Good Morning,
All of you are SO SWEET! Thank you for the kind comments regarding the photo yesterday. I’ll try to address some of the questions many of you asked here.
Firstly, MY TAIL is fine. I never had a lush tail. It was MY DEAR MARIO who worked so hard to keep it looking terrific. Here at Lane’s End, MATT helps ME with it as well. In yesterday’s photo, the wind was blowing and it was partially hidden. It is just fine…and NO, TASTY does not touch it. WE both always want to look our best…and having a nice tail is part of the LOOK! We respect this with each other.
Many of you asked about the SIZE difference between the two of us. I am a pretty tall girl, as you know, I’m right at 17 hands in height. In yesterday’s photo, I have my head held very high while I’m cuddled up to MY JOHN. (He is 6′ 2″.) I’m also in the front portion of the photo and TASTY is standing more in the background. She is a very well-built horse as well, and per MY JOHN, she is about 16.2 hands. She just appears smaller in this photo due to the fact that she is ‘peeking in at us’ while she poses and not standing as tall as she normally would. I really think it is a very cute picture and shows how sweet we are with each other. I enjoyed sharing MY JOHN with her!
You know photography…sometimes if you are the one in the front…you appear a bit ‘larger’ than the images, horses, or people in the back. I am taller than TASTY but not by as much as it appears in this particular photo. She is a very attractive and well-balanced horse in her own right.
Yes, MY JOHN did check my legs. I have figured it out now that he simply can’t resist the opportunity to do so when he is around ME. In reality, it is second nature to him… and I must say…I really enjoy it! It reminds me of the many special moments I spent with him. Now, though, it is TOO CUTE! He has added a new dimension to this ‘checking up on ME’…and that is touching my BABY BUMP! He gives ME (and BABY TOO) several adoring and loving ‘pats’ on the TUMMY!
What do you think JOHN….is MY FOAL a colt or a filly? Only time will tell!
It is so hard to believe that the time is flying by so quickly. My due date is in early March. TASTY and I are both due to foal then. It will be interesting to see how much ‘we grow’ during the next few months!
I’ll keep you posted!
Have a great day!
With Love,
Hugs to all~
Z

PS: If you REALLY want to get on an ARIES “good side” make sure that whenever you meet it’s a CELEBRATION OF RENEWAL. AND: try not to TAKE THEM FOR GRANTED. ARIES is strong, but not wanting to be overlooked, as in: “Oh, Zenny’s strong, she can cope with that…”

PPS: ARIES can spend most of their lives searching for their SOUL MATE. Once they find him/her, that person is the CENTRE of their UNIVERSE forever. ARIES can also be deeply SPIRITUAL, with the kind of wisdom we associate with the term “OLD SOUL.”
CONGRATS to FRANKEL! WHAT AN HONOUR — although certainly well-deserved!!!!

Z, you’re a KIND friend, too, as well as horse. You will be the BEST mommy, too….

@Barbara Wood – Glad you enjoyed the story. Cinder was a joy to grow up with. I have seen many of the Chicken Soup books, but I haven’t read the horse one. I’ll add it to the list. Thanks.
@Ensign – Hi, so nice to hear from you as always!
@Abigail – Your talents never cease. Writer extraordinaire, Welsh grandmother and now astrologist to the stars!! Love it!
@D Stuart – YEA FRANKEL!! What an amazing horse and being named after Bobby just makes it even better. I sure hope they decide to share him with us sometime during his career.

Hi baby girl, you did seem to tower over Tasty in the photos yesterday, you do realize that the camera also adds additional pounds. You look incredable.Am walting as patiently as possible{for me that is} which is none and next to none,to see the little one.I would just love to see a filly, but would be pleased with a colt.healthy & strong like mommy and above all you must teach them to danceand carry themselves as regally as their mom did.Take care LOTS’O’LOVE

BABY SHOWER?
Zenyatta, please ask your team; How about something like what was done at the BC? Maybe, after the foal is born, fans could actually see you Zenyatta? From a distance, at least?
Donate to, perhaps, Old Friends, in Baby’s name as shower gift?

