Dear Kathy. A very blessed Sabbath to you and the nurses.Bob Baffert is thinking of sending a runner over for RA.He has fallen in love with England after his 1st visit and all our history. He said it was cold he obviously hasn’t visited during our summers!!!Hope you are healing well and the nurses are on duty. Now I am getting to visit the furbabies
Love and hugs to you.Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO
I hope to visit England one day before I leave this world. Who knows??? I’m healing slowly but surely. Couldn’t ask for better nurses. Hugs, Kathy XOXO
Dear Sheena,
My only trip off this continent, except for a Caribbean cruise, was to London in 1988. I am a “dyed in the wool” Anglophile so I understand Mr. Baffert’s feelings about England. A dear friend and I enjoyed tours to Windsor, Hampton Court and the Cotswolds — Stow-on-the-Wold where we had tea. Our tour guide quoted someone with: “Stow-on-the-Wold, where the wind blows cold”. It is quite picturesque, a lovely place and not cold then.
Hope to return one day before I am too old. I want to see Wales and Scotland — Cornwall, Ireland, too — in short, lots of places in the UK. We were there in the fall, and it was beautiful.
Dear Marshall. That’s great you were able to visit England and especially the Cotswolds a beautiful part of the world.I hope that you can get to Wales one day.As we say”you’ll have a welcome in the hillsides”Hope Bailey and Smudge are keeping you busy!Love and hugs Sheena
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Sheena,
Bailey and Smudge are definitely keeping me busy. We take a walk everyday when it isn’t raining. Since the store where I worked for 21 years was sold, they are helping me avoid becoming a total “slug”. The owner (my boss) sold the property, and the building has been demolished to be redeveloped into an auto parts store. I do want to find a part-time job eventually; however, I think I am still in transition from mourning the loss to moving on. It was a great place to work, and the owners are great friends of mine, too.
What a lovely saying about being welcome in the hillsides! I think there is a connection in my family (maternal grandfather’s side) to Wales and Scotland. Mama’s maiden name was Coleman, but it would be way back in the 17th-18th centuries. I certainly want to visit the UK before too many more years pass.
Hugs and Love

Dear Judy B., Sandy and Kathy,
That would be such fun for sure!
Maybe we should ponder the possibilities. Food for thought.
Claiborne Farm and Ms. Dilschneider nominated 3 for the TC. Attraction by Blame, Commend by War Front and Deserved by Flatter. Haven’t really seen much about these 3 so don’t really expect to see one in the Derby. Not really fond of that point system!
Dear Zenyatta, guess what i’m starting to do? Please need your “Good Luck” wishes. I am going to email our Georgia House representative from our area in Georgia. I told you about a large group here in the state want to build a Large Horse Racing Venue and Z on the scale of the Falcon and Braves Stadium. I saw a picture of it and its a wow. The girl that I am going to email I use to work with her so maybe it will be easy to talk to her. Well, anyway I am going to sure show her my support for it. A bill is on the Ga General Assembly to consider. Zenyatta it is going to be a multi use venue, so maybe that will help. I don’t think they have decided exactly where it will be built.
Zenyatta sure would like to see the horses come to Georgia

When I see you unexpectedly, it is like having the sun break through heavy clouds to throw gold everywhere. Your welcome smile is like a great big sunflower smiling back the sun. It gives my heart a needed lift.
Never think for a moment that I do not notice your brightness as you come into view. How warm and sweet and sunny you make the world for everyone! My words are a warm hug for you from everyone. Take it, and keep on lifting hearts with your smile.
It seemed as though the flowers were staring at me, and I wanted to ask, “Who made you?”

