Zellda

It’s a Colt!

Dear Friends,

I’m so excited and could not wait to share the news with you! MY DEAR ZELLDA had a beautiful colt by JUSTIFY on April 19th at 6:10 pm. Per Todd, “he is chestnut in color, leggy and weighed in at 107 pounds.”

I’m delighted to let you know both Mom and Foal are doing very well. From all reports, Zellda is an excellent Mother!

I must say, I adore watching newborn foals running and playing outside with their Moms! They are TOO CUTE as they learn to romp about, stretch their bodies and discover the ‘exciting’ places their legs can take them. After a few hours of playtime, it seems like a light bulb goes on and they suddenly realize how ‘quickly’ they can travel to all parts of the paddock. Oh Zellda, have fun! Looks like he loves to run and play!

    Dear Marshall and Z Fans:

Just read couple of articles in BloodHorse I thought I’d share with you.

    First one:

    https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/280311/tampa-bay-downs-sees-minor-damage-from-hurricane-milton

Hope the same is true of Ocala Horse Farms.

Second article is regarding a Trace ability Initiative instituted by The Jockey Club. This is a wonderful step forward and a long time coming to try to keep track of horses that are no longer racing or working in other venues. If owners, trainers cooperate and record transfer certificates with The Jockey Club, it could save the lives of many horses who often end up in need of rescue in kill pens or transported to slaughter.

    Love and Hugs, JB

      Dear Judy,
Thanks for posting these articles. It is good to hear that Tampa Bay Downs sustained minor damage and that the 75 horses remaining at Ocala are in good shape allowing them to be turned out Thursday. Hope their property damage is minimal, too.
The Traceability Initiative instituted by The Jockey Club sounds great. This really could save equine lives — hoping all involved parties will cooperate fully with efficiency to achieve this goal.
      Hugs and Love ❤️

Correction: the 75 horses remaining at Ocala Breeder’s Sales (OBS)
are in good shape. The sale had been held a day ahead of the storm.
Hope the Ocala area farms experienced minor damage, too.

        HugZ 🥰

      Thanks for these links, Rebecca!
Wow, what a beautiful scene with Zenyatta and the autumnal foliage — she still takes my breath away!! Before FB shut me out, I saw a comment from Ziconic to Mama about fall being the best time. Hello to Zi and to friends that I recognized from this blog!!
Cozmic One looks great and happy in his new digs — what a wonderful place to be!

      Hugs and Love ❤️ 🐎 ❤️

Hello my dear sweet beautiful Zenyatta! Hello Zsters!
I have read interesting posts here and I thank you! OMG Nymue is a clone of momma Z!! I am thrilled!!
Its that time of year. I had COVID, that nasty virus recently and still tire by mid day. Or is it my age! ha
I hope all will take care of themselves.
Love you Zenyatta and all your beautiful foals
    Luv and kisses

      Dear Sally:

Hope you’re feeling better. I can relate to being tired. Falling asleep watching TV lately; something I’ve never done before. With me, it’s definitely old age.🤪🤪🤪

      Dear Sally B.,
Sorry you fell victim to COVID — glad to know you are on the mends.
Yes, age slows lots of things down — we don’t bounce back as quickly, but slow and steady is okay, too.
So good to hear from you❣️

    Dear Z,
Hope you are well and enjoying the beautiful fall. I was sorry to see October end, especially this year. Thank you, your wonderful team and LE for being here for us during these troubling times. When I am stressed, you are a calming presence — Z’s blog is still a lovely place for solace.
Always sending you best wishes and prayers for your wellbeing, sweetie. You are definitely still a treasured gift, and one that keeps on giving❣️
Enjoy the peace of your pasture and your companions. ❤️
    Hugs and Love Forever

I am absolutely thrilled to have found you. I’ve moved and had to change my name a bit but I’m still the same Martha Fosdick that used to post whenever possible. However, my user name is now Marigold. Did I understand correctly that Zellda’s boy has been named Shugs?

We have another Red Prince. Zellda looks wonderful and likes motherhood like her mom. With his pedigree, he sure is another royal prince. With Zenyatta as a grandma and Justify as a sire, this boy will have speed and stamina!
Good luck, good health to him and mom.
