Very exciting to see Coz’s progress toward the starting gate. Only time will tell.
I finally must ask. It’s driving me crazy. I’ve seen it so often here but don’t know what it means, and I’m sure I’m not alone. What do people mean when you say “free the moose?”

Dear Anne. The Moose is a Nigel Twiston-Davies trained jumper/flat racehorse in the UK who has a “habit” of refusing to take part in his races! The BHA banned him for 9 months earlier this year and Max,along with others me included believe he should be free to race again. His name is Mad Moose.Hugs Sheena.

Sheena. I would also suggest that Free the Moose is now the battle cry of all freedom loving peeps who fight relentlessly against incursions on hard won liberties by the beak.
Free the Moose! Let him run.

RIP Wigmore Hall a well travelled gelding who sustained a fatal injury at Doncaster this afternoon.Hugs Sheena.

Oh! dear Sheena, one more, RIP, Wigmore Hall!
Hugs Ingrid.

Very very upsetting news. Wigmore Hall won the Northern Dancer Stakes at Woodbine twice under Jamie Spencer. The last win in 2012 was bravely done. He won in heroic fashion over Al Khali. This horse could win anywhere. Distressed by this.
Janet Newman
Sheena,
This a sad day and such a loss for his connections.
RIP beautiful boy.

Another Monzante. Winless the last two years….should have been retired a long time ago.
Max
Janet. Yes, he was cherished by his peeps, and he was only 7. As a gelding, he had some more racing years to go. I will never forget that last Woodbine win. The only consolation in this sad event is that he died racing, which is what he loved to do. Trainer said that he was a fun horse and he will never be forgotten. RIP Wiggy.

Max
Sheena. I’ll throw in a gradruple wow. The gray horses are attacking everywhere and winning. This is really exciting. I agree unquestioningly with your analysis. Aussie could not lose. Young Joe is to blame. How did Al do?
Moose, you can be free! Beast, Snake and Dan, hope that you’ve had a good day with lots of horsey treats. You deserve them.

Sheena. WOW! Looks like GG was channelling Zenyatta. What a run! Moore was great too.

BLACK CAVIAR FOAL FILLY VIDEO–YouTube version of story
Channel 7 News Australia
Champion racehorse Black Caviar has become a mum,
giving birth to her first foal, a filly. Michael Felgate reports
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=saClubMJwEA&feature=youtu.be
Especially Horses / So Cal
What a precious filly. The entire Commonwealth of Australia adores her!
Janet Newman
She is adorable and Mama BC very attentive.
Just like our Queen Zenyatta, Black Caviar has taken to motherhood with ease.
LauraJ (Cincinnati)
Interesting–she foaled out-of-doors. We don’t see much of that in the TB world here.
Anyway, Princess 14BC is adorable.
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Laura J:
I noticed that too; unusual here. MMM was born in a pasture if I’m not mistaken and that was quite an adventure if you recall; as it was feared he was stillborn, until he got up and took off running. I read where the very same thing happened with another of Ponche de Leona’s foals. Love and Hugs, JB
Max
JudyB. Shirlee’s Muchie was born in June, when the weather is nice. Northern Dancer likewise arrived at the end of May. TBs in NA are ideally born as close to January 1 as possible. That means cold and snow in most places even into spring as we know only too well. Outdoor births could be too harsh, especially for the caregivers, and dangerous for the horses if anything went wrong. Better to be born in a stable. God chose a stable.
Free our Moosie from captivity. The three amigos, snooze time.
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Max:
Yes, that’s so true. The time of year for most NA foaling is definitely too cold for outdoor births; better in a stable for the horses and the caregivers. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Max.Al Kazeem was 5th NM was in the betting the other day but suppose they decided against travelling.I couldn’t believe the Gatsby was so far behind the rest he certainly did a “Zenyatta”I read some comments on RP and someone said AOB should give up the PR and let the horses do the talking,Sir Henry always did.Seeing Tapestry run today how on earth did she beat Taghrooda at York?I think Aidan will prefer to forget this meeting.Roger Varian is a lovely young man, very quiet and well-mannered.He had such faith in KH for the St Leger.Free the Moose and Let Marty out of jail!!Sheena.
Max
Sheena. Not that bad results for Al. That was a tough field and he’s still only just getting back to form. That was an incredible run by GG. I’ve always liked him. He’s really tenacious. The look on his face said it all. Like his Z shadow roll too. Still think that you are right about that ride. Aussie needs a new partner.
Tagi probably just had an off day. It can happen to the best, and she’s certainly the best.
I too would like to see interviews with Aussie and the other Ballydoyle horses. I have a very hard time following Aidan’s accent. Gives me a headache.
Varian was once interviewed about Frankel. He had very kind words for Cecil and expressed genuine admiration for Frankel. Sincere guy like Cecil and Shirrefffs.
Moose, see what GG did and follow in his hoof prints. Beast, keep that ankle under wraps. Snake and Danny, nearly time to hit the hay. Rat Marty, are you out of jail yet?

Sheena. Aussie should race another day. He’s not done yet. Maybe he’d like to ride with Frankie, not the emu.
GG was downright inspired today. Moore however says that GG has not yet received the praise that is his due. GG is a very handsome gray. Got to respect his determination. Moore said that if you give GG a target he will go after it. I’ll say.
Go Treve.