Dear Kathy.Such a lovely devotional to start the new month where did January go???A month today the Dyfi reopens and we will wait the return of our favourite ospreys. The UK is in mourning for Sir Terry Wogan a legendary broadcaster full of Irish wit and charm. He was a fan of racing and had a horse named after him.I remember “Dallas” was rather a flop when it began over here in the late 70’s until he started to chat about it!!
Trump and Clinton beware Mr Fibbs is running for president! The Doughnutcratic party and he has his special abvisors Milo and Wimbley I love the fact if fings go wrong everyone will take time off and have a snack.Nay is away from home this week and both Judy and Michelle cannot cook so Mango is afraid they will starve and they’ve bought a coach so they can travel now together even the bird brudder.Lovely pic of buddy and Blue.Still no news from Fubu has the snow cleared from West Virginia yet? we are due another storm tonight called Henry 90mph winds in Scotland tonight Very
unsettled weather this week. The winner is announced on Zoe’s page today.Djakadam has arrived back in Ireland and is fine.He will go straight to the festival only 6 weeks to go and Dodging Bullets is on his way back after injury.Remember to turtle-turtle.love and hugs to you, kisses for the devoted nurses Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO.did you see the post where I told you about Diesel posthumously winning the Dicken medal?
Hard to believe January is gone. And February is always a flash in the pan since it’s so much shorter. The ospreys will be back before we know it! That’s funny a broadcaster in the UK would have talked about “Dallas.” I remember everyone wondered who shot J.R. way back when. I think Fibbs might be the best option for president! In Nay’s absence there’s always restaurant take-out and fast food for an option. I can just picture them all traveling together in the coach. Kind of like Steve, me and the 3 nurses! I wonder what’s going on with Kimberly and Fubu. I’m not sure what the weather is in West Virginia. I hope they stay safe over in Scotland. 90 mph winds is pretty severe! Best of luck to the winner on Zoe’s contest. I held off on making my donation in memory of Oliver so everyone would have a better chance. Mailed my check today. That’s good Dakadam is back and is fine. Best wishes for Dodging Bullets! That was wonderful that Diesel won the Dicken medal posthumously. I will do lots of turtling today. The nurses are still taking care of me. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO
Istabraq is today mourning the death of his special friend Risk of Thunder aka Risky. He died yesterday at JP’s stud in Martinstown aged 27yrs from a heart attack.Thinking of you Isty.Hugs Sheena.RIP Risky.
This is very distressing news. I worry for Istabraq losing his long time companion. This has to be difficult for him. One hopes that some lovely McManus mares will take up the challenge and befriend Istabraq.
Dear Max.So sad for Istabraq they had been companions for about 14yrs.Risky ran in the colours of Sean Connery and loved XC.I remember him saying he wasn’t too keen on Binocular moving in and taking his apples.Captain Chris has been retired too .I left a message on Istabraq’sFB he has changed his cover photo to one of them together.Sheena
Max
Ista looks really well. The photo of him with Risky on Facebook is a heartbreaker. That is true friendship. I’m still hoping that the mares step up and look out for him.
Excellent video by Duncan Taylor on Taylor Made Stallions history &
Chrome pedigree which includes Numbered Account
Be sure to read article below the video http://www.thechampisback.com/pedigree.html
The Genetics of ‘Chrome’ (opening paragraph from article)
California Chrome’s dam, Love the Chase, is line bred 3 X 3 to Numbered Account, one of the best 2-year-old fillies in the history of the breed (View Love the Chase’s five-cross pedigree here). A winner in eight of ten starts as a 2-year-old, one of her only two losses came in the Adirondack Stakes at Saratoga just twelve days after capturing the Schuylerville Stakes off a three-month layoff.
From article
California Chrome has similar breeding through undefeated Triple Crown winner Seattle Slew on the top side of his pedigree. Seattle Slew’s dam, My Charmer, is line bred to La Troienne 5 X 5 through Baby League, the fourth dam of Numbered Account (View My Charmer’s five-cross pedigree here). All together California Chrome has 7 strains of America’s greatest producer La Troienne
Thank you Bluegrass; I have a very hard time following pedigrees but CC has definitely a good one. Some times one can just pick them out I think when you look at them or am I wrong? hugs, Sally B
BGG,
He is just a totally different horse than last year both in looks and attitude. He seems to be a happy healthy horse. Could be The Great American Hope in the Dubai Classic.
Dear BGG,
Looks like he was just ‘letting it loose’. Think it must be wonderful for him to just ‘run like the wind after all his shuttling around on airplanes. Thanks for the link.

