    Dear Sheena,

I have to have my blood drawn before work today so I’m on the run. The FB furbabies all seem fine. Hope you are as well. How appropriate the quote for today’s Devotional is from Little TurtleQ Be sure to turtle-turtle today. Wimbley is telling the snowman what he s=wants for Christmas and the snowman will relay the request to Santa Claus. How sweet! Have a great day. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

On this day in 1935 one of Europe’s leading jockeys was born in Talgarth,Breconshire. He had a memorable partnership with the Mighty Mill Reef although beaten by the Brigadier in the 1971 2000 guineas Mill Reef went on to win the Epsom Derby,Eclipse,King George and Queen Elizabeth and then his finest moment the Arc.Sadly Mill Reef fractured a leg while training in 72′ but was saved and sired Derby winner Shirley Heights.Geoff went on to train 500 winners before moving to Spain but is now back in the UK to be near his daughter.Happy Birthday Hugs Sheena.
Smad place is running in the King George. The runaway winner of the Hennessy last month he will face stiff competition but ground should be to his liking!Wow this is shaping up to be a great race.

      Dear Sue,
Am praying for your new kidney to arrive quickly, so you can feel wonderful instead of punk. My husband was a donor for his brother, when kidney transplants were still rare. Nowadays, they do them all the time all over the world. Will look for your updates, so we’ll know when it arrives, and you can start feeling great. Thank you for sharing this news with us. Sending much love, Elizabeth

DearJudy.Mill Reef was bred your side of the pond by Paul Mellon. They felt his action was more suited to the turf courses of Europe rather than the dirt tracks in the US and he was sent over to a young Ian Balding at Kingsclere.I remember they operated on him at Ian’s yard and he lived at the National stud until he died at 18yrs of age.He is buried at the stud.If you look on wiki you will see the beautiful words written on his statue. The household cavalry were marvellous at Olympia tonight very controversial end to the Grand Prix. The Irish rider was disqualified something to do with horse welfare I think no reason given so far.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT Cap Hercules Frank Bentley and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaXOXOPoor Metro was too frightened to go in the trailer to visit the New Bolton today.Prayers for himX

I met Ziconic on 6/20/2015 at Lane’s End. He was brought out of the broodmare shed walking right behind Big Momma Zen. I will never forget that moment!! He had momma’s “engine” already for sure. And, the cutest long red eye lashes!

My ♥ will be all a flutter the next time I set eyes on gorgeous Red :-)

      Dear Judy,
I would love to hear their converstion, too.
I did not realize that Silver Charm’s dam
was a hard knocking claimer. She ran 60 some
races and won over 30 in 4 years. He was her
most successful son. I think she had a couple
of stakes winners. BB always said he was a
blue collar guy, no wonder just like his mom,
loved a good fight down to the wire. She was
      at Old Friends.

Very successful racing career. I did not remember that she is Silver Charm’s Mom. Found this lovely photo of her at Old Friends.

    December 22 Cherokee Devotional

Right now the season is at high glitter. Christmas trees in the square are covered with twinkling lights and shops and eating places teem with people in a holiday mood. Gifts of love and obligatory gifts pass from hand to hand and most lay their differences aside for a short time.
A time is recalled when the love and happiness were poured into our little homespun Christmas tree, and I wished for lights. My little Cherokee u ni tsi, Mother, took me to the doorway and pointed at the heavens so aglitter with stars. She stood quite still for a few seconds and then smiled at me and said, “It kind of puts a light bulb to shame, doesn’t it?”

…Ere you change conditions that have brought peace and happiness.

Thank you Dottie for these wonderful photos. 2016 is going to be very exciting with these two boys.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Blessed Happy New Year.

Echoing what others have said, this blog is a great blessing to me and has forged so many wonderful friendships. None of which could have happened without our beloved Zenyatta and John, Ann, Dottie and Team Z for graciously sharing her with us. Thank you and God bless you all.
