Mother’s Day Love for Our Queen (Mom)

Zenyatta wishing everyone Happy Mother’s Day from Lane’s End Farm. Photo by Todd Claunch.

Mother’s Day Greetings,

We are feeling so blessed to be celebrating this year with Zenyatta’s Family. Along with her own progeny – we cherish all moms everywhere – near and far!

We believe our Queen continues to inspire mothers with a wonderful example of how a mother’s love is the deepest, purest, and most forgiving and enduring love one experiences. Thank goodness for our Moms!

Happy, Happy Mother’s Days Zenyatta: Your Family sends you Love, Hugs, Kisses, and SPECIAL wishes!

      Dear Judy,
My eyes are misted over — this is a wonderful article! Thank you for posting the link, dear friend. The author is absolutely right — this is what makes horse racing so much fun. Anyone can win on any given day! The odds can definitely be defied.
      Hugs and Love 💕

      Judy,
Thanks for the article. Now we know that “Richie” is not some nobody horse. Of course, Secret Oath carries the genes of her champion sire, Arrogate. His death is one of those things that make you think of what might have been. Godspeed to her in the Preakness.

I am more than a bit behind here😩. Happy Belated Mother’s Day to all Moms (with both human and fur baby children). Thanks so much to Team Z for fetching and sharing the wonderful pictures of our Queen Mother and her family❤️❤️❤️❤️ Such a treat to see, and I join everyone in wishing them all well. So exciting to know that Miss Zilkah is now with John, and we look forward to following her progress.
Re the Derby – I was so fixated on willing Zandon to pass Epicenter that I never even saw Rich Strike coming! My Mo Donegal didn’t do too badly either. It certainly was a race for the ages, and I join you all is congratulating Ritchie and all of his connections. Even without the Derby winner, the Preakness will be very interesting.
Remember there is no Hovis diary today due to the absence of his scribe.

    Dear Sandy:

I never saw Rich Strike closing either. I bet a part wheel Super with Epicenter and Zandon, first or second and Rich Strike and Cyberknife, third or fourth. I noted that he had won at Churchill by 17 lengths as a two year old, so I chose him as my long shot. Never imagined he would win. Even when you know……

Note: Just discovered that Gold Strike is 20 years old. Not such a Cinderella Story after all if still trying to breed her in my humble opinion.

        Dear Judy,
Thanks for the interesting read. Gold Strike’s offspring may be few, but at least one of them is choice!
Glad she has had good owners though. ❤️

Dear Marshall, Ann and Z Fans:

Congrats to jockey Dylan Davis on his 1000th win today.

He’s son of former jockey and now trainer, Robbie Davis, brother of jockey Jacqueline Davis and brother-in-law of Trevor McCarthy.

      Dear Judy,
Thanks for this link — Congrats to Dylan on his 1000th win yesterday, and he has already started working on the next thousand today!
That very capable brother-in-law won the Man o’ War Stakes (G-1) today at Belmont on Highland Chief (19-1)! Quite the upset it seems since Yibir or Gufo were expected to win. Congrats to Highland Chief, Trevor M., Graham Motion and all connections! Well done!! (Highland Chief is a 5 year old son of Gleneagles out of Pink Symphony(Montjeu)
Here is a link to get to the replay:

Just enter the race number which is Race 8 to view. Trevor was emotional in Maggie’s interview on the way off the course. Sweet!