Dear Judy. Some interesting news about Zenyatta’s brother.Musketeer was rejected and he is now known as De Coronado.Named after a Spanish conquistador.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT Cap Hercules Frank Bentley and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX
Oh, dear, not crazy about that one either. Was so hoping for some connection to Z or Street Cry in his name. Well, most importantly, safe and sound always. Love and Hugs, JB
Dear Judy.Prince Fluffy Kazeem has had another 3000 likes!Marte says she understands people find it upsetting when they visit but must realise that outside the western world animals especially horses work.Their owners are very poor and just cannot afford vets care. They also rescue cats and dogs. She has a cat living with her who was dumped by her door.Love and hugs Sheena
I do find it very upsetting to view the photos. I saw first hand, Willow, a TB mare that Angela rescued from a New Holland Auction kill pen in PA in 2013. She was in dreadful shape. She was born in 1999. She raced from 2002 to 2004. Then she was a broodmare and had at least one foal that we know of. Once she was deemed no longer useful, she was dumped at the kill pen and surely on her way to slaughter when Angela found her on the Internet. She’s 17 years old now and enjoying life on the farm.
God Bless all the people who save them and my heart breaks for the ones that don’t make it and for the people, due to illness or whatever consequences in life, find themselves unable to care for them. Especially older folks who truly love their pets. My prayer is to live long and well enough to make sure I can care for my little Lola until her time on earth is through.
Sadly, a lot of these horses, dogs, cats and other animals who need rescuing are truly the innocent victims of neglect and abuse. Love and Hugs, JB, LM, PC, HT, Cap, Herc, Frank, Bentley and all the Sweeties
I have your most beautiful big picture with your first foal Coz now above my bed Zenyatta! I saved to get it beautifully framed.
I really pray now that you do not get too big with your new foal you are carrying.
You are my love and my lifetime horse and you need to have an easy delivery.
Will this be a filly? I know you will love and take care with either, but I wish a filly for you to continue with your breeding as years pass by. You are the most remarkable mare: God bless!
Auntie Sally B
Dear Sally,
Wonderful prayer requests you have! Share them. Whomever Zenny has – filly or colt – I know we’ll all be so excited. Won’t be too long before we’ll all be wearing our pacing sneakers or boots. Zenny ‘is’ truly the MRM (Most Remarkable Mare)! Love that phrase you came up with. Hope you have a wonderful evening.

I found this video on Lane’s End Facebook page. It’s a colt by Frankel out of India (Hennessy). Hewas consigned by Lane’s End and was RNA (reserve not attained $275K) at the 2015 Sept. Keeneland Yearling Sale. Can’t believe he didn’t meet reserve. His name is Frankly Speaking. What a gorgeous boy. His Equibase Chart does not list an owner. He was bred by Summer Wind Farm. Love and Hugs, JB
Dear Judy.I just cannot understand this stunning horse didn’t meet his reserve! If only I could win the lottery! My dream would be to open an animal sanctuary and give them the love and care they ALL deserve.Love and hugs Sheena.
Dear Judy, Sheena and Kathy,
He’s stunningly beautiful! Wish we could all chip in an get him. Know this is not how things are done, but it would be interesting to see what a foal from Zenny and him would look like and run. He truly is one of the most beautiful colts I’ve seen. with love, Elizabeth
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Kathy, Sheena and Elizabeth:
He is absolutely stunning, as you say. Can’t believe he didn’t meet his reserve either. I wonder if he’s back with the breeder and will be put up for sale again. We have his name, so I’ll keep on checking his Equibase chart to see if they list an owner and I’ll let you all know.
I’m afraid it would take a lottery win to purchase him. His reserve was $275K. Love and Hugs, JB
Dear Judy B.,
Thanks for this link. What a gorgeous colt he is! Simply beautiful. Frankel, you have a fine son here. Good luck to him, and may he stay healthy and uninjured.
Watch those images you build in your mind. Though some of them can be quite beautiful, some may be dark and dire. We seem to be experts in building negative mental images. Or we can’t focus on anything. Something triggers a thought and we are off like a hound chasing something in the deep woods. Then another thought comes along and we chase that for awhile. If we’re not like a hound, we’re sometimes like a fish-over and over we jump out of the stream to catch an elusive insect. We never catch it, but we keep on trying no matter what.
Try to keep your thoughts focused on things that are worth focusing on! important thoughts are worth returning to again and again, because on some deep level, they feed our spirits. As Thoreau put it, “Know your own bone, gnaw at it, bury it, unearth it again.”
We are like fish in the water, we jump at whatever is thrown.

