Dearest Zenyatta, I watched the show tonight and loved, loved, loved seeing you beautiful girl. You are forever a STAR and looked gorgeous as always. It was wonderful hearing all the accolades the “horseplayers” were giving you and seeing the replay of your Breeder’s Cup victory. They were expressing the emotions I know all of us would feel if we were there with you dear Zenny. Every time I see a picture of you with some of your visitors, I am so struck by the kindness you show everyone. People pour out their love to you and you sweetly give it back in return. How very wonderful you are!! What a cute baby bump you have. We can’t wait to welcome your new little one into the world, it won’t be long now. I always say a little pray that you are both safe and healthy. Say hello to Life is Sweet, she is always in our thoughts as well. Sweet dreams my love. Hugs, Dawn
Max
Sheena and Fly fans. He’s going to regroup and bite on! Happy day!
Just realized that the Fly is a UK horse. He’s owned by peeps from Northern Ireland. Go Fly!

You looked beautiful on TV last night. The guys were properly in awe of you and your greatness. So good to see you. Thanks to Team Z for the heads up about the program.
Ingrid Arnone
Shirleeinindy,
Yes she looked so beautiful, and happy I think she was waiting for her mints.
Hugs Ingrid.
Celeste_in_TX
Oh my goodness, Zenyatta looks so beautiful in her mudcaked coat!! She is truly getting a chance to enjoy just being a horse! Sorry to say I didn’t see this news note on the site until Thursday a.m. so it appears that I have missed the show on Wednesday evening. Thank goodness for HRTV replays and you-tube. That is where I will be looking for the episode with Zenny in it. One more time, thank you so much for continuing to share the life of our Queen with those of us who love her from afar. She lifts my heart!
Darlene Daniels
Good morning beautiful Zenyatta and Team Z.
I was lucky enough to get to see you on “Horseplayers” last night. You looked wonderful Zenny. It was a very nice episode.
Thank you Team Z for the heads up, otherwise, I, like many others, would have had no idea our beautiful girl was on the show. You are all the best.
Have a wonderful sunny day dear Zenny.
Love to all.

Good to know The Fly will continue racing; now they just need to Loose The Moose! Love and Hugs, JB
The Kennedys in San Diego
Thank you for the heads-up on last night’s Horseplayers. Wonderful that these veteran horseplayers were so in awe of Zenyatta and there to pay homage to The Queen. How beautiful, serene and regal she looked in her cameo. And the replay of her 2009 BC Classic — one never tires of watching it.
Terry Crow
Good to hear from the Kennedys. Always a class act.

Ditto what TC GP said. Love and Hugs, JB

Thank you, TC and JB, so kind of you. Was hoping to see you at The Big Cap, Terry.

I was/am on the shorts.

Dear Max.Mullins made a mistake,he should have entered Annie Power in the Champion Hurdle, got beaten by More Of That.Sadly, age has caught up with Big Buck’s, maybe retirement beckons now. AP chose the wrong Mcmanus horse again! Hugs Sheena
Max
Sheena. Horses always pull a surprise on us. Annie did well as no one was certain that she could get the distance. Coming in a close second is pretty good against males. Mullins was pleased with her. I am no longer interested in Ruby’s opinion.
Big Buck’s deserves a good retirement. He is an exceptional horse.
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Max.Big Buck’s just been retired.Thank goodness he has ended a remarkable career safe and sound.Happy retirement old boy!!Such wonderful memories.Hugs Sheena

@Judy–Sorry to hear your cable programming was rearranged. Do you, or anybody else out there, remember when the big selling point for cable was no commercials? Now it is worse than network TV. We all must be stupid or we are used to being ripped off. There is an outfit out here, Time Warner Cable, that has cornered the market on all local sports. Only a matter of time before the customers are charged for what used to be free.
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear TC GP:
I remember all the build up for cable TV very well. The pitch was, paying a small fee for TV service would eliminate the need for commercials. Even when you know, you never know. I do miss Horseplayers; I really did enjoy it; reminded me of “Let It Ride”. Love and Hugs, JB

Thanks, JB. Yes, another fine representative.
Looks like Zenny has been taking Carol’s advice and keeping her appointments at Club Mud.
Thanks Team Z for the photos and info about Z’s appearance on the show. Will check it out asap. My TV has been taken over by March Madness, rather it be you Z and March Mudness.
@Carol-will you be attending on Sat? Have fun and give us another report, thanks!
Love and hugs to all!
Love pats to, Annie Power. Sounds like she ran well, coming in 2nd and a length behind the winner. 3 miles…you Go Girl! MWAH.
Max
JudyB. Very impressive looking horse. Like his name too. Definitely Chess Club.
shirleeinindy
He sure is a beauty. Sometimes I have a question mark about the Tapits getting the 1-1/4 mile. The way others are dropping off the Derby Trail (Shared Belief just dropped out) who knows what will happen. Kinda like General A Rod because of Big D being the broodmare sire but still like several others. Good luck to all in the race.
Ingrid Arnone
DearJudy,
What a beautiful photo, he looks like our z13, same daddddd, ha, ha.
Hugs Ingrid.