Sweet loveable Z, I love every inch, rather 17 hands of you. So John could not resist giving you “love pats” on your baby bump. I wonder if John felt baby z move?!! (Us humans do when we carry our baby) I am so bothered that I will be gone all of March in Fla. I will so miss your posts!! It will break my heart to miss the news of the birth of baby z and to know you are doing great !! Perhaps I can find a library near by. Just know wherever I may be, you will be in my thoughts & prayers. Are you hoping for a colt or a filly my dear big mama?
I think it is awesome your Bernie is now charging higher fees for his services. I bet he would not have charged you a dime if it were up to him! ha He is awesome, but then look who his daddy is. He does look like A.P. Indy!! Just think A P will be a grampa to your baby z!!!
love with 2 kisses on your soft nose, one for baby z

@Ensign- thank you for info…very glad to read your post again….
@JAG and Allen Tn- I am your sister as I have been a member for years too!
@Signotimes- thank you for all the links…
@All – Again thank you ….I am a bit overwhelmed and would take up far too much space to thank you all individually. I appreciate every word, every prayer, every e-mail, card …and Thank YOU!!!
LauraJ (Cincinnati, OH)
@Ensign, nice to see you again. Don’t be a stranger! Tasty has to be Gg as a daughter of Md’O. I think her mama was Gg also, so she got lucky. Zenny might carry chestnut, as both her parents do. Bernie doesn’t, so Baby Bump will be a bay or dark bay. We will see what she produces down the road. What did you think of the Breeders’ Cup races?
Linda in NJ
Hi Zenny: I am glad to hear all is well with you. Well, I must say that is exactly what I thought; the wind blew your tail around to the other side of you leaving us to think your tail is now shorter. You look wonderful as always. Zenny, you and Dottie mentioned that YOUR John took some videos of you. Maybe you can ask Dottie to please post the link to the videos or tell us how we can view the latest videos of you and maybe Tasty too!
Zenny, I am really happy that you are not telling us if your foal is a filly or a colt. We want to be surprised when your baby is born.
@Kari Bussell: Hi Kari–it is wonderful to hear from you. All of us were very worried when we heard about your accident. Glad to hear you are home and have your computer back in use.
@Ensign–My goodness, we haven’t heard from you in an age. So nice to hear from you.

Oh yes, John Henry ‘s birthday and all those guardian
Equine angels.

For the person who said that TT and RA are half siblings this is INACORRECT. In TB’s to be half siblings one must have the same momma. Sires don’t count.
I believe Dottie and Zenyatta addressed this subject months ago.
Also someone said that Z’s second date with Bernie was Apr 9. That should be corrected to Apr 3.
Gestation is Approximately 330-360 days. Some say 320-350. Barbaro’s mom usually has her baby somewhere between 312-317 days.
But then I’ve read of a man who swore his mare ALWAYS delivered between 310-320 days.
We will all be on pins and needles. Patience and a deep breath. We want the baby to be born strong and healthy. If that means a few extra days in the oven–it’s well worth the wait.
Sally B. (Wi)
@Kari Bussell; there is so much strength in prayer, and you, our friend, are so deserving of all of them. Wish I could have met you at Z’s party. Well wishes
hugs,
@Ann Marie; I so loved your Z’s slide show! It was delightful meeting you and sharing those cheers watching Z win her races at the party. Sure was a grand time.

@ALL I am sorry, I have been gone too much and will never be able to catch up on what you all have written.
@Barbara Woods, thanks for thinking of all of us, including me, who seldom states much on the posts.
Erin G loves TB's
Z, you’re just as fascinating now as you were on the track. Looking at you never ceases to amaze me and I am surrounded by beautiful TB’s every day. Motherhood suits you big girl.

Big hugs to you Zenny and also to Tasty. You girls are absolutely Too Cute and adorable. Love the recent photos from Your John and the updates about your party. So glad everyone had fun.
@Kari Bussell and DMCQ–Welcome Back!!! so glad to hear from you. We are here for strength in numbers for you.
@Susan in TN–loved hearing about Choctaw. When connections are made with animals, it’s just the greatest feeling in the world. So glad Chopper and Chester are doing well.
@JAG–I too am a member of Defenders of Wildlife and WWF (World Wildlife Fund). Gotta help all the critters :)
Great links and info being shared.
Prayers and good thoughts to everyone. Keep on dancing!!!
Zenny you are the force that sustains us and keeps us going when times are tough. You are the brightest star with the most wonderful connections to be had.
Have great night and Lotsa love to all.

Yikes I just caught my own mistype! Barbaro’s mom usually delivers 342-347 days! That goes to show you just how easy it is to make a boo boo. Note to self–you make your fair share of boos boos Every day!
Sally B. (Wi)
I just remembered sweet Z; I sure hope you received my large gift bag of carrots, peppermints & apples I left while I attended Lane’s End fan appreciation day Sun. after the BC races. I hope you found a card inside as well. I stated you could share with Tasty if you wanted since she is your dear friend.
You are at a top notch beautiful farm Big Mama. This was my 2nd year visiting there. I would never tire of visiting all the horses. Just hope I see you one day in person!!
love, hugs, kisses always
