We’re a little late sharing this news, but we couldn’t leave you without photos of our filly’s first cupcake!

Zenyatta’s 2017 Medaglia d’Oro filly celebrated her birthday last week, and the staff at Lane’s End threw a party. Thank you, Lane’s End! Scroll down for more photos from Alys.

I am watching “Dark Horses” right now on NBCSN. Very interesting look at Claiborne Farms, Arthur Hancock, Sunday Silence and the duel with Claiborne’s Easy Goer. Beautiful Sunday Silence, the horse nobody wanted — Unbelievable!

The program started at 12AM and is an hour long. Tune in!

    Hugs and Love

Will be up at 4-4:30AM to see Prince Harry get hitched. He’s a red prince, too!

    Marshall,
Easy Goer was my love. He was a son of my beloved Alydar. I saw him a couple of times at Claiborne before he died. A beautiful chestnut who had Secretariat’s paddock.

Thanks for the telling us about the program Dark Horses. Will it be on again?

Blessings on all the red princes.

      Dear Marshall and Shirlee:

I loved Easy Goer too. One of my fondest memories is seeing him at Saratoga. Loved his Daddy, as you do Shirlee. Sunday Silence; what a legacy he’s left the sport.

I’v seen this film before. I hope they continue airing it. Need tissues though; very beautifully done. Claiborne is a very special place. Love and Hugs, JB

      Dear Shirlee,

Sorry I didn’t respond earlier. I don’t know if Dark Horses will be on again, but hope it will. I just happened to see a promo for it earlier on Friday while watching some of the races leading up to the Black-Eyed Susan and noted that it was to be on at midnight. Had to leave to go to a birthday celebration for an old friend so I didn’t get the word out sooner.

Don’t know if it would show up if you googled it.

        Dear Sheena and Judy,

Princess Charlotte and Prince George are certainly beautiful children — yes, very endearing. I think having the children in the wedding party was just perfect, too.
So glad the weather was lovely. Meghan was a beautiful bride, and her mother is a very pretty lady — the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

By the way, Bishop Curry was present at my confirmation several years ago. He gave a wonderfully animated sermon then, too! He was bishop of our diocese at that time. Very personable gentleman.

Hope the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have a long and happy life — all the best to them. The Queen looked lovely, as always, and I was happy to see Prince Phillip moving so well, too. The Duchess of Cambridge looked very nice (no surprise there) interacting with the little ones. Harry and William were quite handsome in their uniforms.

I was very disappointed with the TV coverage. Justify was the favorite and did deserve a lot of time on the telecast. But I wish they had covered the other horses more.

Agree with you. I would like to know more about the others. A win is a win, but it was not as convincing as his run in the Derby. We will see what 3 weeks brings forth with challengers. None of the New York horses were in Baltimore.

      Dear Shirlee and Max,

I would have liked a bit more about the other horses, also. Congrats to Justify and Mike for holding on to win though! Congrats to BB and all connections as well. That was some sloppy foggy race. Good Magic tried hard, but Bravazo and Tenfold did very well to get 2nd and 3rd. It was a tight bunch of four crossing that finish line.

It would be nice for Mike Smith if he and Justify can pull off a Triple Crown — I agree with Donna Z. that it couldn’t happen to a finer guy!

A big disappointment on the NBC coverage of the Preakness that they cut out before the trophy presentation.

I saw the presentation of the trophy on NBC along with comments by one of the winning owners that Justify was heading to Belmont, if all goes well. Also had comments from Baffert. Mike was there too. Justify left with his winning blanket. Looked tired but good.

It was a busy weekend. So glad to see Justify win. Fantastic weekend for me, too. My 2-year-old vizsla, Pepper, won her championship last year. On Sunday she completed the requirements and is now a GRAND Champion! I am so proud of my little girl. She wowed the judges at our breed club specialty show this weekend with 2 majors, big wins! I also showed my 12-year-old Lhasa Apso, Annie, in the veteran’s class at the breed specialty show and she strutted her stuff and won Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed both days! So exciting! Made the 3 days traveling to and from Vallejo from Sacramento well worth it!!!!

It was a fantastic weekend for me, too. My 2-year-old vizsla, Pepper, won her show championship last summer. I decided to go on with her and on Sunday, she completed the requirements and earned her GRAND Championship!! I am so proud of my little girl. I was showing her in the Vizsla Club of Northern California specialty shows. She earned a Judges Award of Merit at first show, no points but a prestigious win. Saturday she was awarded Select Bitch and earned a major, 3 points! Then on Sunday, she was awarded Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed (best female in the whole show!) and a 4-point major!!! She is now GRAND CHAMPION BROOKVIEW KIRALYI CAYENNE!! I had also entered a Lhasa Apso in her breed specialty shows. Annie is co-owned by me and a good friend. Annie is 12 years old and was entered in the veterans class. She is a beautiful girl, loves to show and strutted her stuff both days to win Best Opposite. Quite something for the old lady to defeat the younger dogs!! So it was a fantastic weekend, well worth the drive all 3 days from my home above Sacramento to Vallejo!!
