Ziconic, please stay safe and have fun today while you are running with your special genes flowing through your body. I will be watching and cheering. Just now, I have tears in my eyes for your lovely sister ZPrincess. I am so happy she was having fun in her last moments. I am so hoping your Mother, Our Dear Queen Zenyatta, has a healthy foal that is a lovely filly. I dearly love you and Coz, but it would be so wonderful to have a girl.
Love to ALL who love the ZFamily,
Mary in Boone
Susan Reierson
Ziconic finishes third and jock Gary Stevens said “he likes what he is doing”. A very nice start, good luck in the future Z…

I’ll be eagerly watching. No offense to Coz or her other foals to come, but Ziconic is my fav. With his breeding and Gary aboard-he can’t be beaten.
Best wishes for a safe trip and hopefully a big win.
Go Ziconic!!!!!

May the angels be with you and keep you safe. Ziconic, you can do it. You were born on your mother’s birthday and that gives you special blessings. Do your best and no matter what, we are praying for you.

Wishing for the best today! Regardless of outcome I give a bow to Steve Willard , Zenyatta’s strong, kind and skillful pilot every exercise day of her career, who passed away this week. Were there Eclipse awards for exercise riders, Steve would have earned one! A horseman’s horseman you were , Steve.

RIP, Steve! My favorite exercise rider.

Ziconic ran a terrific debut race. Lagged WAY behind early and closed fast for third, beaten about one length for first. He is great looking horse and here’s hopeing he cools out well and comes back sound. Did my heart good to see such a race from him.
The Kennedys in San Diego
Bravo, Ziconic! A commendable first time out. Loved the close so reminiscent of The Queen.
Terry Crow
Always good to hear from the Kennedys, a truly class act.
The Kennedys in San Diego
You are too kind, Terry. You are a gentleman and a scholar.

Bravo Ziconic!!!! Great first time out! Hope someone can post the race!

Wow. He has stuff! He was coming like a train at the end!
Boy they weren’t kidding though when they said he doesn’t break from the gate like a quarter horse. Also he didn’t even want to go into the gate – it’s very encouraging he managed to overcome his nerves and run so well!
Yay!
PS surprised AR didn’t place, he looks awesome, has speed & pedigree, hmmmm.
Fast Munny is a lovely critter though!
Whew. I gotta calm down:)
Lorie
Way to go Ziconic! I’ve always thought you resemble your mom but after watching you today there’s no doubt you’re zenyatta’s beautiful boy. Hugs and love from Maryland!
Mary in Boone, NC
Did you have fun, Ziconic?!?!? Relax and take deep breaths when getting loaded in the gate. If the race had been just a little bit longer, you would have won it!!!!!! Take care, dear one, Mary in Boone
Zowie Starr
Wow! Super race! Not bad at all for a first timer. If he learns the Zenyatta dance, look out ! Maybe needs just a tad more work on his timing. He didn’t seem to be tiring and appeared to have plenty of run left.
Denise in STL
Wow !! He is just like her!!! What a turn of foot!! Way to go Ziconic!!!
Linda B
Just saw Ziconic run at Santa Anita he came in an impressive third. He came from last just like mama.
He is going places. It was beautiful to watch.
Barbara Spencer
Congratulations to all! Ziconic was impressive in his first race!

Brenda Springer
Lots of cheers from Fort Erie, Good job Ziconic. Is he his mother’s boy???
Deb E.
I am so proud of my baby! He did great! Even his 3-times great granddaddy (You Know Who) didn’t get a third his first time out. From what I’ve been reading from race viewers, Gary Stevens waited a bit long to bring Zi up from behind, but once he was allowed to run he “took off like a rocket.” The commentator on TVG said, “He might be a chip off the old block.” I wonder if the result would have been different if Her Mike hadn’t been suspended and could have ridden Ziconic. Zi and Mike must have that special language going on between them by now, and for Zi to place in his first race with a different jockey shows that he is going to be the one to watch his next time out. LOVE YOU ZICONIC!!!!!!
Andeline
woohoo good boy! third place way to go Zi!

Stupendous Ziconic! Mama would be so pleased. Gary said he’d never been cheered for finishing third in a maiden special weight before. I know Steve was looking down and cheering him on.

What an exciting race he made it and that stretch run was like watching Zenyatta all over again!!
Loved Gary’s comments after the race. Even for a 3rd place finish, it sounds like Ziconic’s connections are all on cloud nine from the way he ran! What fun!!
Janet Newman
Gave me a coronary, but what a run and loved his gallop out. Here’s to more good things to come for Ziconic