JudyB. Forgot to mention STM when Sheena told us about his injury. Sorry to hear this news as he was so promising. Goes to show how careful Cecil was with Frankel paid off because Frankel was a very sound horse while racing and retired healthy. Same for Z, very tough and healthy.
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Max:
Sent Sheena this article from the TDN on STM’s injury. Seems it is a recurrence of a problem he had earlier this year. Even BC didn’t escape an injury. Combination of strong bones, good genes and luck to get through racing without one. Frankel and Z, thankfully did just that. Love and Hugs, JB

Thanks so much for this article on Winter Memories and her photo with her foal! How appropriate that he was foaled during a snow storm given his mother’s name. That photo is absolutely first class — would be gorgeous if enlarged, framed and on the wall! I, too, am very fond of grey horses.

JudyB. Sue Magnier names the Ballydoyle horses. This JFK’s mother is Rumplestilskin. I cannot get over that name for a filly. He has the look of Danehill, who is the dam sire. Hope that he does well.

Dear Max.Dave has just arrived back in Downing Street.A cobra meeting tomorrow. They say another Briton will be next. It’s heartbreaking for the families involved.Hugs Sheena.
Max
Sheena. Dave was already getting nailed by his critics for partying at that Astor wedding while Britain may be falling apart. Frankly it looks doubtful that the yes side will win, so that you can sleep easy on that one. This other thing is a whole lot scarier story. Not certain what a cobra meeting is, but why call it that? Who trusts cobras?
Free the Moose! Beast and Dan, hope that you are dreaming of your next wins. Snake, you’re no cobra. Keep listening to Chad.

Dear Sheena:
Read you post about the latest atrocity to the British aid worker; may he Rest In Peace. As Max said, hope the President gets the help he needs to fight this madness. GG was very impressive and in Z style too. Wishing STM a full recovery and a return to racing. I guess there will be no Panda cup at Edinburgh. Maybe next year.
Went to the farm around 10:00 this AM and helped clean up the barn. My job was to wash down all the outside of the stalls and remove all the built up dirt and grime. I worked for about 3 and 1/2 hours and cleaned all but one row of stalls. Will finish up next Saturday. Everyone pitched in sweeping floors, mucking stalls and cleaning the tack area. The barn looks and smells much better. When I got home, I took a shower and proceeded to fall asleep. Woke up three hours later. The Old Gray Mare…………!

Meant to tell you, The Woodbine Mile is the race in Zentastic’s Capping Contest tomorrow.. With the absence of Danny, I chose a horse to Place called Lockout. He’s a five year old horse by Limehouse, foaled in KY and is trained by TT’s trainer, Mark Casse. Love and Hugs, JB

JudyB. How about Silver Freak? He’s got Deputy Minister bloodlines and Uncle Johnny aboard. Kaigun and Grand Arch are also real threats.
Let the Moose run. Beast, Dan and Snake. You better be asleep.

Oh yes, all contenders for sure. I went for a long shot. L’s morning line odds are 10 to 1 and the TT connection. Love and Hugs, JB

Got, Got no time, tonight to read but I think you all are so very special!
I thought Sir was doomed if he stayed at CV and felt happy in the beginning when he went back to his original owner, although I never wanted him to leave. Sir is doomed there too; she’s putting Sir down before winter!! It is a hopeless cause attempting for several of us volunteers to be able to pay his costs to live elsewhere. I see him in my vision every day!! Stressed and sad.
hugs, Sally B
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Sally, I’m sure going to pray for Sir. So hope they don’t put him down. Will pray hard for him.
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Sally:
Oh my God, I feel your pain. You know you did everything you possibly could for Sir; you love him and he knows it. You are an extraordinary lady. God Bless you and I know you and Sir will meet again. My prayers and my heartfelt thoughts for both of you. Love and Hugs, JB
Max
Sally. I am in shock at this turn of events. Somehow is there not someone who will take him under their care? Hoping the power of prayer will soften this woman’s heart and she will not do this.
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Sally B.,
This is so awfully unfair! Is there no rescue SOMEWHERE to come to Sir’s aid? I know he has some age on him, but he is healthy, right? This seems so unbelievably mean to me.
Would donations help? Surely, something can be done —- it should never end this way, never! When it is Sir’s time to go, it should come with love surrounding him, and NOT by heartless decree..
I feel so badly for you, Sir and his fans. Oh, what a wicked world!
God bless you and Sir. Hoping for a miracle, praying, too. I, for one, could contribute to a Save our Sir fund. Love and Hugs
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Marshall, Barb W, Max and Z Fans:
This is indeed most unfair and unreasonable on the part of the woman who has Sir and would end his life. From what Sally has told me, this woman is unapproachable. If there is any way she would consider sending Sir to another rescue, I would give whatever I can toward his transport there. I pray she will be willing to listen to reason for Sally’s sake and for Sir. Love and Hugs, JB
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Sally
I would donate whatever I can for Sir too.

I love you Z and your young,
Kisses, Auntie Sally B

Dear Barbara W. and Sally B.,
Thank you, Barbara!
@Sally B.
What will it take to pry Sir away from this woman who seems hellbent on his destruction? Personally, I think our Z’sters here could find a facility to come to the rescue.
Will money entice this person to let Sir be saved? Will she sell him?

September 14 Cherokee Devotional
If we all stop at once to pray for the children of this world, there would be change like none we have ever seen. So few children still have the right to be innocent. They are made to look like miniature adults, taught to act adult, and abused because of it. How tempted we are to sympathize and say that this is the way the world is, so what can we do? It lets us go on our way wishing things were different but doing nothing to make it so. Why? Because we have cut loose from our responsibility to a da to li s to di, pray. Where did we go wrong? We made children compete and gave them no inner-strength. We curled their hair and twisted their minds. We educated them but did not give them wisdom. But then, what can we do for them if we have not learned ourselves?
Are not women and children more timid than men?
