Good Morning,
All is going well with MY PARTY plans. I am getting so excited. At this time, we have guests who will be attending from approximately 35 different states and Canada. This is so much FUN!
I know Dottie and Leonard are working quite hard on all of the specific details one needs to plan and organize for such an event. Yesterday, they were reviewing the timeframe with Amy (Video Production) as to when I will attend the party via live feed.
In the meantime, I’m getting to visit with special family friends. REAGAN came to see ME the other day for a ‘play date’. This baby thing is still so new to ME. It think she thought my coat was quite ‘soft’ when she touched ME.
TOO CUTE!
As I’ve mentioned before, MY BABY will be so much bigger than a human child. REAGAN is 6 months old. At this age, BABY Z / B will be at the stage of being weaned and weigh somewhere in the range of 400-500 ish pounds…per Bayer Equine Connection.com.*
“Foals are commonly weaned at 5 to 6 months of age.”*
Wow..this is interesting. I can only imagine that BABY B/Z and I will really be quite close for several months after his/her birth. I really like this idea. I hope to teach ‘MY DUMPLING’ some great things.
“Once a foal is no longer nursing, a 500-600 pound weanling should be eating approximately 2.5% of its body weight in feed and forage in a day.”*
This is also something to note. Foals grow quickly.
I love learning all of these new things. I truly want to be well-prepared to be a GREAT MOM!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~

It doesn’t look like I will be attending your party, Z. Ah well, best of luck, my dear :)

@my Z friends: I am in a small whirlwind of activity here, so I haven’t gotten to read your posts for a few days. I hope everyone is well and happy! On Saturday, Rootbeer’s new people came to get him. It was with mixed emotions that I watched him go, but mostly happy ones. His new family is very experienced with horses and has a very kind, patient way with them. Rootbeer seemed comfortable with them, so I couldn’t hope for a better home. He will be in a field with another young gelding for company. Rusty was upset at first, but now Cheyenne and Sass are in with him and Sass is a distraction, to say the least! I don’t know if this is Rusty’s reward or punishment! :)
Then on Sunday, we moved Chester and Chopper over to the new place. This is how tired I have been: I can’t remember if I’ve already posted about this! If so…sorry! Chester was very wound up and anxious about leaving. He GALLOPED around the new field and up and down the fence line, calling out. I would periodically put him back on a lead and walk him and calm him down and then let him go again. He eventually calmed down and cooled out. Chopper acted as if he had ALWAYS lived there! When I went out Monday morning, Chester was acting the same way! They seem so happy. The two children who live there love to pet and brush them and give them treats and the boys are eating it up, so to speak! They stand there with their eyes half-closed while these little hands rub and pat- it is too cute! (They don’t go in without their parents or me being there) Even their Lab and cat love the horses! I keep pinching myself! There are a few pictures on Chester and Friends FB page that I took yesterday.
Love to all-

P.S. I am also puzzled about Blind Luck.

Blind Luck will go through the ring as a racing or broodmare prospect. Interesting.

Well bummer I’m home sick. Right now I couldn’t visit even if the Mosses cleared me. Not sure that you can catch my cold but IT MOST DEFINITELY could affect your pregnancy. This is one of those times when its good not to share!
I hope your doing well. Sorry I’ll miss the Party. I guess things couldn’t be managed to share your party via the web even with a donation to a 501. Or maybe no one wanted to go that rout. Ah well.
Off to bed.

Dear Susan in Tn.:
Know you will miss Root Beer, but it’s wonderful that he has found a loving, caring owner. Hopefully, Rusty will enjoy being with Sass and Cheyenne. Sass is a little mischievous Sweetie and Rusty will have to be patient, but firm with him. So glad to hear that Chopper and Chester are loving their pasture and visits from the children. What a great thing you did for them. This is, no doubt, the first time in all their years that they have experienced this kind of care and love. God Bless. Hugs, JB

Hope you feel better soon. Hugs, JB

Dear Kennedy’s in San Diego:
Thanks for the link on BL, but this is a total shock to me. Why wouldn’t the present owners want to retire her to broodmare duty. I don’t get it. I thought they really cared about this horse. What do you think? Hugs, JB

Dear JAG:
Thanks for the link to save the Burros. Signed the petition yesterday. Hugs, JB

OK, Zenyatta I need some help. Who are Reagan and Leonard? After reading the posts I am totally confused as to whether Regan is a girl or a boy and who he/she is. Regardless, you are such a great playmate for this darling child. Zenyatta, you are so sweet and dear to us all.

