Ziconic will make his second start this Friday, March 25. He is entered in Race 4 at Santa Anita Park, a 1 1/16 mile maiden race. Mike Smith will be riding.
Post time is approximately 5:30 pm ET. We’ll be watching with Zenyatta from Lane’s End!

YES!!!!!! Her Mike is taking his rightful place as the Red Prince’s team mate! Zenny must be so happy. I’ll tell you what would make her even happier: if she gives Ziconic a new sibling on Saturday, and he equals or improves on his third place finish! It’s true that Mike wasn’t satisfied with his ride. However, it’s not his fault that she didn’t like the surface, didn’t like the dirt in her face, and didn’t like the lights. It’s not his fault that Quality Road stopped right in front of her. So maybe Mike shares some of the blame for her loss or maybe not, but it certainly isn’t his fault entirely.

Two turns for Ziconic! He was never bred to sprint. Still might have won that race if he hadn’t taken an early tour of the grandstand. I thought Gary Stevens gave him an excellent first out but Mike Smith is a part of the family. I’ll be surprised if he is so far back this out. Looking forward to watching him. Thank you for sharing these horses with us. Hoping all goes beautifully with Zenyatta’s foaling.
