Cool pics of The Princess. So glad that Zenyatta has a year off to rest. She looks great.
Thank goodness Tiznow can’t get out of the stalls in the new Winstar Stallion Barn. The grooms say that he is too smart for his own good. Super Saver sleeps more than any horse I have ever seen. He’s another Seabiscuit, I guess.
Hope there is a segment on both Zenyatta and Tiznow during the Breeder’s Cup Classic TV coverage.
How beautiful!! Thank you so much for sharing these great photos by Alys, a terrific photographer!!! Z Princess is growing into such a beauty – just like her mom. I am so grateful to Team Zenyatta for continuing to share our Queen with those of us who love her so much from so far away. Thank you!!!
What beautiful pictures of zprincess and her mates. It is not just that Zenyatta is photogenic as they say, it is because she has that special loveliness that sets her apart.
Goodnight sweet dreams Z

Also love how both greys are buddied up in all of these pictures!
(I’m assuming by the ‘roaning’ look of the bay’s blaze and body.. may be wrong though)
Fellow Zsters,
The princess is simply terrific, gorgeous! But Zenny is just so beautiful. There’s magic in her expression. Can’t explain it, just keep loving’ it!
Terry Crow, I hope you are well. You are missed.
Sally, your love for horses is inspiring. Sir was lucky to have you in his life, as he was a blessing in yours.
Judy B — where do you find all this wonderful info — you are a treasure chest of equine info. Thank you!
Abigail – I love the way you write and what you write. I always look forward to your posts.
Am eager for news of Coz and how he’s coming along with John. Keeping my fingers crossed that he will run at Belmont this year. I may need to travel south…..
I haven’t posted in a while, but read daily. This community is a bottomless source of info, entertainment, shared love of all things equine. Love and best to all!
Our girls are looking regal, happy, and healthy. Thank you, Alys, for sharing with us. Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Moss, Team Zenyatta, and Team Lane’s End for making our involvement possible.
Gorgeous photos as always. Zenny looks so happy, and ZPrincess looks happy with allthe friends she has now. Absolutely loving the blaze on that chestnut, too.
Sheena. Just got up to some unhappy news. Australia has retired apparently due to a hind hoof issue. Sorry that he will not get his chance at Ascot. We may see a win from CDA?
Moose, it’s getting closer to your comeback?
Australia retired to Coolmore
Sky Sports Updated: 11/10/14 10:23am
Dual Derby winner Australia has been retired to stud, a Coolmore representative has announced.
In a shock announcement, time has been called on the racing career of the high-class Galileo colt, who had been set to make his swansong on QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot next Saturday.
Kevin Buckley, UK representative for Coolmore, told Channel 4 Racing: “Unfortunately Australia developed a problem in his right-hind hoof during the week.
“Following consultation between the resident farrier at Ballydoyle, our vet, John Halley, and the respective owners, the decision was made yesterday to retire him to Coolmore.” http://www1.skysports.com/news/2/9512447/time-called-on-australia-career
Tribute to Sadler’s Wells By Andrew O’Brien
Reflections on the career of the great stallion, who died on April 26, 2011, aged 30
Staff writer on Aidan O’Brien site
Thirty years ago, if an owner or trainer wished to give himself the best chance of buying a yearling with genuine pretensions to winning the Derby, he was obliged to head to Kentucky for the Keeneland July Sale. While Britain was still home to a handful of established owner/breeders’ studs which collectively produced a few Classic prospects each year, the world’s best stallions were located in Kentucky, and the American yearling sales were thus the place where Europeans might find their Classic prospects.
Those days now seem a lifetime away. That is, of course, because they are a lifetime away: Sadler’s Wells’s lifetime. And it was largely the achievements of Sadler’s Wells during his glorious 30-year life which made the difference. http://www.aidanobrienfansite.com/champion-stallions.php
Dear Max.So shocked to hear of Australia’s premature retirement.I am sad we will never get a chance to see this wonderful son of Ouija Board again.I,for one, will always remember his Epsom Derby win.Have a great retirement beautiful boy!CDA has a chance now in the Champion! The Moose must be freed.Sheena.
Sheena. Australia is a very handsome chestnut. Glad that they will keep him in Ireland with his dad. His Derby win was good. Both Derby wins were good. I enjoyed all of his races. They would have been even better if he could have run alone without young Joe.
The clock is ticking down to total Moose freedom.

Treve Unretired; To Try for Third Arc
Thoroughbred Daily News Oct. 11 2014
Trainer Criquette Head-Maarek has announced that Al Shaqab Racing’s Treve (Fr) (Motivator {GB}), who joined an elite group in winning her second G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe last weekend, will stay in training next year and aim for a third Arc. Connections had previously announced during the week that the 4-year-old filly would be retired and bred to Dubawi (Ire) next year http://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/intraday_single.cfm?Treve_Unretired_To_Try_for_Third_Arc_Trainer&
Dear Max.So many shock announcements in Europe today,Treve staying in training in the hope of a 3rd Arc!They will have to take good care of her given her problems this season.Australia is to stand at Coolmore Ireland alongside his dad.Of course, they may shuttle him.My cousin Julie just texted me from Prague, the big steeple chase there tomorrow the Pardubicka.Gosh, It’s time the Moose was freed! Sheena.
Sheena. I guess that Treve got bored already with retirement. I’m rather glad about this because too many horses get retired too soon. They are race horses for a reason. They gotta race!
You have relatives in Prague? Did not know that there is a Welsh enclave there.
Moose, get your running shoes on!
Flowers and people have many similarities. The shy violets that take to the shadows to bloom in dewy quietness are so different from the bright yellow jonquils that dance in the sunlight. And then there’s the beauty of the rose. It blooms in lovely colors, di ka no di, and has a fragrance all its own. But it must be handled gingerly or its thorns will snag like crazy. And the petunia. It grows anywhere, in any kind of weather, with very little attention. It is prolific, coming in many colors and scents the evening air with happy memories. Where do we see ourselves? Sometimes we are simply weeds-but even weeds flower and give us insight into our own natures.

Dear Kathy. All our furbabies are well and Marty is coming home with a load of yogies he’s missing mum and dad .Poor Kimberly is suffering from anemia.I well remember my mum had the same problem in her 40’s blood count went down to 50%!!!She lived on barley sugars. The iron tablets played havoc with her tummy, though. She did get better .Have a good day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.
Thanks so much for sharing and the great pictures. All look happy and are is the best place. Love watching the babies grow up. One looks like it is wearing a light color shirt with dark color pants…..Can only imagine what color grey it will be in spring. How they change.
Dear Max.No,I don’t have any relatives in Prague,Julie flew there yesterday I think she’s staying a week.As you say,a lot of horses retire far too early I feel they could have kept Frankel on as a 5yr old but,of course, the stud fees seem more important to the owners than seeing their horses race.Julie hated the flight.thought her eardrums would burst, she has flown before earlier this year.I had no response to my email to Kathy R,I don’t know if Judy has heard from her so…?.The Moose will be free!!!Sheena.
Sheena. As you know, Frankel raced fourteen times over 3 years so that is a good long career by today’s standards. The way in which his owner felt about him may also have accounted for his retirement. That horse cast a spell over everyone. Frankel also had more or less won everything in England. Going to the Arc was about all that was left. I think that Cecil was right to avoid that race.
Moose, freedom on the horizon?

Thanks Team Z! Happy way to start a weekend for sure. Prinzess just gets prettier every picture.