Dear Kathy.Great devotional as always.Mr Fibbs did well in the Iowa cactus!!Trump not so.President Fibbs has a certain ring to it I think.MoMo won on Zoe’s page.Diane is so talented.Kauto’s rose will be launched at the Hampton Court palace flower show next year a white one shame I have no garden anymore.
The National stud has been closed as a precaution a maiden filly who arrived there on January 20th has shown signs of a neurological herpes virus. The breeding season begins on the 14th and they hope to reopen soon. One of Toronado’s first foals has arrived pic on Al Shaqab racing FB He is at the National stud.
I don’t often cry when humans die except family of course but there was a wonderful tribute to Sir Terry on the BBC last night and tears were rolling down my cheeks. He brought such joy into people’s lives and I have always been more of a radio person. He had a very happy life and that is to be celebrated.Still no news from Fubu last post was on January 21st.Hope you are still healing well.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO.Happy Groundhog day!
The ratties’ mom sure is creative! i like the sound of President Fibbs, too! I know the winners in Zoe’s raffle are thrilled. Diane is talented, indeed. How nice they’ve named a rose in Kauto’s honor! Gosh, I hope that filly will be okay. I will check out Toronado’s foal. I’m glad the tribute to Sir Terry was so touching. Sounds like a wonderful man. I can’t imagine what must be going on with Fubu. I’m still healing, all three nurses are still taking care of me. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

Keep Your Confidence No Matter What Happens
via Heart to Heart
by Holley Gerth
There is nothing you will face this week that’s bigger than your God. No problem. No struggle. No opposition. He can’t be defeated and therefore you can’t be defeated either.
Yes, there may be some battles. You may even be wounded. But you will not be overcome.
Hold tightly to your confidence and refuse to let anyone or anything take it from you. You’re stronger than you feel right now. And your God is even more powerful than you can imagine. With Him on your side, victory is sure.
Dear Sue,
Thanks so much for posting tonight. Needed to hear this message especially, as there have been a few inner-battles this week. Our God is an awesome God – He always sends messages we need. Pray God’s blessings for you and everyone here on Zenny’s home page. with love, Elizabeth
PS Thank you Zenny for the wonderful inspiration you are – you inspire us all, and keep us going on the road.
Zenny and your gal pals, hope you are put up in the barn and safe from all the bad storms that are headed your way. Be safe sweet girl and baby.
On another note. Stonestreet training center posted works today for Valentina-4 Furlongs 49:60 Breezing and Taco 3 Furlongs 49:60 Breezing. Think this is just the second work for her and his first.

February 1

Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Hard to believe January is gone.

Max
This is very distressing news. I worry for Istabraq losing his long time companion. This has to be difficult for him. One hopes that some lovely McManus mares will take up the challenge and befriend Istabraq.
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Max.So sad for Istabraq they had been companions for about 14yrs.Risky ran in the colours of Sean Connery and loved XC.I remember him saying he wasn’t too keen on Binocular moving in and taking his apples.Captain Chris has been retired too .I left a message on Istabraq’sFB he has changed his cover photo to one of them together.Sheena
Max
Ista looks really well. The photo of him with Risky on Facebook is a heartbreaker. That is true friendship. I’m still hoping that the mares step up and look out for him.

Bluegrass Girl

Dear BGG:
Another great find. Love learning about pedigrees and Mr. Taylor did a wonderful job explaining CC’s.
It was wonderful to see the photo of Kris S, Vertigineux’s Sire and Z’s Grand Sire too. Informative article as well. Thank you.

Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Sheena:
Sally B. (Auntie cherishes Z and her young)

Dear Sally,
Wonderful prayer requests you have! Share them. Whomever Zenny has – filly or colt – I know we’ll all be so excited. Won’t be too long before we’ll all be wearing our pacing sneakers or boots. Dear Sheena, Max and Z Fans:
I found this video on Lane’s End Facebook page. It’s a colt by Frankel out of India (Hennessy). Hewas consigned by Lane’s End and was RNA (reserve not attained $275K) at the 2015 Sept. Keeneland Yearling Sale. Can’t believe he didn’t meet reserve. His name is Frankly Speaking. What a gorgeous boy. His Equibase Chart does not list an owner. He was bred by Summer Wind Farm.

February 2 Cherokee Devotional

Dear Sheena,
The ratties’ mom sure is creative! i like the sound of President Fibbs, too!
