Ziconic Entered at Santa Anita Friday

Happy Monday!

Ziconic will make his second start this Friday, March 25. He is entered in Race 4 at Santa Anita Park, a 1 1/16 mile maiden race. Mike Smith will be riding.

Post time is approximately 5:30 pm ET. We’ll be watching with Zenyatta from Lane’s End!

    You run your race Zic! I watched all of your mother’s races with my mom only because she knew how much I loved Zenyatta. I watched your first race with her while she was in the hospital. Very impressive. Regrettably my mother passed away yesterday on her very own birthday. I will be watching you and I know she will be too. Be safe.XXOO

      Beverly, my mom died in the hospital on her birthday as well. Your mom will surely be with Ziconic as he runs and beside you always. Keep your special memories and make new ones knowing she is always there with you

        I am so sorry about your mother’s passing. It is nice that she could share your love of Zenyatta and could watch Ziconic’s first race with you, also.       My condolences on your mother’s passing. Sounds like you had a wonderful and close relationship with her. I was very close to my mother as well. My mother passed in 2001. I miss her every day.

        The Danimal is one of the few horses who ever got a standing ovation at Woodbine. The newspapers referred to his visits as – “Wise Dan invades Canada.” Ziconic has that same look, the 100% cashmere coat and the will to win. He also checks out the stands like Dan. Kick butt, Ziconic.

    Wow–What a week—pacing and racing !!

    Darling Zi, you know just why you are here and what you need to do–you and Mike can make it all happen so just do your thing and set the juggernaut in motion. Fly like the wind,safely home to your first victory !!

    Zenny–Your mom and dad will help you through it all, as always. You are so loved and blessed. Hope you get to see your Red Prince make you proud.

    Zi i worry about your legs, in your video with Coz and mates in santa anita where all horses walk and are tired, your legs look more thin than legs of Coz and mates, Zi you are lower height than Coz and Zenny, Zi i worry about changing from muddy course in first race to dry hard in second race, i worry about 9f, Zi for some chance if will be need breeze 7th 8th and 9th furlong quietly like in mayberry farm, my wishes for race are like usually, may be one or two of them will be usefull for you, Zi breeze carefully, dont stumble in gate, dont breeze near left fence, rest first row near left fence for hind horses that have no free space in front of their noses, keep safe distance to forward hind horse and horses at left at right, dont change lead legs often, dont make quick lil turns on full gallop speed, increase and decrease speed very glidely, keep long wide free space in front of your nose all race and after finish for very glidely to decrease speed, Zi keep quiet mooving in turns, if you feel that you are tired or something is not well with health or legs, even lil, dont wait, glidely decrease speed

    It’s almost time. I’m sure your mind recognizes all the signs your foal is sending that he/she is almost ready to make an entrance.
    We are all waiting eagerly for you to deliver your precious bundle. It’s hard to be patient, but we know that you do everything so beautifully and he/she will arrive at the right moment.

    Dear Kathy.Late today I have been taking flowers to the gravesides of my parents and grandparents for Easter.Oh,the child still lives within me and will until the day I die.
    CC has a poor draw again 11 but they don’t seem too worried.I didn’t know William Buick was on Frosted.We are still reeling over the Brussels attacks.I am so grateful to live in a quiet rural town and we are still 96% British in Wales.I was amazed to see the female had returned to Lowes so early plus EJ has returned to Loch Garten.Come on boys!No news of Fubu or Dolly.I am very concerned about Fubu and Kimberly surely Brittany could post a message.There will be a lot of security for the thanksgiving service for Her Majesty at St Paul’s in June and there will be a parade.But the terrorists like to strike at the ordinary folk going about their daily lives.The ratties got to bisit Wisconsin and brought a lot ob cheese home with them.Have a great day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO

I must say, our loved ones would roll over in their graves if they knew about all this terrorism and depravity in general that we see today. Sorry for CC’s poor draw.     My deepest condolences on the loss of your Mom. Since I lost my Mom in 2011 I am now able to recall the wonderful times we had together instead of the pain and despair of her last few weeks. My Mom also watched our girls races and rejoiced with me.

    Dear Sheena
    What a beautiful picture of Anthony O’Rourke and Hurricane Fly!
    The care he gave the Fly as a foal was never forgotten, such a lovely bond and tender moment.
    The Fly’s groom at Willie’s ,Gail, was totally devoted and gave him the best of care in recent years. Hurricane Fly had a fantastic team all around him and I am delighted Willie and the owners were on the same page to retire him now to the home of his birth. I loved to see how the Fly was trotting at the parade with a few little bucks,so nice to see a horse retired so healthy and full of life. Happy Retirement champ!
