Happy Tuesday!
Zenyatta’s youngest boy was weaned last week, and it all went very well. Alys sent us some photos before and after, and as you can see the boys are quite large and independent at this time. Z is happy to be back with her old friend Life Is Sweet and they definitely seem to share a bond. We’ll have more photos to share with you soon.

Old friends! New beginnings!
Glad to see Zenny reunited with her girlfriend Life Is Sweet! I bet they have a lot of catching up to do!.
And 13Z, starting a new phase of his life, with his new buddies! Life is good!
They all looks fabulous…
Sue Fredrick Happy as a lark
Thank you Alys and team for these wonderful pictures and this great news. Our beautiful Red has his big boy pants on!! He looks magnificent and more than ready to be on his own……and from the expression on Zen’s face in the top pic she looks ready for some peace and quiet. What female doesn’t enjoy some girl time catching up the latest news. She looks extremely content and happy……kudos to LE and staff.
Red is going to have a ball for the next couple of months chasing and rough housing with his friends……mama will be a fading memory as it should be.
Now we wait for news of COZ’s first road trip and the beginning of his new life. I sure hope somehow we will be kept up through pictures and videos of all his new adventures even though I know it’s a lot to ask of the Mosses. Thank you all for sharing them with us.
Kisses on my Zenny’s nose, same to COZ and Red and to LIS too. Auntie Sue

They both seem to be taking it well. That’s always good.

I still think that Red Fuzzy Tail is built a lot like Curlin. If you look at photos of Curlin at that age, they do look a lot alike. Curlin was and is, a big stocky guy. Think Little Red will be much bigger than Tapit.

Dear Shirlee:
Think you’re right. He’s going to be a big boy. Hugs, JB
Kim W
Hmm. Can’t say I agree with the Curlin comparison. Curlin was kind of a hot mess at this age. While it just goes to show that you can’t judge them for sure based on what they look like at this age, Z13 from a conformation standpoint, appears far more correct and impressive at this point. And again, you just never know either way.

Dear Bluegrass Girl.
Hey, I had to go in and check on all Leroi’s youngsters in the sale. The little filly that I just love has not showed up anywhere yet. Think I dodged a Bullet. So want Hallmark to keep her. I’ll find out if she’s still in Florida when I go down in a month or so. So hoping she’s still there.

Hard to believe that it’s 12 years since that terrible day but we can never forget the bravery as well as the sadness.
Vic and I are going to Woodbine on Sunday to see Wise Dan and Vic plans to make a JAG style poster to take with us to cheer him on. Hopefully the weather will be better than it was on the day that I saw Secretariat run his last race, it can’t be as cold, wet and foggy on Sunday as it was on the day that Big Red came pounding down the stretch with no other horse in sight. I just wish that Ron Turcotte could have had the honor of riding him in his last, and only Canadian, race.
The racing is winding down here at the Fort Erie track and some of the horses are starting to arrive at the barn where Vic spends her time, me too, so there will be more horses on the property. Tomorrow I will be getting my lesson on safe hoof care so that I can help Vic with her daily barn chores. I really enjoy going into the barn each morning and hearing the horses call to us when they hear our voices – too bad that I waited so long to get hands on instead of just watching them from the stands or on TV..

Sally Blank (cherish Z for my lifetime)
Oh wow, was I surprised to find this wonderful new news! Thank you so much Alys!
It is remarkable to see 13z having fun with his friends fter being weaned. I am sure there were moments when he wanted Z, but you at Lanes End know when it is time and gave 13z his friends. Zenyatta, who I cherish and hope to kiss one day, is such a wonderful mama and I suppose she may be glad of a bit of relief from such a growing youngster. (I can not relate it to us humans because I know it is not, but in some ways I could just cry) Mama Z puts in a lot of work for her siblings and I wish for her only the best brightest future for them; to be no.1)
The life of a racing thoroughbred can be grueling. Once they are trained for a race they have something very important to prove; their self worth. They either are or they are not. That to me is the only thing that bothers me about racing. These horses that were so sought after need to have a happy place to be if they do not turn out to be the winners, to be at stud or to be a receiving mare, and if not then where?

I am certain I spoke of Tinker the mini horse being there. A gorgeous most well trained quarter horse from Ute ( a german women with vast experience with horse and training, will have her horse there; Sarge). I have met him this past winter in her arena and led him around as Ute was teaching. He has to be so well trained if I was leading him around! ha ha Of course our special horses will be presented! Love the pictures and thanks so much for keeping us up on COZ and sweet Z13. The pictures are all so very beautiful and it means so much to be able to follow Zenyatta and her two very beautiful sons. This all has been an amazing trip. I still think of Zenyatta every day and will always remember what an amazing and Beautiful Girl she is. she has a almost human personality with a huge loving heart. I must say that I do believe that her sons will be much like her. I do hope we will be seeing COZ from time to time, he looks so much like our dear Z. Thanks to the Moss’s for all you have done to keep us informed and also how much you have done foe Zenyatta and her two boys to keep them in such good care. God Bless You Both.
