Happy Friday!
It’s the time of year when kids go back to school and Ziconic is no exception. This week, he was among a group of yearlings that left Lane’s End to begin their training in Ocala, FL.
Ziconic has settled in at Mayberry Farm, where he’ll soon learn basics like how to carry a rider. We hear from Jeanne that he’s in Coz’s old stall at the end of the row, and he’s even made friends with Daisy the cat.
Last year we introduced you to Jeanne, April, and Jackie from Mayberry Farm and shared quite a bit about Coz’s early training. If you missed it and would like to read more before our next Ziconic update, start here and here.
Scroll down for more photos and a video of Ziconic’s departure from Lane’s End.
Enjoy!

Ziconic one looks beautiful. Thank you for sharing
Collette
I love the stride on him. What a walk !!! I’ll bet he is a runner. John Seriffs will have a barn full of Zenyatta babies before long. I like the younger two the best. Can’t wait to see Ziconic with the “baby fat” worked off and looking like a real racehorse.
Linda
Hope he has a very bright future. He is a gorgeous horse.
Cathi Sadocha
Ziconic, how stunning!
I can not believe your off to school already. You’re going to love being in Mom and Coz’s stall. Daisey sure is one lucky kitty to have you for a friend.
I have to admit, when I saw the trailer, I got a little teary eyed. The cute little Colt, is grown into a beautiful almost grown up Colt.
Ann, Jerry, I hope you realize how much you are giving to us, the fans. Your sharing Zenyatta’s life and her Foals mean so much to me. As a new TB racing fan, I learned that for some owners it is not just about the money, you have Great Love for them.
Thank you to Lands End also for what you give to us also.
Rebecca
Such a lovely young horse, shining like a new penny! I am so excited to see Zenny’s boys race. Thank you for the beautiful pictures
Patti
A beautiful boy. Wishing the very best for you Zi; can’t wait to get updates from FL. Love the photos of him. Time just flys; hard to believe he has left his first home. Moving onward to become the grand boy you are destined to become.
Linda Parker-Fedak
Almost teary eyed watching him leave. Sure is a stunning boy! Wishing him luck and safety during his new life. Healthy and happy also. Zenyatta has certainly produced exceptional babies! I live that the owners chose different stallions every time. I am wondering which stallion they think crossed best with Zenny? Thank you to these great owners for letting us all in on Zenyatta and her foals!
Shema Satya
I just love how we get to see videos of the young ones leaving the farm. thank you!
Marshall (NC Broad)
Awww! Ziconic is so stunningly beautiful and such a well-mannered young boy, too. He went into the trailer like a pro! I am glad that he had some buddies going on the trip, too, since he must enter a totally new barn now.
Best of Luck to you, Zi, as you begin your schooling. Godspeed and be happy! We love you and look forward to hearing about your progress.
Lots of Hugs
Thank you to the Mosses, LE, and Team Z for always keeping us in the loop!

Dear Ann, Jerry
Just wanted to say an extra from the Heart Thank you for all the love and care you give to the horses. I live close to Moody Air Force Base in South Georgia and I worked out at our branch back when it was the 347 F-l6 Fighter Wing. Well on one of their competions out in Las Vegas they won the Big competition. When they came home they spray painted on one of the long Buildings facing the front road as you enter the Base (It was Huge) BEST OF THE BEST
That’s what I think you are. Thank You, and love you all so much.

A new phase of life for our chubby bellied boy. Kinda sad, like graduation. I saw the white of his right eye as he was being led in. He must’ve been scared, at least a bit. Hope you love your new life, Z’s red-headed boy! Love you, your mom, your bro, and your sis!

General news:
Dear Zenyatta family.
Had the best news today (Saturday) from the vet: all General’s blood results are back, and he’s fine – no epilepsy or any other nasties. The vet has put the episode down to stress – as I explained earlier, think that was my fault for not being more aware of how anxious he was when I left him to visit little Thurzel. But the vet now tells me that if he ever has another similar event, we’ll put him straight onto the epilepsy medication. So many thanks to you all for your prayers and kind thoughts over the past week. I’m very grateful to you all. Hugs KathyR

Wonderful news, Kathy R. The best possible. We are all so relieved for you and General. Hugs to you both.

Dear Kathy R:
Great news. It’s good there is a plan should he have a recurrence. Hopefully, he’ll be fine. Love and Hugs, JB
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Kathy R.,
So glad that General’s labs were normal and that he seems to be doing well!
I know you are relieved. It is so hard when one of our babies is ailing.
Take care and give General a big hug and pat. Ditto for tiny Thurzel, too!
Hugs and love

We have power we have never used. But we live by sight and not by faith that anything could be different. The power to enliven ourselves waits to be used. It is the same power we used as children to see what we wanted rather than what we did not have. Inside every overweight body is a slim figure that waits to be free. Inside every person who claims to be broke is the need for quality and not quantity. Health and vigor are in the one who ails but something is trying to steal them. We cannot whip what we cannot recognize. Symptoms are not the problem. They are only evidence of it. The roots go deeper than surface remedies. The spirit knows but it is never consulted. The real of us is the spirit, but it has been over-ruled by the physical and mental.
Day and night cannot dwell together.

Talk about looking like royalty…Zi has it in spades! Best of luck to you, dear prince, as you begin a new chapter in your life. Zenny, thank you for the “gifts” of these offspring
and Team Z, thank you for understanding our unquenchable thirst for all things Zenyatta!
Celeste_in_TX
Thank you for sharing the photos of Ziconic’s new beginning to his racing career! He seems to be taking it all in stride and behaving as well as could be expected from one colt so young. It is exciting to think of the adventures he will have as he learns to be a racehorse, to follow in the footsteps of Zenyatta and Coz, heading to Mayberry Farm. We know he will be in such capable, caring and talented hands and we will anxiously look forward to updates on his progress. It is so wonderful that Team Z continues to share her life and her offspring with us – it is such a beautiful gesture and so generous! Thank you so much!!!

Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Max and Mia sure are adorable dogs but I wonder if 5 poms might be a lot to handle! lol Mango is so precious with all her gifts. She is one pampered little girl. A sweetheart, indeed! I did see the video of the serviceman and his dog. I think the bond we share with our dogs is about the strongest on earth. I’ll bet that is a picture of what our reunion will be like when we cross the Rainbow Bridge and our dogs come to greet us. I work every other Saturday. I work all Mondays through Thursdays and then I alternate between Fridays and Saturdays. All Sunday off. What fun! Have a good day. Hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy.
