Happy Oaks / Derby Week to Everyone!
Wow! It is hard to believe that it is already May! The weather is a bit nicer here this morning. It is not too hot and the rain in Lexington has stopped for the moment. Everyone in town is hoping that the weather cooperates to make it a fun and fabulous week for all of our many visitors!
My Moss Pal, ZAZU, leaves CA very early in the morning on Tex Sutton’s plane and will land in Kentucky tomorrow around 10ish. I’m wishing her a nice, relaxing flight and a very successful Oaks week. The Moss’ and Dottie will be arriving late Tuesday. I am SO excited to be able to visit with them during the next several days. They did say they were going to spend LOTS of time with ME while they are in town. This is GREAT NEWS!
How about the 60 MINUTES program which aired last night! It is interesting that many people throughout the country were able to see the segment and commented about it to all of my TEAM. In California, the last part of it was interrupted due to BREAKING NEWS! John said that they were able to see it on-line…which is terrific! I know they MISS ME!
I think 60 Minutes did a wonderful job on MY update! It is so special that they were able to show me outside in the paddock with my dear friend, Pirates Queen. The portions on MY TEAM were adorable! Just in case, you did not get to see it last night or live in CA and the segment was interrupted, I’m including the 60 Minutes Link for you! They really did a wonderful job capturing so many special moments of MY LIFE!
Enjoy!

Goodnight Sweet “Z”,
Picturing you snuggled in your warm blanket and settled down for the evening. It was great fun to watch your interviews.
……………..
Ann in Indiana,
We hope your husband is feeling better. The “Z” cap is a great inspiration! Our family said a prayer for him. My husband will be going in as well for a biopsy for an arachnoid tumor in his brain. Many blessing to you and yours. Thank goodness we have a “Z” hat too :) Never would have thought of it…

It was so sweet to share your moment on the screen with my family. Love U Zenny!

That’s such a great photo of Mr. and Mrs. Shirreffs!! Terrific pic! I was able to catch up with the story ontheir website, and thoroughly loved watching it again! You looked as radiant as ever!! I can forgive the interruption, since the news was important. SO glad to hear you will be seeing your human mom and dad, Mr. and Mrs. Moss, and gret friend Mrs. Ingordo Shirreffs! I’m sure that will be very special for all of you! Any picks for the Derby or Oaks Zenyatta?? I’d love to know if there is a horse you favor in each race, I presume Zazu in the Oaks. Have a great week, Zenyatta and team!! XOXOXOXOXOXO

Zenny enjoyed watching the 60 Minutes segment. Had seen the original, but liked the update on you. I live on the east coast & was able to see it. I miss seeing you race but glad you are happy in your new life. What a great picture of John & Dottie- you are so lucky to have such wonderful people in your life. Enjoy the time you will be spending with your California family. Good luck to Zazu!! Hugs to all!!!!

Great posts today. Neigh-sayers gone. For those that missed the 60 minutes last evening, you can still watch it on-line. Even better, just the Zenyatta segment is available. How nice to share a personal photo. Thanks Team Zenyatta for the touch of class!
Jackie
Good Evening Queen “Z”, loved the 60 minute segment. Altough I had to watch it on line. I was so disappointed when the show was interrupted, but news that was so critical to The Great United States! As the President said God Bless The United States of America.
Wishing ZaZu a safe trip and all the best in the Kentucky Oaks. May you have a safe ride!
I am sure your CA family is looking forward to visiting you. I bet they will have lots of mints for the special girl.
Glad to hear the weather is better. Hopefully there will be good weather for the races this coming weekend.
Enjoy your family as I know they will enjoy their visit with you.
Hugs and Kisses

Good evening Zenyatta,
what a sweet pic of your buddies John & Dottie. And they are such a good looking pair. How fortunate you are to have them and all the others on your side, and of course all your fans, too. :) :) :)
Alright, so Zazu is gtting a chance at the Oaks, good luck to all their connections. Mr. Commons is not going to run in the derby, Mr. Shirreffs said, according to DRF.
Again, I truly enjoyed the Zenyatta Show on 60 Minutes, you looked sharp, then and now. Sleep tight, and sweet dreams of carrots & mints :) :) :)

Oh Zenyatta! Just so so nice to see you on 60 Minutes! Just got to know you better! YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!
Barbara
Wow! You two look great! Thank you for sharing with us and considering us friends. That is quite some camera ‘your’ John is holding, no wonder we get such good picks.
@ Ann in Indiana
Prayers for you and Morris as you weather this little storm.

