Love those Yankees too. Do you remember Uncle Mo in his tux for the Eclipse awards? Loved his many disguises especially his sunglasses and moustache. He’s the one who named Johnny V, Uncle Johnny.

I also like the video of Mo enjoying his peppermints. He certainly did get very excited by food and the sight of Maria. She however had no time for him. Made me laugh. Did read that Mo grew more in his fourth year and has reached 17 hands. Apparently he is a pretty stunning looking horse now, but maybe not to the Awesome one.

TC. Not sure, but it might be the stout like Zenyatta. John once said that he tried giving her other beer, but she would only drink Guinness. I think that she also wanted only Fiji water. I have tons of that water for that reason.

This is what it looks like if you are riding as a jump jockey. From the farm of Willie Mullins, it’s his son Patrick. Horse on left is wearing a Christmas hat. Don’t think that he is The Fly. The Fly always wins.

Did you notice the different coloring of the coat on the horse on the left. They’ve trimmed his winter coat so that it is longer on different parts of the horse for his comfort when jumping. Saw a video once of how to do it with special clippers. Mullins always does that with his horses.

Willie obviously has a sense of humor and loves those horses by decking them out in hats, braids and special saddle cloths for Christmas. The guy never takes a day off because the horses are always in training or racing somewhere. He refers to them like people as “this fellow.” Calls the girls by their names.

    December 23 Cherokee Devotional

This is the time to talk kindly to ourselves. When time and tinsel begin to depress, some time alone is not a bad thing. And there’s nothing wrong with being alone. Who is better company than we are? Who is more important to our well-being? Never say it is not worth the trouble to celebrate alone. When we are good friends with ourselves, we are good for others. This is the time to wrap two gifts. Put time and thought into the selection and into the paper and ribbon. Then give one of them to someone who most likely will not have a gift-and save the other to open later. The Cherokees are a close-knit tribe, but every person knows it is important to enjoy a time of perfect solitude and celebration. We need to know that when we all come together we will have something to offer-ourselves.

I must give something that I really value-therefore I promise to give (myself) my body.

A special Merry Christmas to Zenyatta and her beautiful family, both human and equine. I know the joy of the season will be tempered by sadness this year and memories of what was and thoughts of what could have been. I hope that 2015 will bring Zennie, Coz, Zi, Grandma Ann, and Grandpa Jerry great happiness and comfort. A special blessing to both Cozmic One and Ziconic as they begin their racing careers. Those two are very handsome together or separately. I agree with you. From what I have read, Denman was very close to death. The fact that he recovered is testimony to the tender loving expert care that he received from the UK doctors and other medical personnel and his own grit and determination. It was some kind of miracle like Paynter.
It would be nice to see Moose find something to do, but maybe being a superstar horse is enough. His fans are increasing by him doing nothing. Give him his own a “reality” show. I’d watch it.

      Dear Sheena and Max:

Sheena, thanks for this. Two gorgeous boys. I was not aware that Denman was so ill last year. Another brave, miracle horse. Love and Hugs, JB

JudyB. From what I have read, Denman had surgery for a minor fetlock problem which then developed into an infection and a form of blood poisoning, which adversely affected his whole system. He was very ill. I think that it took four to six months for him to recover. They thought that he might die. He was a very lucky horse to get well again. His owner never gave up on him. It was a miracle like Paynter.

Moss also noted that 2010 Horse of the Year Zenyatta “Is doing very well. We didn’t breed her this year because she had gotten very heavy. She’s lost a lot of that weight, which she needed to do . . . Sometimes that weight can be hard on the legs and she’s such a big girl. We saw her just a week ago and she’s looking great.

“She’s going to be bred to War Front in the spring and Cozmic One (first foal, a 2-year-old colt by Bernardini trained by John Shirreffs) will run here at Santa Anita in a matter of days. Victor (Espinoza) worked him the other day and he’s ready.”

Moss also lamented the passing of Zenyatta’s weanling filly by War Front, who was euthanized following a paddock accident this past fall. “We suffered a great tragedy, but we’ve got Cozmic One and her second foal, Ziconic (by Tapit) is in training in Florida right now and we’re feeling pretty good about the prospects of those two.”

      Dear BGG:

Wonderful video. There does not appear to be any kind of wound on Kauto in the girth area as it looked in that photo the other day. Max was right; thankfully it was just a shadow or the lighting. He is soooo beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Love and Hugs, JB

Kauto looks incredibly fit. Just knew from observing even from afar that Laura and his owner take super care of Kauto. And the UK vets at those events are always strict and would not allow a horse in the competition ring with any kind of injury. Peeps should also remember that this was his first indoor event at night under lights. Altogether I thought that he performed well. Dressage is a second career for Kauto to give him something to do for enjoyment. The fans should try to enjoy it along with this wonderful champion. Rock on, Kauto.

Yep, also read Jerry’s comments about Z and Coz earlier today on SA website. Neat that they were just here in my home state checking on their “daughter”. Yes, she had gotten a little chubby as we all do later in life I’d noticed. Now their grandson will soon have his maiden race. He must be doing very well as some were a bit skeptical. Would like to hear from John on his readiness. Thank you Team Z on keeping this lovely site going another year. Merry Christmas to everyone!

It will soon get crazy around here so will wish all Zenyatta family and Zsters a very merry Christmas now. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday! Just the possibility that Cozmic One could soon be racing has my heart racing and butterflies taking off!

JudyB. Interesting that you found this photo. I recall that Mo once posted a cartoon of him, Stay Thirsty and Muchie cooling off in a swimming pool and having cocktail drinks in glasses with straws. Seems like those three are friends.