Zenny continues to inspire thousands and remains our Queen of Hearts. She doesn’t have to set a hoof on the track to remain famous…congrats to her, the Mosses and all of Team Z who continue to share her life with millions.

We will be at Oaklawn all day Saturday ….hubby thinks he is going to win the truck and boat…duh…..
Darlene Daniels
Carol,
Hey, somebody has to win, might as well be your hubby. Good luck to both of you.

Dear Carol and Darlene:
Carol, would be so cool if your hubby did win. Hope he does. Love and Hugs, JB
shirleeinindy
Good luck to you and your hubby. You never know who might win. At least you will get to see some good horses and good racing.
Terry Crow
Carol-Ar least the old joke will not happen. Old joke–I drove to Vegas in a $25,000 Cadillac and came home in a $100,000 Greyhound.

Thanks Tiz. It’s an honor for the great mare and all who love her. Truly a great thing!

Zenny continues to inspire thousands who marvel at her consistancy (in all things), intelligence and heart. I am delighted so many continue to honor her. She continues to be The Queen of Hearts. God Bless her!

Interesting article, this is comparing the price of some Thoroughbred yearlings sold to the price of celebrity homes… I actually remember some of these!!

Dear Max. Sam has written a wonderful tribute to Big Buck’s on racing post,Ruby could learn a lot from that young man. Annie was on her toes before the race, maybe used up some nervous energy. She ran a good race just found one too good for her felt the 3 miles was a bit much for her.
I heard 2 horses died yesterday as well Arkdam and Stack the Deck wonder what Ruby had to say??he looked pretty miserable after the World Hurdle.Hugs Sheena BTW Sire de Grugy only cost £35,000 now he’s won £500,000!!
Max
Sheena. I heard about the deaths. I’m sort of in denial over it because it is hard to take.
Annie did not lose that race. I blame it all on a Ruby. Same for The Fly’s loss.
Ironic isn’t it that Annie got all of the press before Cheltenham, but it was Queen Quevega who returns to Ireland in triumph. Not certain but I think that she’s also a UK horse, as her owners may be a Northern Ireland syndicate of regular folk. Have to do some research on this. They may be working types, but she’s definitely a Queen.
Max
Sheena. The Hammer and Trowel Syndicate owns Quevega, or may be she owns them? They are not from Northern Ireland. One is a carpenter from County Kildare, the other is a bricklayer from Leitrim. Found an article which said that Q was to retire in March, 2013. As Mr. Ed would say, yeah right! I noticed that her groom at Cheltenham was wearing a tie and blue suit. Only the best for the little diva horse. Long may she reign.
Terry Crow
Max and Sheena-Your knowledge is impressive. Wish I knew more about European racing.
Max
TC. Quevega is a horse who goes against the conventional training wisdom that a horse runs best with practice. She only races once a year, and when she does she just grinds everyone else down in the dust and wins it. It’s really incredible. She can race over 2 to 3 miles, which is a feat in itself. Trainer says that she is as strong as an ox. She’s also a diva.
Terry Crow
Max-Most interesting. Goes against almost all of what I know about racing. But then, maybe I don’t know so much.

Dear Sheena:
RIP beautiful Arkdam and Stack The Deck. Love and Hugs, JB

I just hope the horseplayers realize what a special treat they received when they got to visit Queen Z!! So jealous!!
Linda in NJ
Hi Zenny
l was so excited last night to see you on TV, I didn’t take notice to the picture of you all full of mud. That is absolutely hilarious! I noticed your good friend Life is Sweet is all nice and clean.
I know what you are up to. You think you have everybody fooled, but not me. You like attention, so you figure if you roll around in the mud when they bring you in at night someone will have to brush you. You’ll love getting all that attention. Isn’t that right.
Take care Zenny.
Love you.
– Linda
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Max.Yes,indeed long may Queen Quevega reign! She just would not give up her crown. Have been watching a great documentary tonight about the immortal Arkle. The swagger in the parade ring, the way he always looked around to see if the crowd were watching him.He was magical and left us all wondering what more there could have been,he was barely 10 at the time of his accident. The Duchess always put his well-being first.Gold Cup tomorrow wonder who will win this year? Hugs Sheena
Max
Sheena. Mullins says that Quevega may be small, but she is as strong as an ox. She can race at any distance from 2 to over 3 miles. She snorts too when she’s racing. Might be to tell other horses to clear out of the way.
I read Sam’s words on Big Buck’s. Nicely done. He also spoke out on behalf of Moosie.
Free the Moose! Neigh!

Clearly the queen enjoys a good roll in the mud.

Judy, At least with his pedigree he will have a chance at a good life on one of the farms even if he doesn’t run well.
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Shirlee:
Yes, that’s true. According to Honor Code’s trainer, he came out of the race well so hopefully he’ll get another good Prep in before the Derby and will do better. I hope he is fully recovered and makes a Run For The Roses; unlike Top Billing who will miss the Derby due to an injury. Love and Hugs, JB
