    May 13 Cherokee Devotional

    Sometimes it takes another person standing on the outside of our emotional problem to do for us what we can’t seem to do for ourselves. We need those who can see beyond appearances and will let us lean on them until we are in control again. It isn’t the Cherokee’s natural bent to discuss a problem openly with anyone. Silence is not only golden, it is safer and does nothing to make a problem grow as he believes talking will. But he knows the time, the place and the right person will avail themselves to him, and then he can talk. It isn’t that we fear showing a weakness, but that we know the power of the word to make matters worse if we talk in a negative way about our needs. Even prayer should not be to reiterate our wants. Yoweh knows what we need. He waits for our adoration and thanksgiving that the needs are already provided for.

    There is a dignity about the social intercourse of old Indians which reminds me of a stroll through a winter forest.

    Dear Kathy.Some sunshine on the Dyfi and they actually think Blue 24 has left!!I still think she’s hiding somewhere plotting her revenge!!Marty certainly had great adbentures last night ending up having yogis with the President,he’ll be running the country before long!!
    Fubu won his contest but Baley had to be rushed into emergency.The bills are so high so they’ve gone on one of those funding pages even Miss Ellie Beans is on “go fund me”her mommy “wosted her joby” and gets no unemployment.Seems much harder for you peeps in the US than us,so many take advantage of our welfare system.Loved Fubu sitting in the carrier bag,Katie used to love doing that when I’d get home with my shopping!Gorgeous video of Ray kissing his bruddah!Why on earth does Boo wear those little boots must be difficult to walk in,he’s heading for 13 million Wow!Have a great day.Hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.

    I’m so glad the sun is shining! Fingers crossed that Blue 24 is gone. But like you I feel she’s hiding and plotting. A rat 4-legged) in the White House! Wonders never cease! So glad Fubu won! There was a lot of campaigning going on. It paid off! Poor Baley and Miss Ellie Beans. Many people are struggling right now. Fubu in the bag was very cute. Cats LOVE bags! That was a marvelous video of Ray and his bruddahs. Lots of love in that house. I was glad Jack-O joined in at the end, too! Boo and Buddy look awfully uncomfortable in those boots.     Sad story in Nebraska: multiple tornadoes Sunday night. Last night the Lincoln news reported that a young girl who trained horses for show and riding had 2 of her horses die and others injured when barn and arena collapsed. It is always so hard on the farm animals when these storms hit rural Nebraska. I live in Lincoln so when the sirens sound I can get myself and my dogs to the basement. The big animals don’t have such good chances.

    Dear Max.Heard Verrazano might be in the Lockinge on Saturday,wonder what he will make of the English turf.Aidan still has high hopes for Australia in the Derby,lovely pic of him having a good roll after exercising yesterday.They are not certain True Story will run in the Dante and Kingston Hill is out.Would be an historic win for Aidan 3 derbys in a row.Time is running out to get Estimate ready for RA she’s had a slow start to the year so maybe no luck for Her Majesty this year.Free the Moose.Sheena.

      Sheena. I saw that photo of Australia having a roll after his work out. Cool. If Verra runs in the Lockinge, I wish him well. He might take to the turf well. Roberto did.       Sheena. Thought that you might like to see this video of Noble Mission winning. I do like his head gear. Huge ears on this horse. He’s the opposite of his brother, makes all of the running on heavy going with no pacemaker. More stamina for the longer distances too.

        • JudyB. I loved it too because Mission has really progressed. He’s also a real character because he practically never takes that black hood off. Here they pretty much remove those things from the horse as soon as a race is over. Mission wears his around the barn. It even covers his ears. At the end of the race, he just snorts and prances off the course. Doesn’t look tired. I think that he’s saying: now for some lunch.

    Hi all; We have had nothing but rain, sometimes just pouring with thunder & lightning here in Wi. We are lucky though compared to elsewhere.
    I arrived to do chores today with the horses and their stalls were quite a mess as their stalls are left open for them to go in and out. After they ate grain and went out to the pasture a bit, in a drizzle, they came back and rested. Sir rested for 40 minutes. He almost went to the ground in his stall, but would catch himself. I was picking up in his stall and I would speak to him, “Sir, Sir, wake up a bit!” Sir finally backed up so that he could not go down because his hinder was against our work stall door!! The door was pushing out slightly and I wondered if he would break the latch. Needless to say, I had to bring out poop a different way!
    It must have been wild there last night with the thunder and such; I do not think they got too much sleep.
    It just was a wonderful time once again taking care of them.

    Anndrew Bensley on Skysportsradio has just finished a great little chat with Art Sherman – he (Art) was quite tickled with who wants to talk with him in the racing world – said he’d just finished talking with the French, and now he was talking to Australia. Bensley told him we’d all be watching and cheering for California Chrome on Sunday morning (our time). It’s all getting quite exciting, but nerve wracking! Hugs, KathyR.

      Sheena. I do not like the use of pacemakers. Agree with Fink and LoPresti that they would never use Dan’s brother as a pacemaker. It must be demoralizing for a horse to be predetermined to lose to another. It also makes the race less exciting tactically.
      When he was a 2 year old, Noble Mission did not seem to know exactly what to do. Now he’s all muscle and new found determination. He does look stronger and larger. I would give most of the credit for his improvement to Lady Cecil. She wintered him well and changed up his running style. Doyle also seems to be a very good rider.

      Where is Mucho Macho Man? I assume they are targeting the Breeder’s Cup Classic again, but they would do that via the Awesome Again via the Woodward… are they going to make us wait until July??

      tmallios1 · Absolutely no need for him to come back so early. The horse is getting older. Bottom line is that after last year,all they really care about is the BC Classic. They will more than likely run 4 more times. 2 of those are The Awesome Again and The BC Classic. The other 2 will either be The Whitney and a prep or the Woodward and a Prep. Seriously doubt they will run in the Woodward. More likely the Whitney and then get a 2 month breather to prep in Cali · 4 days ago ·

    Do you have any idea what is going on with Lea? He last worked on March 30th and nothing since and I have seen nothing about him anywhere.

    LEA took ill prior to the Charles Town Classic and had to be withdrawn from consideration from that race. He is back in training, but we may not see him until the Whitney at Saratoga.

      Judy, Thank you for all your research on my two boys. I have asked about Lea on the Claiborne FB page and got no reply so it is good to know he is back in training. As for Muchie, I guess he is just resting.

      As I said before, I now have joined the Palace Malice bandwagon and he sure has not disappointed.

    Kathy-I meant to respond to your previous post about GWTW being shown as a preview in Riverside. Previews used to be a big thing, I think they have been discontinued now. As a member of the audience, you never knew what was going to be shown. One time there were rumors that my local theater was going to show Elmer Gantry as a preview and it spread like wildfire. The theater was packed. Turned out to be a film titled Attack of the Crab Monsters. There was a lot of groaning when the movie came on.
