Zenyatta was a racehorse and the filly will be weaned at 5-6 months as normal.

That is nothing more than ill-intended RUMOR, Heather. One that is false. The only time a foal is removed from the mother is when, for whatever reason, the mother cannot care for the foal. In which case there is no other option. But it is not common practice and not something anyone in the business hopes to happen. What they want is for mother and foal to thrive together. Separating them prematurely makes no sense business wise or moral wise. Please don’t listen to hearsay you just happen to read in some random corner of the internet spread by people who make a profit on a lie. Zenyatta will be with her foal until the foal is weaned at around 6 months of age, which is perfectly normal. Until then, they will live happily TOGETHER.

Zenyatta always looks contented with a baby at her side. Thought this one was going to be black by the look of the first pic and the lineage but now, I have changed my mind. I hope she breaks the mold and is fast fast fast!!! Happy to see the filly!