Big Z,
Can’t wait until your party! I am coming from Washington state and will be All-Access! Can’t wait to meet everyone else there! It will be such a fun day!
LOVE the V Foundation! Donate to them in memory of my dear Grammie who died of cancer. I will always donate in her memory and am so glad Team Z honors this incredible organization. Thanks Z! See you and your team in KentuckY very soon!

@judy berube — I think they were concerned about her losing value — at the end of the day, most owners look at ownership as a business. Zenyatta is truly a blessed horse. Not many are this lucky.

You are going to be a wonderful mom! Love the photos, and love you, Zenny!

Zenny – this all TOO CUTE! I can only imagine what it would be like to meet you at Reagon’s age – your head is about the same size as his body! I am sure he will look back on these pictures and know how special the moments were. Hugs to you, Dottie, and Team Z!

Applogies – just realized REAGAN is a SHE

Oh good grief I caught something about Rapid Redux. Geez, that poor horse is being run ONLY to beat Z’s record. The horse isn’t a classic horse but is doing well in allowances.
CAN NO ONE STOP these fools before they ruin this horse?

@Judy Berube and Kennedy’s in San Diego. If you haven’t already done this, go to Blind Luck’s facebook page and look at some of the responses there. There are some that are almost hysterical and then there are the ones that are obviously well-educated in horse racing. There are some really good explanations of why BL probably is going to Keeneland. Can’t say for sure that these explanations are true, but they make a lot of sense. I, too, hope she stays in this country with a good owner at a well-known farm (maybe Lane’s End?). I’d also like to see if there is further media coverage of what the scans showed that the owner was supposed to have done if, indeed, they were done at all.

Wonderful pictures of Zenyatta and Reagan, such kindness from Zenyatta.
St. Trinians, Life at Ten and now Blind Luck all being offered for sale (auction) at the same place is a little hard to take in. It’s almost as if a racing era has ended. I read several of the comments on Blind Luck’s Face Book page and they kind of run the gamut. I agree with someone who said that the announcement about Blind Luck could have been made in a much better way. The way it was announced makes people think that she has no value to her owners anymore. Some of the commenters were defending the decision from a racing owners standpoint. Some were expressing the point that horse racing is a business and business decisions are made which aren’t always popular.
I think we Americans are very posessive and want to keep “our horses” in our country. I’m not criticizing. There is also the horrible memory of Ferdinand’s fate and the earth quakes when thinking about Japan. I am also one who would like to see them stay here in the USA.

Hi Big MAMA just love these adorable pics of you and baby Reagan, the soft, tender look in your eyes and those marvelous floppy ears say it all!! I really believe animals recognize babies in any species.
@JAG IN CAL I signed your petition, shooting those adorable burros, I’m OUTRAGED!!!
@ABIGAIL IN MONTREAL thanks again for another wonderful VAULT, what a beautiful horse So You Think is. And I didn’t know Secretariat had a son in Australia. Hope you and your son are doing okay.
@ I am disgusted that they are dumping the magnificent Blind Luck on the auction block!! We never heard what happened in her last race and then to read this…..what is going on, they supposedly loved this horse. $$$$$$$ Money talks. I wish I could buy her she has the heart of a lion.!!!
Luv you Z kisses on your nose
Karen Keen
Zenny, you have so much love in you for everyone and everything. You are one in a million and will be the best mom ever. Baby Z/B is very lucky. I love you, beautiful girl.

@JAG in Cal – I just signed your wild burros petition. I hope it does some good. I will never be able to understand how anyone could do something like this to any animal. Animals are such innocent, helpless creatures. How anyone could ever hurt one is beyond me.
@Sue Fredrick – I totally agree with you about Blind Luck. I kept waiting to hear why she performed so badly in her last race, but nothing was ever said. I just don’t understand how they could just dump her on the auction block. It’s sickening. I wish you could buy her, too.
Donna
Hi, Zenny. These pictures speak volumes of your sweet and gentle spirit that Reagan’s parents could trust you with their beautiful baby. You’re just a wonder and I love you.
