I remember thinking that Z and Mike were closer in this race because of Anabaa’s Creation. She almost beat her the last time they met up. Z beat her by a nose in their other matchup.

I can only imagine how Team Z was on pins and needles when she raced as she seemed to always come from behind. What a thrill it must have been to see her race in person. Love ya’ Zenny

      Dear Sheena and Judy,
He looks more and more like a panda every day, still so small compared to mum. How long does it take for him to reach adult size?

Bei Bei a.k.a. Tank won’t be considered an adult panda until he’s 4 years old at which time he’ll be deported to China to join his big brother Tai Shan in the breeding program. At the rate he’s growing, he should rival his father Tian Tian in size: Big Daddy Tian is 275 pounds and very handsome . Right now, Bei Bei is considered a cub, and sister Bao Bao is a juvenile panda at 2 years old. Next year when she’s three, she’ll be called a subadult. Bei Bei has reached the major milestone of his eyes being open although he probably can’t see very well yet. He can hear loud sounds and his milk teeth are beginning to “erupt” as the vets call it. He’s scooting very well, but he really wants to skip crawling and go right to walking which leads to many adorable, but angry vocalizations on his part when he doesn’t succeed.

          Dear Deb E
You have been watching these pandas for quite awhile, thanks for the great information. Will he then stay permanently in China, that is a shame, but I guess that is what the whole program is about and we do get to keep his mom correct?
          Love and hugs

Mei Xiang and Tian Tian are here on loan from China. Their lease was renewed for another five years, but eventually we will have to give them back and another breeding pair will be sent to the National Zoo. Until Mei started having cubs after a long series of pseudopregnancies and miscarriages, there was talk right up until 2012 that Mei and Tian would be returned to China. Thankfully, Mei’s reproductive system kicked into full gear, so she and her husband are here for a few more years at the very least.

Hail to the Queen! I never get tired of seeing her race, over and over again. She is poetry in motion. Does anyone know who the chestnut horse is that Coz hung around with in the weanling and yearling paddock? I would love to know his Dam and Sire and his new owners and trainer. He sure loved him alot.

Know who you are and don’t worry about what other people think. Be your own best friend and resist trouble like wildfire. Be steadfast in good times and bad, tell fear to get lost and do away with doubt the way you would turn a hose on a fire.
Never fall into the habit of believing you are always in the wrong. It can be a sufferer’s trap, like a wastebasket that catches all the trash. Time is precious and you don’t have time to stand in a hole. Make a difference now by lifting your vision of yourself. There’s no such thing as bad blood when your heart is right.

    Dear Sheena,

All is well with the FB furbabies I’ve visited. Zoe is contemplating which outfit to wear for the final judging of the cutest dog contest. I voted for the pink feather dress with a tiara on her head if she owns one. Have a blessed Sabbath. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO
