing more fans to racing and now showing off her babies. She is such a sweetheart. Take a rest Miss Zen, you deserve it. Love you.
Marshall (NC Broad)
I am very sorry to hear that calls have been made to Lane’s End for information about Z. This is inexcusable and inconsiderate. Please, whoever you are, stop being so presumptuous; be content (and grateful) that news of Z can be found on this wonderful blog. It is truly a gift which should not be taken for granted or abused, but treasured.
Apologies to LE, Team Z and all who care for Zenyatta. We appreciate all you do.
So happy to hear that Z is doing so well and has a new friend to spend time with. Enjoy your pasture days, beautiful girl! We love you so much.
