    Thanks for remembering Russ. Our TC is reading Russ’s name again at Memorial Day Service this year. I know Russ is so grateful to him for including him in the ceremony.

    Congrats to Hermosa, Magical and Daddy, Galileo.

    Wishing Bobby1 a safe growing period; health and strength. So sorry for the little one that didn’t make it. RIP

      Thanks for posting about TC reading at the Memorial Day Service. I had been wondering if you had heard from him — worried about TC since we haven’t had a post from him in quite some time.

    Remembering my dad Richard, uncles Bil and Harry, who all served. Also my uncle Bob, my mother’s brother, who I never knew, killed at Kasserine Pass in North Africa, in WWII.

    You want us to buy merchandise but you won’t tell us what is going on with Queen Z! We come here for HER and what has happened to her? Is she in foal? Will she be bred this year? Is her health okay? What has happened to Ziconic? Rumor is that he is either shipped to Turkey or S. Korea or he is dead. Would be kind of you to at least let fans know.

    I ordered some note cards and it wouldn’t let me use the code LONGWEEKEND for free shipping. Said it wasn’t eligible. Had to pay $7 shipping. Wonder why? There was no other explanation.

This Memorial Day and the weekend has been an unusually thoughtful one this year (I may be getting older) but I am very thankful for all those who have died and sacrificed to give us the precious gift of freedom.     It was Sunday afternoon May 31st 1970.It fell to James Kavanagh to give Arkle his last injection.The great horse went down in his box and went to sleep .forever.As sometimes happens in loving human relationships Arkle’sold friend Meg did not long outlive him by the end of August she was buried beside him in their grassy grave.Those of us who saw Arkle will never forget him.No steeplechaser has come near his rating of 212in the 53yrs since we last this phenomenon.He was blessed with the best connections his owner Anne,Duchess of Westminster,his trainer Tom Dreaper and his jockey Pat Taaffe.He really loved life and his amazing abilities.I will always remember his personality.He lives on forever in our hearts and minds.RIP Arkle
    Long,Long may my heart with such memories be filled.