Zenyata you are so special. I hadn’t seen the 60 minutes piece until I clicked on the link.
You can see the affection both Mike Smith and John Sheriffs have for her. Maybe she wasn’t ready for being a broodmare, and lost the foal when mated. I always say one should always place the horse first. But maybe she really prefers to be racing. She seems to enjoy it, and because she wasn’t ready at 3 to race, she is a late bloomer.
Hopefully she will live a long and happy life. But I have a feeling that she will never have a foal who’s as special as she. This kind of horse comes along only once or twice in a lifetime. And I have to agree with Mike Smith that no stallion is worthy of her. She’s the best. Hugs and cheers for you Zenyatta!
P.S. When will she be available to visit with her fans?
Theresa in LA
Outstanding photo! I hope it is enlarged and displayed in a prominent place in your home. What a happy couple. Thank you both for the happiness you have helped provide here for most of us.
@Ann in Indiana
praying for you and your hubby!

Forgot to mention I would love to hear an update on Ebblouissante. I hear she is there with John now. Would love to know if there are any similarities that he sees at this point between the two of you. She sure has the “look” with the big ears and holding her head up high to look out over things. Take care Big Z, Lori
Shari
Thank you John and Dottie for making this such a personal website. You both and your dear Zenyatta have shared with us aspects of your lives and we have shared with you ours. God bless you both!
For Ann in Indiana, I hope Morris is up and around and feeling much better soon. At least he has his Zenyatta Hat to help with the healing.

Saw the whole show…on the east coast! You were adorable of course! Love ya.
Marilyn Watson
60 Minutes was great although we got news break at the end here in California. Loved seeing you romping around the paddock just being a horse! Miss seeing you at the races, lots going on this week in racing that’s for sure. Be healthy and happy Z!
Aaron
Great picture. Have a super trip. So cool that you get to spend time with your Zenny in KY. Prayers that you all arrive back safe and sound without a hitch. Go Zazu!
KIMBERLY
Zenny you were FABULOUS on tv last night….I can’t wait to come and see you at Lane’s End!!!! ANY NEWS AS TO WHEN THAT WILL BE? ANY NEWS ON YOUR BOYFRIEND BERNIE????
livey
@Paula Higgins—Well said post (way up there). You’re right, to many, the interruption was incredibly important. And as far as the 60M segment goes, like others have commented, would have loved to see a little more footage of her at LE. Hopefully though with a Dottie and John visit soon, we’ll get just that. ;)
Ted
Hey Team Z! Thanks for letting us in on the neat aspects of your lives. You certainly do not have to, and we all appreciate the time and effort it takes for what you great people do. This website could just be blank with the same picture on it and no daily input. We are all busy people but this is a special site to check into now and then. Will be simulating at Santa Anita on Derby Day. Cheers and Good luck!
Ted
@ Ann
I hope your husband is feeling much better soon. I am sure the magic Z cap helps.
sg
@Wild Horses: That is exciting news, Ebblouissante being with John!!! Hopefully, John will be whipping out that video cam soon. Can’t wait to see her in action.
Sarah
@Sharon Call
That is what I’m hoping for too. Fingers crossed. :)

@TZ
Know one knows really if or when visits will ever happen. We may be resigned to holding on to her here. From what many experienced horse people have said on here, it doesn’t appear to be a common practice—visiting of broodmares.

@Ann and DJ..praying for both of your husbands.
Great picture of John and Dottie. Zenny you looked so happy last night. (even though I had to watch it on my laptop)…but seeing you and also finding out that a little less evil existed in the world, made for a great night.

@Kim. I am hoping Old Friend pulled it out. I have tried to find out more from their website and on FB, but no luck. I am sure someone here knows more. Anyone have an update? It was very easy to donate, I hope people were able to help out, if able.
They should have a great week of visitors, if the weather will just clear up a bit.
